We wanted to check out Westfield and walked in to Patrica & Paul - Artisians of fine oils and balsamics. The owner was decorating for the fall season and everything was so clean and beautiful arranged. We sampled a few oils before settling on the Tuscan herb. I can't wait to see what hubby will do with it! The cinnamon honey was so delicious but I have many honeys at home so will have to go back when I need some new flavors. The oils and vinegars here are very nice and available to sample which I love. But the woman who was working there was not the friendliest person despite asking if I needed any help. In a customer service environment, warmth goes such a long way and that wasn't at all the experience here. The reason I'm writing this review though is this. They will offer to wrap 2 to 3 bottles for you if you're giving for a gift, but will not tell you you're paying for the box, or that because they're putting it in a box, you'll then pay tax for it. I didn't realize until I got home and happened to notice on the receipt. Eg. She put 2 small bottles in a box. They are normally $15.95 each and not taxed (food item). Once she put them in a box, the price went up over 20% higher to $20.23 each. Charge what you'd like as a business, but perhaps consider transparency for your customers. This felt deceitful, which is irksome when you're already paying a premium for the products. I purchased the Sicilian lemon white balsamic and tangerine balsamic for myself, (both were very nice and smooth) and 2 others as a gift. Total was $91.04 for 3 small bottles and 1 medium bottle. Parking: If you're not familiar with the parking situation in Westfield, it's not great. There is a pay lot across the street that's priced reasonably (bring quarters), and if you come during the week it shouldn't be long before a spot opens up. Expect to circle the area to find parking if you're coming on a weekend. Products are good but not sure if I'll return. Honest practices and friendly service really means a lot to me. read more

I was very impressed with my first shopping experience at Patricia and Paul's. They have great gifts at reasonable prices. I definitely recommend to any foodie or someone who likes to cook. They let you sample the oil and vinegars with bread. There are so many to choose from it is a bit overwhelming. The girls in the shop were very helpful and gave great recommendations. Great specialty store with more than just olive oil. I love the spreads and jams from Italy......and their olive oil is high quality. The Arbequina is so good, you can drink it! Balsamics are from MODENA, which is where they should be from! They wrap beautifully, and go the extra mile. read more

I've got no problem with the fine oils. Nor do I have a problem with the balsamics. Both are what you would expect from a place with the word "artisans" in the title. But the staff on hand that day certainly wasn't the A team. Although I live within a 5 mile radius of downtown Westfield, the traffic flow and parking grief considerably limit my visits. Patricia & Paul was impressive enough to warrant a revisit. The shop is large, attractive and well arranged with oils, vinegar and a small selection of interesting gourmet items. Both the store and its personnel were welcoming and focused upon quality products. Stocked with a wide variety of olive oils from around the world, flavored oils and balsamics and non-balsamic vinegars, shoppers may sample freely. Their products are predominantly house-labeled bottlings from the same Veronica Foods importers found in many high-end retail settings, and are very good. The shopping experience is pleasant, and aided by very knowledgeable guidance, including the assistance of Patricia. Together with Savory Spice Shop, I now have two reasons to return to downtown Westfield when our kitchen pantry is running low. read more

We stopped by here for the first time today since we were running low on olive oil. It reminds me very much of Carter & Cavero, which has a location in Summit. There are vats of olive oil and vinegars along the wall, with tasting cups and samples of bread and crackers to taste. I love that you can sample the goods before you purchase them. The store also stocks a variety of other goods like pasta, olives, pestos, jams, etc. The stuff can run a little expensive (I picked up a jar of key lime spread for $10.50), but it's not stuff you're likely to find in a regular grocery store. The store also has a little kitchen for kids to play at which my daughter loved. And I loved it because she could play there while my husband or I looked around. I'm looking forward to heading back here and checking out some of the other products they have. read more

My only regret about my visit here was not getting the name of the young lady who was soooo helpful. With so many choices of oils and vinegars my wife and I spent alot of time in the store thinking of things we could use them for. The young lady seemed to have tried everything in the store and had suggestions on how they could be used. Unfortunitly they are not sampling at the moment so we had to rely on her feedback. We bought some flavored oils and balsomic vingergars Bought an expreesso vinegar which I am looking forward to marinating with steak as soon as grilling season is here. Also bought a couple of the spice packets and used an Asain one for pork chops the next day and it was amazing. Saw some tequila related items that we did buy but put on my wish list for father's day, birthday etc (hint hint). The store was not crowed on a Saturday afternoon but my guess this young lady is able to divide her time and experience equally when it is. Was walking past after having lunch with my mother and children. When I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the entire family, not to mention that my children had their own little kitchen to play in. We tasted Balsamics that lifted you off your feet and oils that would make any dish better. Highly recommend that EVERYONE stops in to see, taste and touch this great fine! read more

Amazing oils & vinegars ! I Own 8 different oils and 5 vinegars. My favorites are Wild mushroom with sage oil, orange oil, truffle oil, sesame oil, honey ginger white balsamic, lemon white balsamic and dark chocolate balsamic. Beautiful shop in the heart of Westfield. The staff is knowledgable and very courteous,and Patricia is a pleasure to meet. This is not a price driven shop,but rather a gourmet shop with high end,high quality products one will not find at their local supermarket. The balsamic vinegars are wonderful! You can sample the various delicious flavors and different olive oils in the store. So far Tangerine is my favorite, followed by Black Mission Fig. A bottle makes a great gift and Patricia, who is lovely and quite personable, packages it just beautifully. the black mission fig balsamic is hands down the BEST balsamic I have ever tasted. The selection is un paralleled and I love that you can sample many of their products to MAKE SURE you love it. Charming gourmet shop with a huge variety of delicious olive oils and balsamic vinegars. In addition, they also have many other treats like pastas, gift baskets, etc. Best of all, they have bread so that you may taste everything before you buy it.
