Efficient and relatively unobtrusive quick service for the eye check. Glasses are expensive! But that is everywhere I suppose.

This was, by far, the best experience I've had…read more Mount Pleasant Optometry is a facility that has such a beautiful, modern feel with such a friendly, welcoming staff. From start to finish, I felt all my questions were answered and had such a thorough exam and even had a seemless transition to the optical staff. The selection is extensive and was happily able to find multiple options for glasses as well as being able to provide the latest and greatest technology. Heidi and Aasa were exceptionally helpful - taking care of our needs and going above and beyond with helping me for my issues. They were so nice and knowledgeable and will be sure to tell everyone to come here! Overall, this is an office of genuinely helpful people who will take care of all your eyecare needs!

I've given up on accountability after 6 exhausting months of dealing with this place! I have…read moreSilhouette frames and after my eye exam, I ordered 4 sets of lenses for 4 frames. initially I ordered one pair, and before knowing that I was going to order add lenses, the optician who was dealing with me, told me that my newer frame wasn't good enough to use again. That was my cue to take my business elsewhere...but I didn't. Interestingly, when I ordered additional lenses and spending a lot more, those frames became usable again. I spent $3,300. on 4 sets of lenses. I'm happy with 1 pair, which thankfully are my daily glasses and the only pair that I ordered that had no changes to the shape or colour. The only pair that was exactly what I ordered. One out of four. I wanted an orange tint, but I got rose tinted instead. I ordered plain rectangle reading glasses, but got designer lenses and paid $300. more than I was quoted. I still don't know why! I asked the optician for a breakdown of my readers, I wanted to know why they cost that much more. I received an email with the invoices for my glasses with no explanation. I then asked the supervisor the same. I received more questions from her. I still have no idea why I paid $300. more for designer readers that I didn't order and don't like! But because they are readers that I grossly overpaid for, I'm leaving them as is. The rose tinted lenses and the sunglasses are not what I wanted and so I'll be spending another $2000. maybe less because this place is pricey, somewhere else to get what i want. No accountability, poor communication, pricey. They've lost 30+ years of my business and I can't in good conscience recommend spending your hard earned money here.

This optician rates somewhere between 3 and 4 stars, but I'm rounding up…read more I love Costco and so I decided to get an eye exam here. You can't beat Costco quality or price, in my opinion, so I reckoned that would be extended to its service departments. And I wasn't totally wrong. My eye exam cost under $100 here, and I got an appointment in short time, and the eye doctor was professional and did all the tests needed. I guess I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to being on the receiving end of professional services. I don't expect doctors' and dentists' offices to be like the Taj Mahal; still, I don't expect them to be sterile, white rooms with no artwork at all on the walls, with piles of brown, cardboard boxes stacked against the wall. I admit it, I expected more from Costco. The two exam rooms I was in would be more in keeping with a doctor located in some back alley somewhere. But yes, they had all the machines needed, and everything worked and was clean, so I can't complain about the professional tools and appliances here. I mentioned my eye doctor was professional. And this is true. But I didn't get the warm fuzzies from her, that's for sure. There was no small talk, no little verbal niceties. She was curt at times, cutting me off when I was chatting, or when describing the differences in various lens options in anything more than a three word response. I admit, I don't like being cut off or interrupted like that, repeatedly. It feels dismissive. So yes, the doctor was professional, did all she needed to do to examine my eyes, and I felt like my exam covered all the basics, and I received my new prescription in hand. But I was in and out in 30 minutes or less, and it as as impersonal an exam as I've ever had. (I am not getting new frames here, or contacts, so I cannot speak to these services here). I'd recommend this place if one wants a low cost, bare bones-type of approach to their eye care and if one doesn't care to be treated in a special way. I know folks who don't care if they don't get the "personal touch", as long as a place does what it's supposed to do and is reasonably priced. This optometrist is for them.

I'm not sure as to why the lady at the front desk treated my father and I rudely. The moment I…read moreapproached her and requested to buy contacts, asking her a simple question or two because I don't often buy contacts at Costco, she gave us an annoyed attitude and did not make an effort to help us. This lady wore fake lashes and a mask. What confused me more is that my father and I are Filipino, and so is this lady. Why is she being rude to her own kind? Either way, I ended up buying contact lenses from somewhere else outside of Costco and will not be purchasing an optical products from Costco moving forward.

The staff member who helpd us was great, super knowledgeable with their recommendations. They do direct billing to insurance companies, and they have a nice selection. My partner ordered glasses and had them fitted and is very pleased. I will be ordering from them myself soon, we both have high prescriptions so we don't get the 2 for X$ deals because we need thin lenses, but none the less walking away paying $375 instead of the 600-700 at lenscrafters? amazing!

I used to go to the traditional optician where you pay upwards of $1,000 for frames/lenses. I was…read moreskeptical that a chain of much less costly frames would offer the same quality and knowledge in both product and customer service. I was WRONG. The day I went to the Main Street location for an exam was very busy with about 10+ customers. Staff were swamped and perhaps feeling the pressure of needing to attend to everyone without making them wait too long. I didn't wait too long and felt confident in the optician who did the examination. The person who helped me with frames did not rush me, was focused on what I needed despite all of the other customers milling around and was super friendly, helpful and efficient. Main Street can have a bad rep of being a bit snobby, but this was the friendliest shop I've ever been to on Main aside from Red Cat. It was actually disarming how friendly and unpretentious they were. The Manager was also so helpful, professional and very knowledgeable and I could tell he was totally on top of things and knew how to operate the business with the technical knowledge for the type of business it is. It felt like he actually cared about his staff, customers and how well this location performed. Superb job in a very challenging time when staff are hard to find, retain and keep happy. I'll admit that I originally went to another location where the staff looked through a big manual to answer my questions and I left not ordering anything because I didn't feel confident in what they were telling me. I totally recommend the Main Street location.
