Liked both types of Kielbasa. Both are delicious. Blood sausage is similar to Scottish black pudding and is great with eggs.

Excellent Kielbasa and shipping was prompt. Used to go in person but nice to know that since I've relocated can still get the best kielbasa

Product is excellent but the cost of shipping limits how many orders I can place.

Recently I made it a point to visit to pick up a sandwich for lunch and I'm really glad I did! Al's is very clean and welcoming. When you walk in the cashier counter is to the left, set at a right angle to that is the deli counter where sandwiches are assembled. The menu is mounted on the wall towards the back. To the right is a seating area. Across from the cashier is a fridge with various pasta dishes ready to heat up and eat along with some baked goods and lots of different kinds of chips to go with your sammich. I wound up ordering the Red & White Russian which includes Roast Beef, Turkey, Swiss, Horseradish, Deli Mustard, Lettuce, Tomato & Onion. You can have it pressed by request but I did not do so. I also ordered a side order of macaroni salad. The Red & White Russian was really good! The size was perfect and the bread was soft and chewy. There was a good amount of meat and cheese and I really liked the mustard and horseradish flavors. The macaroni salad was great. I would definitely get both of these again! I'm glad I made it a point to stop at Al's and I plan to do so again in the future!

I just wish they weren't so darn expensive. I don't begrudge anyone a living, but yesterday I purchased three veal shanks to make osso buco for three. It was delicious, but $90...really? No wonder nothing here has the prices posted. I guess if you have to ask, you can't afford it. I'll continue to shop here as necessary, but also buy my meat at Pat's, around the corner, Barth's Market in New Providence, Wegman's in Woodbridge, and now, Union Pork Store, on Morris Ave.

My aunt asked me to come here to pick her up freshly sliced bacon, she has been raving about it for years. I wasn't planning on getting everything else, but mentioned in passing to the guy behind the counter that I would buy a half pint of vodka sauce, but they only had full pints out. The guy asked me to hand me a full pint, and he put it in a half sized container and charged me half. I've literally never had that happen anywhere. Most people would've just said "oh that's too bad." This is definitely an old school butcher, don't expect to see state of the art scales, or beautifully written menus. You don't come here for that, you come here for the products. I see other reviews regarding prices not being marked, the owners definitely saw that because most items had prices per lb. All the prepared food was clearly marked. A lot of the reviews here are outdated. Shop small and local, give them a shot. They need your business more than Whole Foods, or the major chain grocery stores.

In a customer service environment, warmth goes such a long way and that wasn't at all the experience here. The reason I'm writing this review though is this. They will offer to wrap 2 to 3 bottles for you if you're giving for a gift, but will not tell you you're paying for the box, or that because they're putting it in a box, you'll then pay tax for it. I didn't realize until I got home and happened to notice on the receipt. Eg. She put 2 small bottles in a box. They are normally $15.95 each and not taxed (food item). Once she put them in a box, the price went up over 20% higher to $20.23 each. Charge what you'd like as a business, but perhaps consider transparency for your customers. This felt deceitful, which is irksome when you're already paying a premium for the products. I purchased the Sicilian lemon white balsamic and tangerine balsamic for myself, (both were very nice and smooth) and 2 others as a gift. Total was $91.04 for 3 small bottles and 1 medium bottle. Parking: If you're not familiar with the parking situation in Westfield, it's not great. There is a pay lot across the street that's priced reasonably (bring quarters), and if you come during the week it shouldn't be long before a spot opens up. Expect to circle the area to find parking if you're coming on a weekend. Products are good but not sure if I'll return. Honest practices and friendly service really means a lot to me.
