Patricia did a phenomenal job with my cake. I gave her a Pinterest photo and said could you replicate this?! Did she ever! Her attention to detail was amazing! She matched the exact flowers that were in my wedding! Patricia was a pleasure to work with! She asked my family if we wanted any coffee, espresso and took great care of us! For our wedding, she even customized a tier for us-Dark chocolate cake with salted caramel icing. The other tier was madagascar vanilla icing and red velvet cake. This was not your normal vanilla, this was real vanilla bean. The cake that she served us for the tasting was great, but for our wedding was even better if you can imagine! BEWARE FRAUD & COVID 19: Stay away from Patricias Cake Creations ON DUNDAS ST WEST TORONTO - SHE ACCEPTS USED EATEN CAKE FROM LARGE GATHERINGS BACK INTO HER BAKERY. She frauds people and steals their money, she NEVER refunds even if she claims she will. The cakes NEVER looks like the picture you supply. If she promises you gold foil, you will get gold spray paint. She won't let you know ahead of time - that's her game. You have to double and triple confirm everything with her or chances are you're not getting it! Supplied her a photo of a cake with a big sugar rose on it. I asked what the price was in addition to 3 macaroons. She said all in $195. Later she tried up charging me an extra $25 for 3 macaroons. She also tried to up charge an additional $25 to add a speck of gold to the flower (literally specks) but the flower had gold in the photo supplied to her. She literally will promise you that she can make it just to take your order and your money. Patricia is a FRAUD. If there's something she can't do she won't tell you just in case you change your mind and want your money/deposit back. Gave us wrong flavours, added about 20 IKEA (yes she admitted from IKEA) straws (that were to serve as dowels inside the cake) without letting us know, into our cake. In the beginning of our conversation she informed me the cake would be a hidden two tier cake and there would be a cake board in between. She felt it was important to let me know there would be a hidden cake board but failed to mentioned 20 plastic straws would be inserted in the whole bottom tier. If I had known this I would have never ordered from her for multiple reasons the main one being COVID 19 and the possible contamination. A slice with a small piece of straw was served to a child and it could have ended very tragically. We were not aware that there were hidden straws inside until the children were served cake, you can imagine how horrific that was. The straws also ripped parts of the buttercream right out of the cake. Some guests had straws in their cake. It was a complete waste as the bottom tier was completely inedible. Piping looks like an elementary school project, very unprofessional. Buttercream layers were horrific. Fat pieces, skinny pieces, no buttercream in some pieces. Just terrible. Patricia ignored my calls, finally replied 2 weeks later and offered a refund if there was any cake leftover, probably hoping the cake would be eaten by then (that's her game so she has an excuse not to refund you if you finish the cake which is why there's a large gap in response from her as shes hoping when she finally replies you ate all your cake so FREEZE your cake) I had replied that I still had the cake and I want my refund, SHE COMPLETELY STOPPED REPLYING. She never follows through with a refund even if she promises you one. Since she offered a refund and I replied asking how to go about the refund, I have not heard back from Patricia ever again. I have contacted the ministry of health and advised them about what is happening. She claims she will refund you if you return your cake for a refund (even though she claims no one is allowed in the bakery due to covid19). That's totally unacceptable as she's taking these items (boxes, cake boards, non eatable elements to the cake) back into the bakery that have been around large groups of 20+ people and where sheis preparing other cake orders. That is SO unhygienic during these uncertain times. Her mother's partner is in and out of the hospitals regularly for treatments to which her mother accompanies her partner regularly (as stated by Patricia in our email thread) yet HER MOM MAKES CAKES IN THE BAKERY!! I understand you need to care for a sick family member but you have an employee constantly in/out of hospitals and a bakery that accepts used cake from events, HOW is this okay??? From other customers who share very similar experiences if your price is at a high point she ignores your calls/emails giving enough time to eat everything hoping when she replies you won't have anything leftover. I froze the cake as she was taking forever to reply as I kind of had a feeling the delayed response was part of her plan, plus no one really ate her cake anyway it was horrible. I sent her a picture of a container full of her cake ready for a refund. I asked her where we can meet as I am NOT bringing in my used cake into her bakery to potentially contaminate other customer's orders. SHE NEVER REPLIED AGAIN. ANYONE with contact with the bakery it's probably a good idea to get tested. read more

Oh my Lordy!!! I ordered their cupcakes last minute to bring to a party, preferring to take a chance elsewhere rather than buy generic goodies from the grocery store (I can be lazy and unimaginative at times). Man did this pay off! I thought I lost the taste for cupcakes but I guess it's just been a while since I had really good ones. I'm so use to cupcakes having sickly sweet cream (that I'd often scrape off) and dry, cardboard-tasting cake. These were divine. Their cupcakes had super rich and buttery cream and the cake was moist and fluffy! I ordered a dozen but had to keep half for myself after taking a little sample. My family, neither of whom have sweet-tooths, devoured the rest. These cupcakes are to savour. read more

The owner is one of the rudest people I've ever spoken to. Quality is below average. I don't believe their squares are homemade, they're definitely previously frozen as opposed to fresh baked, and they look exactly like what the wholesale big box store sells. Ordered from here weekly for five weeks without issue because I never come in contact with the horrible owner. And then I did. Never again will I give this place my business. I know this review is late, but better late than never. Go back to November 2012, I was driving home and saw Patricia's Cake Creations on Dundas. Sign said coming soon. I was looking for that special birthday cake and did not know who to turn to. I called the number and spoke with Patricia herself. I advised what I needed and she stated that she would make the cake and I could pick it up from the store, even though they were not officially open yet. Wow what service. My partner was celebrating a Milestone and turning 50. A 50 year old but young at heart and addicted to "Angry Birds". Needless to say, the cake was delivered as promised and was the most fun AND delicious cake I have ever had. I recently picked up 2 dozen cupcakes for my son's birthday party. They were fantastic ! The cupcakes were nicely decorated and the butter cream was excellent. You can pre-order, or just go into the shop and pick up the flavors they have out that day. I did not pre-order and managed to get a good variety that the kids and adults all loved. My sister said the vanilla lemon cupcake was the best cupcake she ever tried in her life. Only thing is they are not nut free if someone has a nut allergy. read more

We ordered 3 different flavours for our cake - vanilla with strawberry cream, chocolate with raspberry cream, and mocha with dulce de leche. She accommodated 3 flavours for 3 layers with no additional cost. The cream was made with fresh fruit and you could really taste the difference. We opted with sugar flowers as decoration and the orchids and hydrangeas she crafted were beautiful. 2.5* Came here for Macaron Day and ended up buying half a dozen more besides the free one I got. It wasn't until we went elsewhere that we realized that was a bit of a mistake. Don't get me wrong, they tasted good. But they were small, expensive ($2.35 each) and not as good as many other bakeries I've tried. Maybe I'm spoiled from living right by Patisserie 27 but I definitely wished I'd picked up more at places besides here. The store was nice, the staff friendly, and the cake samples looked pretty cool. I imagine actual cakes are their specialty so I wouldn't judge them too harshly on this experience. read more

We ordered a small cake for a birthday celebration and while the cake itself was excellent, when we cut into the cake after leaving at room temperature for two hours as instructed all the buttercream icing didn't adhere to the cake and fell off. I called Patricia's the very next morning to explain the situation and requested a credit towards a future purchase. I was told that we were responsible for the buttercream not adhering to the cake and that they would not offer any kind of compensation. The cake itself was wonderful, however I wouldn't order again for concern that the buttercream would again remain on the plate and not the cake. Very disappointing. read more

Worst place ever. I called and sent pictures of the cake I wanted. I asked specifically I need cake for 4-6 people. & I was very specific that they did not understand. I came to pick up the cake, turned not the same I wanted as the picture showed. I saw a bigger cake in the store & I asked another customer how much inches was her cake because that was a decent size of cake, my cake was 6inch that they suggested and looked like it was for 2 people. The owner is so disrespectful she then started speaking to the other customers in my face if you are very specific and not let us free with it then of course you will have better cake ... i couldnt believe it ! We ordered our wedding cake from Patricia's this July and the entire experience was just great! Planning: Patricia is so easy to work with and brought up a lot of good points we didn't think of. I wanted to serve the wedding cake as the dessert, so instead of making a 6-tier cake (we have 160 guests), she suggested doing a 3-tier cake for cutting and 2 sheet cake that went directly to the kitchen to be plated. This turned out to be one of the best decisions I made for the wedding - 1) it made everything flow so much better logistically throughout the dinner service, 2) we didn't have to deal with a gigantic 6-tier cake in the middle of the summer (we probably would've needed a step ladder lol), 3) saved us some $. Cake: The cake itself tasted AMAZING! We went with strawberry butter cream with vanilla sponge. I know it sounds boring but it's classic crowd pleaser (also Patricia's idea) and was she right! A lot of guests told me how much they loved the cake. An uncle actually came up to us just to complement the cake. The filling was made from real strawberries and the flavors reflected that. I'd highly recommend Patricia's to anyone who truly appreciates quality service and good tasting cake! read more

Brutal customer service. Tried to pick up 2 dozen individually boxed cupcakes for shower take-away gifts. When she presented them in cafeteria-style clam-shell plastic boxes I said I didn't want to buy them individually wrapped (wanted to buy the cupcakes in their usual box, not buy 24 individual boxes). She refused to take the cupcakes out of the boxes and said I "had to buy the boxes too" because she said couldn't sell the boxes to anyone else and because she wasted her time placing the cupcakes in the boxes. I spent 45-mins arguing with her since I had already paid for the cupcakes but she wouldn't let me leave the store unless I purchased the individual boxes that I didn't want. The taste is good but the price for what you get is far less than any other place I've used in the past. Not to mention the actual fondant work could have been better.
