Never disappoints! I had the Pignoli cookies which were perfectly soft without crumbling (which has happened other places ), the fig filled cookies are a must try if you like figs and the chocolate drizzled/jelly filled cookies are a favorite. Plenty of pies,cakes and breads to choose from too! They also serve coffee and have a few small tables inside if you can't wait until you get home to eat your goodies. read more

I grew up on Rispolis, so maybe I'm biased, but I've put plenty of people on during my life and i have yet to receive any negative criticism. This was a Childhood favorite and staple, which still brings me nostalgia to this day anytime I have a cannoli or their famous lobster tails. Friendly service, delicious aromas and beautiful decorum that always makes you feel like you're at home. Highly recommend, well done! read more

I loved the Ridgefield location. Recently stopped by to get an assortment of pastries. Some things are great others not so much. The rainbow cookies were horrible. It was dry. It's not like what's pictured in other reviews. Lobster tail was good. Other cookies were meh. People were still friendly and nice. Place was nice and clean. After reading other reviews about this bakery, I decided to stop by have to have a cappuccino and check out a couple pastries. Yes, I had a cappuccino after noon and I've been told it's a sin, but all was fine and no one threw me out. Tiramisu was excellent. I do like it a little stronger espresso and marsala flavor, but that is truly a personal preference. The lobster roll (aragoste) was really what I came here for and I was not disappointed. Biting into the crispy thin layers of pastry and being greeted by a decadent chantilly cream was divine. It truly was the perfect ratio of crisp and cream. I would definitely say this was a winner and I'd come back here again for these. Oh and I did ask if they made their own fillings and I was told that they do. Enjoy! read more

We found this gem a few weeks ago after a referral from a friend. The place is efficiently run by a staff of younger people. They are very attentive and quickly deliver your order. The whole experience has been pleasant and friendly. And you leave feeling happy with exquisite little pastries expertly tied up in a little box of goodness. They are seriously delicious. We like the Nutella cream puffs. And the lobster tail is about the most delicious thing we have ever tasted. Great job! read more

Rispoli's is a staple in Bergen county. I hadn't been to the store in a few years and just went back over the past weekend. The pastries are top notch. On my trip back, I got the large sized sfogliatelle, a lobster tail and a cannoli stuffed baba au rum. The baba au rum was dripping from being soaked and it was delicious. Not sure I would get again though because it wasn't my type of dessert vibe. The sfogliatelle were great with a crispy exterior with an wonderful moist interior and extremely fresh. I loved the lobster tail and forgot how superior theirs are compared to all others I have had over the years. The tail was crispy and the layers you could just pull off. The cream inside was glorious. It wasn't too sweet and was a perfect creamy texture. I knocked a star off because I remember the lobster tails being much bigger a few years ago and confirmed it with prior pictures I had taken. Rispoli is incredible, for some things. Lobster tails? Fantastic! The cherry almond cookie? I could eat 100. The demeanors? Not so much. Getting custom cakes right? Never. But the reason for my review... Their Italian rainbow cookies. When did rispoli start selling crap continental cookies? Paid 20.00 for just about a pound to go to a gathering and I was MORTIFIED. They were the small dry almost no jam brittle chocolate disgrace cookies that come from the continental factory....bur like 8 weeks old? So dry they were nearly inedible. Someone else brought a cookie platter from a big box store and the rainbow cookies were a 1to 1 comparison. Jerry's sells the same cookie for 5.99 lb. Which at least is honest for what they are. I feel entirely ripped off, there's no way those are made in house (cuts near identically across all cookies)...god forbid they are they need to change recipes because these were the most pitiful waste of money ever. I called the next day and never received a call back. Uncle guiseppes is a SUPERMARKET and they make exceptional rainbow cookies in house for the same price!!! The lobster tails are amazing! I'm not sure if I ever had one before but I bet I had the best one from here. I will dream about it until I get one again. They are that good. My second favorite from what I got were the mini chocolate cream pies. We got mini cannolis and they were just okay. I need to try the larger version and see what I think. While I had a scheduled oil change in the area, my partner and I decided to pop in to this establishment for breakfast. With a store in Ridgefield which I haven't been in many years, Rispoli's dates back to 1937 and spans three generations. There's parking available on the side of the building. We were greeted by one of the staff, Rose while others were working the kitchen. The shop itself is quite large with glass cases full of pastries are easy to view and for a moment had the place to ourselves. I can't imagine how busy this spot must be during peak hours. We ordered the Pasticiotti cream (small round pastry filled with vanilla cream) and the lobster tail. Rose has informed me that the lobster tail was just freshly made. It was the truth as the shell was crispy and so delicious with every bite. The service was friendly, quick and the price reasonable. We could recommend this place. read more

What was to be a special cake wasn't all it was a blank caves of a cake. I bought in my cake topper on July 20th and a girl ask me the name I told and when the date of cake. Now July 22 a big day for me and my husband 25th anniversary party. The cake arrived I took one look at it and said where is the cake topper no one new, I was so upset just a blank cake. And there was to more flowers on the cake to surround the cake topper. I did go back the next day to get the cake topper and let then know what happened and all I got was a sorry.. this cake costs $110 . We will no longer be going there.. read more

Lovely, old-school bakery located on a side street in suburban Emerson, NJ. I was getting car service recently; Rispoli's is within walking distance of the dealer, so why not? My favorite test of an Italian Bakery is the shell-shaped, sweet ricotta filled pastry called 'sfogliatelle'. Delicious, A+ on that. I took another sweet pastry (pasticiotti) to go, and that was delicious. There were many other Italian pastries and cookies available. And that's pretty much it, a fairly traditional Italian Bakery for pastries, cookies, and cakes. Definitely recommended if you're in the area and have a sweet tooth. Close neighbors of mine surprised me recently with a birthday cake. They surprised me with my fav cake - tiramisu. Now the only tiramisu I usually go for is from Whole Foods (which is very creamy by the way) or I will order it from a dessert menu from a reputable venue/restaurant. I would NEVER eat a tiramisu from just any bakery nor a regular market/supermarket. (They just don't know how to make A proper tiramisu). What a surprise to find out that my girls got me a tiramisu cake from an actual bakery! I was worried at first because it looked like a regular cake. Not the wet/moist, tiramisu I'm used to, however, a delightful surprise! What a satisfaction it was to taste the richness-not too moist-yet not dry by ANY means -but absolutely delicious! It was sweet but not too sweet, with the perfect texture and flavors of a tiramisu cake!! Thanks for a lovely cake! (Don't have pictures). I decided to pop into Rispoli's to get some treats for family and friends. Surprisingly, I've never needed to go before even though I'm local, so it was long overdue. There is parking available on the side of the building and I had no issue getting a spot around 4:30 in the afternoon. The shop itself is quite large and the glass cases of goodies are easy to view. I can't imagine how busy this spot must be during peak hours and how they maintain order since there's no queue, but thankfully that wasn't an issue. I ended up buying five small pastries, which came to $10. It's all very reasonably priced and each of the items were a hit with the receivers. The woman who assisted me at the counter was also great with helping me place my order, making it an easy transaction for my first visit. My friend's mom introduced me to Rispoli's because I have an undying love for cannolis and tricolor (aka rainbow) cookies. Oh man, this bakery DOES NOT disappoint. The cannoli shell is always crisp, the filling is not too sweet and really brings out the flavor of the ricotta. Their tricolor cookies stay fresh and soft for days after. I also enjoy their Nut Pasticiottini, cherry pasticiottini and sprinkle cookies. Nothing I've tried is overly sugary or artificially flavored. A quarter pound of tricolor cookies runs me about $11, buying one cookie of each available type for an assortment is about $10, and the mini pastries are $2 each. If you're going to complain about high prices, just go to Shoprite *eyeroll*. Keep in mind you're here for the QUALITY. The shop is medium sized, and during holidays it gets jam packed with a line out the door. The line moves quick because they staff appropriately before big holidays, and all the counter staff are friendly, helpful and fast. Street parking is available, and there's a smaller lot on the side of the building. I'd recommend stopping in for a whole lot of treats :) read more
