Fabulous place with a creative twist on Asian Carribean food! Small restaurant with a nice, eclectic vibe. Really cool staff and delicious food. It's a bit pricy but worthwhile. (Not so much the drinks). Highly recommend the 3 patties, and the pineapple bun burger. The combination of the salty smash burger patties and the sweet flaky pineapple bun is to die for. Frozen patties are available for purchase next door too!

Over priced mediocre food not even worth the value small portion size. Got the 2 person platter. 2 started good items Brussel sprouts good the calamari with aloi. The rest not worth it for 99$. Cabbage coleslaw , peas and rice, crushed marinated cucumber very spicy. Cornbread not bad not super exciting crispy crumbly exterior herb butter decent. Chicken was small got a leg and a breast very small pickles in a paper sauce thing they give out at McDonald's for condiments. For 100$ I didn't even get steak, lobster or shrimp. + Up charge 10$ for oxtail. I could have similar food at a Caribbean resto take out and not have to pay half this price. Tables were very small, very noisy blasting music to a point where I have to shout across the small table to hear your friend. Could not even hear what th host said the items were that came to the table. Washrooms narrow downstairs and very narrow washroom stalls. Floors were wet as sink was super tiny. Decorations semi decent. Nice bar table in the front. Servers were okay no issues. Not worth the price save your money go else where. Don't understand the hype. Full on Friday evening. I don't see the fusion on the foods Jamaican-Asian not really there it's one or the other. It's a miss for me.

I can't lie. The customer service here was really nice. And I did like the restaurant outlay itself. I wouldn't say there's much of an ambiance there, but it's definitely a Vibe and can make you feel comfortable. But I must say the food was very mediocre. I'm happy I went here during summerlicious because of I spent full price for the food that I ate I would have left. Very upset. I would not recommend this place nor will I be going back.

my first time trying Jamaican chinese food. and patties! It kind of reminds me of an empanada! really yummy and the dough was soft and bready ~ fillings were great too and loved the dipping sauces we also got jerk chicken chow mein! super cool fusion food! lowkey idk what jerk chicken is supposed to taste like so idk if im credible but I enjoyed the food for dessert we finished w a hk style French toast! One of my favorite things to eat in hk and I was surprised to see it offered here. the bread was layered with a cookie spread and it was so sweet and indulgent. just a bit heavy on the sauce so I think if I were to do it again, I'd ask for less the place is super vibey and has a specific charm to it! it feels hipster but in a good way? feel like it's casual but also can be elevated for special occasions! service was stellar!! our waitress was really friendly and nice and conversational! overall, I think this was a great introduction to Chinese Jamaican food bc it was very much satisfying :)

Went to Patois for dinner and enjoyed the unique Asian-Caribbean fusion food. My friend and I ordered the oxtail mac and cheese with kimchi and the jerk chicken chow mein. The mac and cheese was excellent--rich, flavorful, and perfectly done. The chow mein, however, was a bit underwhelming and lacked flavour. That said, the overall experience was positive. The service was quick and friendly, and while it was quiet when we arrived, the place was packed by the time we left. I'd definitely go back to try more dishes, as everything around us looked great and other diners seemed to be enjoying their meals.

This place was an absolute highlight of visiting Toronto. Recommended by a local Toronto resident - I was impressed with this one. The ambiance of the location when you walk in is pretty nice. The myriad of food options we ordered came on a round spinner in the center of the table, allowing us to share food very easily. So we ordered all types of things that were all amazing. The food is a mix of Asian/Carribbean fusion, which was a new thing for me, but I was so full & left wanting more still! It didn't photograph well, but the most memorable thing I got was the cookie butter french toast that was one of the most delicious desserts I've gotten at a restaurant in a long long time. Could definitely do this again.

This establishment is located steps away from Bathurst and Dundas. I love the atmosphere here, it's a great place to have drinks with friends/ more casual date. Their food is fusion of Chinese and Jamaican food. I tried their pineapple burger which was $27.5. Although their food is on the pricier side, I do feel like their food is a solid 7/10. I would come back with a bigger group of friends next time, and order a bunch of things to share. The table next to us ordered their Jerk Chicken Chow Mein ($27) and it looks very appetizing/ great value!

the food was delicious and our server did great! However, it started off with a bad welcoming. I was running late for our reservation at 7pm due to Toronto traffic, policy is to hold for 15 mins but to call if running late. So I called 3 times at 6:45 left a voicemail and again at 6:54 and 7:10 and no answer. Then I get a call back at 7:26 and they said they gave our table up even though we were 2 minutes away. I understand policy but to not pick up your phone and call me to say you gave the table up and that your phone was upstairs...what is the point of calling then... Anyways, the food and drinks were good. Started with the Patios House Beer and Island storm. Also got the Jerk Pork Belly Yakisoba, Kingston Calamari, and Ox Tail Mac And Cheese. Our favourite was the Jerk Pork Yakisoba. It came with 3 long pieces of pork and a full plate of noodles. The calamari had such a soft breading yet crispy. The sauce was at the bottom so it was a little hard to get to for the first few bites. The Oxtail Mac and cheese had a lot of cheese and creamy; I didn't get too much ox tail in the dish but it's fine. Very filling! Price wasn't too bad for the amount of food we got! Space is small but it looked like it accommodated big groups (6+) and fit a lot of tables.

Reservations! This place was packed and they take their reservations seriously. My friend wanted to try this fusion Chinese Jamaican food because it's a unique combo you don't see much. Staff is pretty friendly. We didn't have reservations and opted to wait out any no shows and they were still attentive to us. We decided to sit outdoors instead of standing in the doorway. It was a rainy day so only one other party was dining in the covered outdoor seating. It kind of stormed so seats were little soaked but the hostess got us paper towels to wipe them down. We waited about an hour and gave up, deciding to dine outside since that didn't require reservations. Our only concern was the food getting rained on when they brought it out but the rain cooperated. I think my favorite was the burger that used a pineapple top bun as the bun. Hilarious fusion take and the one must try item. It was pretty good, not life changing but a must try once for those who grew up with pineapple buns and anyone who likes the sweet and savory mix. To those weirded out by combo, don't be a jerk chicken. We also went with the crispy noodle dish since we saw someone else order that. The sauce is pretty strong but it was good overall. Last dish we got was spare ribs. Pretty similar to the honey spare ribs you find at some dim sum places except coated and deep fried in what I assume is Jamaican seasoning. If you've never tried Jamaican food, I guess prepare yourself for flavor overload. I don't mean that in a bad way, just saying that since my friends were surprised by it.

The food here was delicious. We tried the brunch menu (so it didn't have a lot of the most commonly reviewed items) and opted for a Create Your Own Ultimate Brunch with two items and a side ($48). I think that's cheaper than if you bought everything separately, but maybe just by a few bucks? We chose the Patois Eggs Benny and Fried Chicken and Waffles, and the Trini Mac Pie (+$6). So in all, our meal was $54 and around $70 including tax and tip. The chicken and waffles was AMAZING - the cornbread waffles were such a great texture and flavour, and the chicken was seasoned perfectly. I seriously could have had a bucket of chicken. The one issue I had was that the sweet waffles kept attracting wasps, and we weren't even seated outside! We ended up scarfing down our food in 10 minutes to escape them. But other than that, 100% recommend the chicken and waffles. The Eggs Benny was good, but nothing too special. The use of the Jamaican patty as the base was definitely interesting, but it had become a bit soggy. The Trini Mac Pie was honestly really good but it was a bit unfortunate we had to pay a $6 upcharge for it as I didn't think including it in the $48 would be crazy, given the size of each dish. Overall, I definitely recommend Patois. Next time I'll come for dinner and try some of the more hyped items!

The posters outside caught my eye, and I decided to come back with a group of three friends to try it out. We came a bit late around 8 PM, and most of the fish were already sold out except the original. We ended up ordering the Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($40), a whole fish served bubbling hot with three toppings (potatoes, spam, and lotus root). You can choose between catfish and turbot, we chose the turbot fish. It looked extremely spicy, but the spice level was actually perfect. It was a bit on the oily side, but pairing it with rice balanced it out nicely. The fish was very tender and buttery, everything tasted amazing! We also ordered the Stir-Fried Egg with Tomato. The eggs were soft, the tomato sauce was rich. Not to mention the portion size was huge, we even had leftovers after eating until we were full. The restaurant itself was spacious, clean, and had plenty of seating. I think they were doing some sort of promotion so they gave us a $25 off coupon, though it expired pretty quickly so we didn't get to use it. I'd definitely come back for that grilled fish.

A few of their dishes come out on a sizzling plate with flames underneath. They are still in soft-opening mode with several specials. You can see the menus via a QR code. The Hunan cuisine is listed as "Hunan Noodles" and the Szechuan cuisine is listed as "Chopfire Menu". The Szechuan dishes are listed with 1 to 3 chilies representing the spiciness. If you can't handle spicy, then avoid eating the chili pieces and you might "survive". The restaurant decided to minimize their food offerings so that they can focus on refining their dishes in terms of quality and taste, including from customer feedback. We ordered the following: 1. Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($39.95). 2. Home Stir Fried Beef ($21.95). 3. Bullfrog with Baby Ginger ($19.95). 4. Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Pork ($15.95). 5. Drunk Oolong (charcoal roasted oolong tea base) x 2 ($5.95 x 2). 6. Lemon Taro Balls ($7.95). We also saw the following: 7. Stir-Fried Sliced Pork with Green Pepper Noodle Soup ($9.99). First 10 customers each day, only pays $1.00. 8. Ink Painting Cocktail ($5.95). The Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish came out on a huge sizzling platter. The BBQ Fish, a Turbot Fish, was very fresh and flaky, easily coming off the bone. There is no head attached like at typical Chinese restaurants but it would not have fit in the platter. The platter had a delicious sauce (soupy consistency and not sweet), luncheon meat slices, lotus root slices, and two other vegetables, along with chili pieces. The entire dish tasted great together with the various flavours. The menu listed it as 2-chili spicy but I could handle it by avoiding the chili pieces. The Home Stir Fried Beef is tender. It is listed as 3-chili but I could handle it by avoiding the chili pieces. The Bullfrog with Baby Ginger has the bullfrog cut up in little pieces; no you don't see a whole frog! The meat was actually good but most pieces have bones in it, so it takes time to eat it carefully. There was ginger slices in it but it, but we thought the slices were quite large! The Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Pork was very delicious! It came in a sizzling plate. The Cauliflower was flavourful and was not crunchy and not too soft. I've never had preserved pork slices before; it was quite good, not as salty as Chinese preserved vegetables. The Drunk Oolong has comes in a small bowl a with gin and ice. On the side, they include pieces of the charcoal roasted oolong tea leaves so you can smell it; quite a good smell indeed. You can also order it without the gin, which is what I ordered for mine (since I don't drink alcohol). It was such a nice drink! The Lemon Taro Balls dessert was pretty. In the centre was a slice of lemon. The customer service was good. There is plenty of indoor table and counter seating, including a small private room at the back. There is also an outdoor patio during warmer weather. There is pop music playing in the background. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are two gender-neutral washrooms downstairs, so they are not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-026

Finally back for dim sum…read more First off, they need to fix their reservation system. Don't accept 1:45pm reservations if the dining room closes at 2pm. Also, when we call to check if dim sum is being served, it makes sense to inform us of the dining room closure instead of having us come in anyway. We settled for eating in the lounge which ended up being good because bartender, Aiki?, was excellent as our server. Really great. Ordered the following: King prawn Har gow: standard. Not worth the premium Mott charges. Miso black cod dumpling: not good. Wouldn't order again Shredded Peking Duck Spring Roll, Sliced Vegetable : Excellent. We loved this! Nice and crunchy. Delicious duck inside. Good vinegar dipping sauce. Good volume Hot & Sour Iberico Pork Shanghainese Soup Dumplings: Fantastic and unique. The dumplings don't really need dipping sauce since inside there is a hot and sour soup along with pork. These are unique and delicious. Fried Wagyu beef taro croquette : pretty good but really tasted like a Jamaican patty Cold noodle with shredded duck : very generous with meat. Honestly a lot more than any other restaurant that serves this. To be fair no one charges this much either so it should. Flavour could be stronger but certainly decent. Fresh Mango, Coconut, Glutinous Rice Roll: nice fresh dessert. Our favourite. Frozen xiao long bao with chocolate and nut: Tastes like a mochi. Not bad. Dragonball Zen - fun name. Delicious drink. Jasmine Dragon Ball Infused Tanqueray Gin / Peach Liquor Lime / Rose Water / Mint / Seltzer Over $200 for this meal before tip. It's premium an debatable if with it. Will be back but just occasionally.
