While the surroundings are a little…read morebit ugly, it is right off a major highway (hwy 10), so it is convenient for folks who live in this area. My doctor practices from this location and I would follow her anywhere. The receptionists are usually pleasant. This is really nice given the stresses of working in a medical office. The waiting area is large and clean with a big-screen TV, various magazines and a few toys for children. Rarely have I had a long wait when I come here. The average time of my entire appointment is about 1 hour to 1.5 hours. That includes waiting for the Doctor before the appointment, talking with her about my health (and asking questions) and checking out afterward. This office has been always efficient and respectful of my schedule at every interaction. If a service is promised, such as calling a specialist to make an appointment for me, it is completed and I am given the pertinent information in a timely manner. My physician (Dr. Rondo) is considerate and thorough. She asks questions, listens to the my answers and makes positive suggestions for a healthy lifestyle. In every appointment, I have always felt that I was her only patient that day. She always listens to my issues and never rushes through the appointment. While I know that I could drive a much shorter distance to see a primary care physician, I prefer to drive here so that I can receive considerate, thorough and attentive care.

About a year ago I had pretty extensive damage to my finger and from my first visit I knew I had made a good choice. Dr. Nicoson was able to explain everything to me concisely and laid out realistic expectations. Workman's comp was giving me problems authorizing the surgery but the front desk staff sorted it out and kept me in the loop the entire time. In fact every time I've needed to communicate something with the staff it blows my mind every time how fast they get back with me. They have a physical therapist in the office as well who is amazing! I was in there three days a week for PT for several months and from right off the bat I felt like part of a family in that office. By the third visit they were calling my wife by her nick-name! This office has it figured out. Super genuine and super competent people. If you need a hand/wrist doctor do not look anywhere else.

Hard to review a place when they will not return your calls or text messages. I tried multiple times over a week period, I did finally reach someone but the message I left was in vain (never returned). So I decided to go back to his original group (Louisville Bone and Joint0 where my call was received within 30 seconds of hold time. I have an appointment next week. If the physician is half as attentive as the support staff, I am in goods hands.

I know this flies in the face of the seemingly endless 5 star reviews elsewhere, but the office…read morestaff is either woefully understaffed or incompetent. I am in constant significant back pain with a herniated disc, and I was referred to Dr. Vermuri to get an epidural injection ASAP. Meeting with Dr. Vermuri went fine and he said to schedule an epidural with his staff. I was told by his staff when checking out that I would hear back from the scheduling person within one to two days. After three days I called to find out when my epidural was scheduled for since I had not heard anything. I was told by someone named Amy that it is typically a week or more before an appointment can even be scheduled, and that they were currently running three weeks out AFTER you were scheduled. When I asked why in the world it takes a week to even get a procedure scheduled, I was told "the only person that schedules epidurals is Heidi, and she can take a week or more to schedule a procedure since she multitasks like the rest of us and has many other duties beside scheduling." So, I am in constant stabbing pain and at the mercy of a single multitasking "when she can get around to it" scheduler to even get on the books. That is one star. Appalling.

So when I was in need of immunizations for an upcoming trip to India, I was in a bind. I called a couple offices under my insurance, and the soonest I could get in as a new patient would be months after my trip. That was the case when I called Norton Community Medical Associates in Mid City Mall too, but the clerk there was able to get me in the following morning due to a cancellation at their sister site on Barret Avenue. And that's how I met Dr. Ana Overley. She was quick and efficient. Chatting with me about my overall health needs, while also getting me what I needed for my trip, which ended up being three vaccinations and some malaria pills. I also appreciate that she didn't redo a bunch of basic dianostic tests and bloodwork that I just had done at my ob/gyn. She just asked that I get a copy and bring the results with the next time I come in. Done. She was easy to talk to and put me at ease. And the staff person, who gave me my shots, also deserves some commendation. I'm not a big fan of needles, and I did not feel the needles go into my arm. Fast and relatively pain-free -- that's what I want when I must get a shot. The office was also immaculately clean. The front desk staff was courteous. I feel better knowing that I now have a primary care office near my home I can rely on.
