Had to review to leave a menu photo! Super plus sandwich shop for me, being pregnant, I can actually get a sandwich with meat since they have rotisserie chicken and not processed chicken like deli meat yay! Great little spot to bring for a picnic around Jasper!

Best damn sandwich I've ever had. Period. The staff was super friendly, helpful and likable. The place is tiny but mighty. Bottom line: just go there. Plenty to choose from and they'll help you if you don't know what you want. House made meats and sauces. Totally divine. We will be back before we leave town! Thanks guys!

This place is very tiny. It's tucked inside the walkway of the two-story building. Right in front of the elevators they have tables set out side. There's no seating inside the shop . It' just a cute mom and Pop sandwich shop. They make their own roast beef and rotisserie chicken in house. It's a made to order sandwich shop similar to making your own sub at subway. You pick your bread, wrap, multigrain, or white hoagie, then you add your sauce and meat choice of: turkey, roast, beef, rotisserie chicken. And then you add all your veggies. There's no prices so I'm not sure how they calculate your meal, all I know is it's pretty pricey. We got only 3 sandwiches and 1 serving of the mini pot pie 54$ that's with no drink or chips or anything. Service was ok, they got busy after we walked in and it seemed like we were being rushed and they didn't take their time with our order. The multigrain bread serving was a lot bigger than the white bread hoagie. It seemed like double size. A lot better deal. If I knew that I would have not chose white bread. Once you put all the ingredients on there, the sandwiches are pretty good. But the white bread was little hard and dry, so not get this!! My daughter doesn't really care for sandwiches and we saw some chicks pot pie in the fridge, I asked if I could get it heated the help didn't know and had to go ask.... I should have known it's not a big seller if she didn't know. He heated did end up heating it up for us. It tasted ok but much more dry than other pot pies. There's no sauce in it and the meat is also dry wouldn't get that again either.

Sandos were delicious with so many choices and the folks at the deli were very friendly! They bake their own rolls which were so good!

A MUST. I'm a sandwich gal and this was the BEST sandwich I have ever had & one of my top meals while driving through Canada. Such a cute spot, amazing customer service, these girls KNOW their sandwiches. My husband and I went in with no wait time. The girl fixing us up was giving my husband suggestions on what to put on his roast beef & salsa verde sandwich. It was right then that I knew I was going to just have her pick for me. I got a Turkey on their soft whole grain bread. She loaded it up with cranberry sauces and tons of veggies I would have never though of picking. Both sandwiches were out of this world & I am willing to make the drive to Canada just for this food. Thank you to the wonderful staff! You rock!

Okay, YUM! I made it just in time before they closed and I'm glad I did. The white subway bread they use is unique and we got it when it was warm and crispy. The guys working there were great and made an awesome recommendation (cranberry spread combined with the garlic sauce!). My only regret is not coming here at the beginning of my trip so that I could try different sandwich combos.

I stopped by for an early dinner of the Holiday Turkey sandwich, which is my go to. I don't know why other shops don't sell something like this. It's like American Thanksgiving in sandwich form. Luckily there's always lots of street parking nearby and it's walkable. I couldn't decide on what to order so I ordered them all to share for the 3 of us. My favourites were the beef dip and the caprese! The beef dip was phenomenal and it was beefy and cheesy at the same time. I like how you can upgrade your combo for $3.49 or $4.49 for an extra side. I got a Mac n cheese and it was definitely super cheesy! The brownie was very moist and satisfying! It's just like the sandwiches in the USA. And I'm glad it's available in yeg. Its alot better than subway. And frankly the unique options make this place. I have yet to try the turkey stuffing sandwich. It sounds so delicious!

PALS!!! I have been a huge fan since their opening day in 2022 and it's about time that I finally…read morewrite about them! Part of the venerable Strathcona restaurant monopoly of The Next Act (the OG), Meat (the meaty one), Pip (the brunchy one), and Marlo (the taco one), Pals holds their own as the sandwich one. This five-restaurant stronghold wouldn't work if each and every one of them wasn't so dang good. But they are. Pals showed up on the scene after Pip moved across the street and there was enough room in the building to fit a delightful little sandwich shop in there as well. Pals to the left and Pip to the right - and one (beautiful) shared washroom downstairs for both. It's a pretty harmonious arrangement as far as I can tell! Pals might be a small little sandwich guy but it boasts a beautiful outdoor patio in the summertime that just about doubles the space. Named Favourite Handheld on the Edmonton Food Faves We Crave 2024 list and most recently awarded Best Sandwich 2025 in EDify Magazine, you'll also find them on the Worldwide Faves section of this very website. The interior is somewhat small but very bright and fresh. Casual light wood high-tops, counter seating, a few bench seats near the back, and the aforementioned patio. You'll also note pops of their signature yellow, especially on their unmistakable brick facade outside. The restaurant feels breezy and gives off a comfortable vibe that makes you want to "stop in to grab a quick sandwich." And maybe people-watch out the window for a few minutes. The staff is also super friendly which makes you feel like you're hanging out with your pals. (Ha! See what I did there?) Situated at a table on a Saturday evening, I was looking for the maximum Pals experience! Pals is all about the drinks and offers an impressive array of cocktails and beer, especially for such a small shop. The Winter Sangria sounded like a seasonally appropriate delight while their Caesar made with pepperoncini brine is an ideal compliment to their use of pepperoncini elsewhere on the menu. On this visit I opted for the Strathcona Sling (Gin, cherry liqueurs, orange & pineapple juice, bitters - $15.00) which not only sounded delicious but also might be the signature beverage of the entire neighbourhood. This drink sounds like it might be pretty sweet but I didn't find that about it. It's very refreshing and the grown-up flavours from the gin and bitters hold their own. What sounds like a kid's shirley temple actually tastes quite adult. This would absolutely be the quintessential patio beverage on a hot summer day during the Fringe - a cocktail that lives up to it's name. The Pals food menu is an extravaganza of sandwiches! There are fourteen different sandwiches in two categories; made hot or served fresh. There's usually a feature sandwich as well. Be prepared for sandwiches like you've never seen them before! But the snacks, soups, and salads are incredible as well and the quality certainly doesn't stop with the sandwiches alone. In an effort to dig into this part of the menu a bit more I thought it prudent to order the Soup & Salad Combo (Choice of soup & salad with house focaccia - $19.00). A great option if maybe you don't want a sandwich. Pals usually has two different soups and salads on the go so you're able to customize this dish with whatever combo you like. I chose the House Soup (dill pickle & spicy pepperoncini) and The Other House Salad (iceberg lettuce, tomato, green onion, blue cheese, bacon, buttermilk ranch). Let's start with the soup. How unique!! You've never tasted a zingy little bowl of soup like this before! I don't know about you, but I love a dill pickle soup very much (maybe it's my Eastern European ancestry) but the addition of pepperoncini totally changes the game. This soup packs a punch but in the most interesting and delicious way. And then the salad! I ordered this one because it sounded like a wedge salad (one of my favourites) without the wedge. A deconstructed wedge salad, if you will. And boy did it deliver! The flavours of tomato and bacon together are so classic and the generous chunks of crumbled blue cheese were perfection. I loved how well-dressed everything was - not a dry leaf in the house. A salad may sound like a boring thing to order but certainly not in this case. Let's not forget the focaccia which cannot be treated as an afterthought because it was incredible. This bread was impossibly light while still possessing the unctuous and oily quality that you want from a focaccia. The crust was impossibly crispy and dusted in salt. What a dream! Honestly, I know that you need to order a sandwich... But maybe you don't? I'm going to have an existential crisis about this. But yes, I obviously ordered a sandwich. This might be an unpopular opinion but I highly favour the "served fresh" sandwiches at Pals by a lot. The BLT is the best in the entire city, I swear. The Burrata is completely insane - I've never seen a stack of prosciutto so high.

I am not particulary a sandwich person when we go out. However, we did want to try the new Pals…read moreSandwiches that opened up just off of Whyte Ave. They also had the sweetest patio which happened to have a few free spots. We ordered a couple of beers (Mojito Sour) and the Italian Pilsner. My husband also ordered a cocktail (the Spicy Paloma). The cocktail was okay but overpriced. It kinda tasted like the ones that you order at a place like Boston Pizza. However, the beers were refreshing and hit the spot. Menu is basic with a variety of Sandwiches, fries, soups and salads. We decided to try two sandwiches and share them. I chose the feature of the day which was a cheddar beef sandwich with a side of tortilla soup. Hubby chose the Reuban with fries. Service was friendly and our water glasses were filled constantly. Sandwiches came out pretty fast. They were well constructed and tasty. They both had a decent amount of meat in them. Definately the Reuban was more flavourful than the cheese and beef. My soup was awesome. Hubby's fries were average. Is this the best place to get a sandwich? No. But if you want a quick bite with decent food with a lovely atmosphere, check it out.

It's the season for anything apples, so I was happy to find a caramel apple cronut & went for a classic grick middle (as per their website & one of my favs - Fried Egg, Bacon, Rosemary Aioli, Smoked Cheddah, Tomato Jam, Arugula). Sadly with a cane & a reuseable bag, I couldn't take a coffee to go (stair logistics are hard enough) but it's always a great cup when I do have a free hand. Oh, I should mention in case I've never did in previous reviews, neither of these food options are something one wants to eat when trying to look presentable. As it's deliciously messy! There's a few bar seats at this location but it's best to take your food to go. At this particular location (there's 4 locations now!) there's no accessible entrance (nor exit). Kind of baffles my mind on why they didn't build a ramp with the newer set of stairs at the exit door. I even made the comment that it's really too bad they don't use the order window on the side (like they did in the pandemic), for us that need to avoid the challenge of stairs. There's also no railings on the steps, so be sure footed in wet & winter conditions (even if you're not disabled). So as much as I love the food & coffee at Farrow, I have to leave it as it's a place I'm going to only on a randomly decent mobility day for the knees & legs.
