Came into Patisserie for dessert and enjoyed every moment. The café is conveniently located within a strip mall and has plenty of parking. There are tables available, in order to enjoy your purchase, and I appreciated how the staff brought our order to our table. I started with a Cappuccino and it was divinely crafted. It was served at the perfect temperature and I enjoyed every drop. My dessert was the Fondant au Chocolat (gluten free). I thought it would be served with no accompaniments, but I was pleasantly surprised. It came with sliced strawberries and a sweet drizzling sauce that made the chocolate mouth-watering. ORDER IT! I was almost put off by some of the negative reviews, but I'm glad I stopped in and I will definitely come back. I had the almond croissant, the bonjour on sourdough, and a decaf cappuccino. The cappuccino was very foamy and smooth (important to know for decaf lovers), and the almond croissant is delicious and moist. I can't stand a dry crunchy pasty croissant. This thing is supposed to be butter masquerading as bread lol, and this one hits the mark. The bonjour (scrambles egg cheese and tomato on either sourdough or croissant) came with an Israeli-style salad nicely dressed with oil and vinegar. The sandwich itself is basic, but well made. service so far has been quick and very friendly. There is a long table that can either be community seating or seat a large group of 10, and there's a huge group of people at their outside tables, so don't think that this is a tiny coffee shop. There is maybe 1 seat near an outlet if you were thinking of working while sipping. Also as someone else said in a prior review, they ARE playing Spanish music and while personally I don't think you need a French song for a pastry and coffee, it may be a little distracting for the ADHD among us who like more coffee shop background noise and less radio. First time there yesterday and I enjoyed it. I ordered oatmeal with banana, croissant with nutella and banana and an orange juice. The presentation was very nice and the food was good. You order at the counter where they give you silverware and the sign and the staff bring you the food at the table. All the three staff members I encountered were very nice and friendly. My friend and I walked in for take out. We ordered two Tartine au Saumon sandwiches, one Grilled Chicken sandwich, one Shakshuka, and one Pommes Florentine. We paid and went across the street for bubble tea from Gong Cha because we were told that the order would take 20 minutes to prepare. (I had to ask about the time it would take rather than being told.) We picked up the order, but it wasn't until that we arrived at our destination that we realized that one of the Tartine au Saumon sandwiches was missing. I called the number on the receipt -- because why wouldn't the number on the receipt be that of the store where you purchased the items? -- but the person who picked up kept speaking nonsense to me, even though I provided them with the order number. Turns out, the number on the receipt was NOT the Closter number, but the number for the *Englewood* Patisserie Florentine. I searched for the number for the Closter Patisserie Florentine, called and provided them with the order number and let them know about the missing sandwich, and was told that they had left it out and could be picked up from the restaurant. We went back and received the sandwich and a courtesy blueberry muffin. As for the food, the food portions were smaller than expected and the taste was average. The biggest disappointment was Shakshuka and Pomme Florentine. The small container of Shakshuka was not worth $14.50, and we expected Pommes Florentine to be french fries, not home fries -- but admittedly, we could have avoided the "french fries or not" discrepancy if we had asked before ordering. We did not try the muffin by the time of writing this review because my friend noted that from the display, the blueberry muffins were the only ones that had many remaining so they were likely unpopular. The muffin felt like cast off muffins, not something that is particularly appetizing. Patisserie Florentine was something new to try, but based on this experience, we won't be returning any time soon. read more

It's a good place for brunch, but prepare to drive your own order, else you will bd left hanging! We went for brunch on weekend morning, it was pretty empty restaurant. The menu has interesting items, but the lunch items were not available for brunch even though in the menu it's written as lunch/brunch. Anyway I ordered the croissant fromage as my alternative. II liked the dish a lot. Didn't gravlax is a type of salmon, so was surprised by that. Loved the mozzarella cheese on it. The eggs, greens and bread all worked together. During our dine we witnessed some comic service from the server. One couple at another table ordered coffee and water, which they didn't get for 10 minutes. Finally when they did, it was order of another table! So they left. The people sitting next to us waited for 10 minutes to get their order in. I visited your café twice, including this morning with my husband and mother, and unfortunately, both visits were disappointing. Despite waiting 10-15 minutes, we sat at a dirty table, no one provided us with menus or even acknowledged us, while other tables received attention. We even moved to a clean table but were still ignored. I understand that busy times happen, but a simple acknowledgment or request for patience would have made a difference. The repeated lack of attention left us feeling overlooked, and I can't help but wonder if it was due to discrimination. I hope this feedback helps improve the customer experience. - I left an honest negative review, and shortly after, the business received more than 60 five-star reviews within a few hours, which seems suspicious. Typically, they only get 1-2 reviews a week, so I find it strange that they suddenly got such a large number of positive reviews right after mine. This is a very cute spot in the middle of downtown Closter. I ordered the London Fog which was really good. It wasn't too minty like how lavender lattes are. The almond croissants are amazing too. I love their huge windows. The atmosphere is very quaint and inviting. Theirs plenty of outdoor seating as well. read more

This review of Patisserie Florentine is based solely on the covid-19 outdoor dining experience. Came to Patisserie Florentine for Sunday brunch at opening, and there were already other diners seated under their outside tent. They have a nice little tent set up with about 9-12 tables and a coffee bar outside. If you can grab a spot in the shaded area of the tent, then it's great! They also have a QR code that you scan with your phone to access the menu which was a nice safety measure. When I was there, Patisserie Florentine had 3 waitresses working both the coffee car and the dine in tables, and they were very busy the entire time we were there, and as a result service was slow - their coffee bar line was nearly nonstop from all the bikers and locals waiting to get their morning coffee, orders that were being prepared for pick up, as well as the need to wait on the tables. So as long as you aren't in a rush, and ok with waiting a bit to give your order, be served, and to get your check, then everything else is fine. The food is simple, but nice, and I didn't notice any change in their menu or bakery items due to the pandemic. What I loved about Patisserie Florentine is that they're also giving back to the community at this time. They are partnered with Joy Christian Fellowship to give meals to those in need and impacted by the current pandemic, and so I love supporting those who give back even more! read more

Love their ice chai latte (w. almond milk, $4.50); it's one of my favorite chai's. A cinnamon stick adds a slight, special kick to the chai, simply delectable. Sometimes, chai's can be a hit or a miss, but theirs is consistently to my liking. Their muffins and quick bites are also tasteful, as well as their meals which have a clean, almost raw taste! Pictured is the Omelette Royale ($11.25), which you can choose 2 ingredients for the omelette, and comes with salad, home fried potatoes and a roll; I chose spinach and gruyere (cheese). The gruyere and spinach combination gave the omelette an earthy taste, which I didn't mind too much, but I think I will try replacing the gruyere with brie, for a more buttery, softer taste next time. Ive been here a few times for breakfast/lunch and each time has been pleasant. i wouldnt say its a better breakfast/lunch cafe spot than any other but I would say its very similar and comparable. They do have more specialty items compared to your typical cafe food but the price does reflect the added work and ingredients put into each dish. I do however always enjoy their lattes and am never disappointed when it comes to their coffee. Their dessert I feel depends on the time of day. Some days it is very fresh and warm, other days not so much. I do however love coming here to catch up with my friends or just want a nice cup of coffee with something sweet on the side. My biggest concern is that the baker, who is on display while he prepares the dough for bread, was totally unsanitary in his practice. My wife and I tried having brunch here yesterday. It was our first visit to this location. (We go to the Englewood location once in a while) Place was not crowded unlike the other location. Perhaps because it was Memorial Day. Wife ordered glass of orange juice and french toast. I ordered brunch special with orange juice, Benedict Florentine, and cappuccino. Drinks were served right away. Which was good. Then we sat there waiting for our food for next 40 minutes. (no exaggeration) Something definitely had gone wrong so we asked server to check. She told us that it will be out soon. Waited another 5-7 minutes (10-12 minutes if including the time the server and I discussed the problem), then explained to the server that other guests (at least 2 other parties) who ordered after us are being served their dish. Server did not agree and told us that it will be out very soon. Didn't want to argue with the server and we had lost appetite. I told the server that we will pay for our drinks then leave. Server walked over to someone and came back with a check. Perhaps that someone was a manager? We will never know because that person didn't even try to talk to us. He must have just given an OK to the server. Server came back to us and took the payment. Without saying a word, she turned around and left. (I must have ruined her day. I'm sorry?) I tried not to make a scene because it wasn't a big deal and it probably isn't the server's fault. I didn't want to ruin any other customers' day so I spoke quietly and nicely. I was first told to come here for their almond croissants, that all must try! For this visit, my friend ordered the croissant oeufs frommage which had sunny side eggs & lox with melted mozza & avocado spread which she liked & finished it. I got the veggie soup (bland, boo) and the sanwich with roasted peppers, argula, avo & melted brie with a side salad. The sanwich is a small portion which may shock some, but can be filling. Sunday brunch just got tasty! Love this location; it's a lot bigger than the Englewood location. Parking is ample both street and inside the plaza. Came in at the right time around 10am thus it was not busy but got a lot busier around 11am. Plan accordingly. You seat yourself to any available table. Brunch is $16.95. This comes with freshly squeezed orange juice (yes you can actually see them squeezing it in the machine), your choice of caffeinated drinks (coffee/latte/cappuccino/tea) and meal. There are three options, the omelette, croissant with eggs and Benedict (extra $2). I had the croissants with eggs, this came with a side salad and no dressing. You can always request for some: balsamic, shallot, lemon and olive oil. Half of my croissant had avocado puree and an egg on top, the other half had cream cheese and smoked salmon. Good food although lacked flavor. Had to add salt and pepper and request some ketchup. But the good thing you get to season to YOUR taste. Also split a sweet crepe. Our crepe was filled with fresh strawberries and nutella (can't go wrong with that). They also serve pastries such as croissants, Danish and muffins. It's truly a shame how consistently disappointing this place is. It's like Stockholm syndrome with great food every time. The quality of the food is so good but the service really is a let down and not because of the waiters but because of the order of operations that's so fundamentally flawed. Patisserie embodies when the mentality of "everybody help everybody" goes wrong. They need designated roles and section assignments so that people don't get missed and have their order taken severely late. They don't need each role to be waiter/barista/host. I can only surmise that this is indicative of the owner underpaying their staff and trying to get away with what they can. The pretension is also so unbearable. I wanted to order 2 eggs with my french toast and of course they want to up-charge to tomatoes, toast, and 2 eggs for 6 dollars. When I said I wanted just the 2 eggs and asked about why that can't be done, I was told that's a request that could be fulfilled across the street at the diner and was gaslighted with the typical response of "we've never gotten that request before." Thanks. Owners/manager if you're reading this, stop squandering such quality food with such a poor system of operations and if my hunch is right start treating your employees with more respect. Paid in full and got the response that the order would be ready between noon and 12:15. When I arrived at 12:10 the order was ready except for the two Mac and cheese for the kids. While the waitress was kind and apologetic, an older woman with reddish hair (manager? Hope not) was aloof and dismissive, as though I had received a favor getting the food I ordered. As for the food itself, my wife didn't care for the quiche and my salmon sandwich was tasty but had "bits" instead of whole slices of smoked salmon. Our last visit, unfortunately.
