I was looking for a cake that wasn't going to be too sweet and came across Vava designer cakes in my search! I didn't have an order placed in advance so I walked in with my fingers crossed at ~2:30 pm on a Sunday. I was super lucky they had a few cakes left for walk-ins and chose the Taro Mochi Pork Floss Chiffon cake. It was on the pricier end ($60) but once we ate it.. honestly, one of the best cakes I think I've had in a while. It was so incredibly light, truly "not too sweet" and the mochi was so tasty! Such a unique combo, I don't think I've ever had one like it. My parents, who are really not fans of desserts, thought this cake was delicious. The shop front is small but honestly, served its purpose and the ladies working there were both very nice and quick! I noticed they had a number of cake orders so I'd recommend placing one in advance (not winging it like me) and their cupcakes looked delicious. I will definitely be coming back to try their strawberry chiffon - that caught my eye and wasn't available when I went!

    Decadent lemon cake

Woah This place has the best cakes I have ever had in my life and in the GTA. This time we ordered the lemon chiffon cake And Wowza It as delicious, sweet and delectable. The cake portion was moist, the cream filling was soft and it had just the right amount of lemon flavouring. This is an easy recommendation for any special occasion cake needs Or Just to come on a whim to pick up a truly decadent sweet dessert.

My hubby got my beautiful birthday cake from here. Kids think it looks like noodles on top. Tastes great, not very sweet, which is one of the highest compliment you can give to Asian cakes lol

Preordered this cake well in advance and ordered the wrong flavoured they were nice enough to allow me to change it! They sent confirmation to make sure all was correct, pick up was quick and smooth. And everyone said the cake was really like and fluffy! Love how you can pick one of the designs they offer

    Mr. Right Oreo Cake

I ordered 8" Mr. Right Oreo Cake for pre-birthday celebration for my husband with friends, decorations of the cake feature my husband's 3 vehicles. I ordered directly with the Richmond Hill branch rather than the CS hotline, Phoebe Cheung was excellent, she was amicable, polite and friendly. I paid $135 for this cake and didn't expect all decorations on top were only paper cut notes and logos, I was expecting something more sophisticated like fondant, otherwise just the cost of the sponge cake as $135 is too pricey! Nonetheless the cake was delivered in a transparent beautiful box and my husband and friends like the cake as it's light, fluffy, tasty and not overly sweet. I've previously tried their cakes and they are really tasty and they offer tailor-made cakes for special events. Although a bit expensive, I'll order for special event again.

    Mochanut -- December 2022 exclusive

It's a smaller location compared to their North York store, so the options for premade cakes are limited, but you can always pre-order all of their cakes. Parking is much better though since it's located at a decent size plaza. I got their December 2022 limited-time special Mochanut cake and it was incredible! It's a multi-layer chiffon cake made with mocha hazelnut cream, and topped with roasted hazelnuts, blueberries, and gingerbread. The cake is also super cute as well, totally IG worthy. We totally could smell its fragrance upon opening the box and the cake was so soft and fluffy. I like that the cream isn't overly dense and sweet and you can totally taste the mocha and hazelnut flavours. It's so good we devoured the whole cake in a day! 10/10 would recommend

You should order in advance if you want a specific cake with customizations. I ordered a strawberry chiffon cake for my sister in law's birthday through WeChat, where I had to fill in a google form and confirm pickup date and time. They have other cake options other than the ones on the website so doesn't hurt to ask. Customer service was super friendly and helpful. The cake was super light and creamy, with lots of strawberries. I'm looking forward to trying some of their seasonal cakes next time.

    Mango taro pandan chiffon cake

I got their mango taro pandan chiffon cake with coconut cream and it was delicious! The pandan chiffon cake is extremely light, and it is layered with coconut cream, real taro and mango. The flavours are all really subtle and come together very nicely. The cake also came with 2 candles. I called a week prior to order the cake and was told that a preorder wasnt needed and they have cakes ready day of for walk in customers. However, when we called again a few days later to confirm, someone else picked up and we were told we needed to preorder and we couldnt pickup at the time we wanted. We ended up getting the cake for the day and time we wanted after a small hiccup, but its something to be aware of.

I ordered a taro mochi cake a few days ahead, and about 30 minutes prior to picking it up, they told me to made a mistake and didn't have any left. They offered a yogurt mixed berry cake instead, and gave me $10 off for the trouble. I appreciated their effort and thought, but we weren't really a huge fan of the yogurt cake. The cake it meant to be sweet and sour, but tasted more sour than sweet. I do like "Asian not too sweet" cakes but this could definitely be a tad more sweet. There's also cereal inside the cake which was soggy and wasn't a fan of that. I do like how the chiffon tasted really fresh and soft. I want to try their taro mochi but they don't sell the smaller 4" version at this location.

Ordered recently a beautifully designed cake for my daughter's bday.Their specialty is in Chiffon cakes. A chiffon cake is a very light fluffy cake. There are a variety of cake fillings such as mango, strawberry and caramel. We got the Angel's Love Letter cake which was so pretty, tasty and a bit pricey for $150 but we got really beautiful bday photos so it was worth it! Most of their basic chiffon cakes (4" or 6") aren't that expensive ranging from $25 to $55. Since this was my first time, I don't have a favourite filling flavour yet but the mango filling that we got was pretty good. I've read other reviews and it looks like the Taro Mochi is a popular one so I will definitely be back to try this one.

Always order cake from this place. Specially cup cake for my daughter. She likes their Oreo cupcake as always. The service the good. Only thing this location is very small.

I bought a mini layered chiffon cake set when they had their 2 day 50% off promotion. The staff handed out numbered tickets since there was only 45 of the cake sets available for this promotion. This is a much better system than customers lining up to wait and getting to the shop to find out if there were anymore cake sets available. One customer was allowed into the shop at a time to adhere to physical distancing since the shop is so small. There's a display case at the front of the shop and a counter on the wall but not much else. Only cash or debit was accepted. The transaction was quick since all the cake sets were already prepared. The cake set was well packaged with a handle to carry the box and had individual slots for the cakes so that they wouldn't move around during transportation. The mini cakes were layered with cake, cream, and fruit/cookie chunks, chocolate or whatever the flavour was. The flavours were strawberry chocolate crunch, Oreo sprinkles, taro mochi, mango chunks, chocolate crunch and caramel sea salt. I found the taste to be on the bland side. I don't like overly sweet things and this fell into the not sweet at all category. The cakes were airy and light and even though I'm not usually a fan of cream I liked the cream on these.

I order my cakes with Vava every time! Ever since my 1st order with them that was conveniently placed via text, I've always returned for all my family's special occasions. Their packaging is on point, presentable, well thought out & even comes with cute cutlery/plates! Their chiffon based cake is always fluffy, soft, made fresh, and never too sweet. Everyone always enjoys it every time. I was extremely pleased with the most recent order that I placed last minute yesterday late afternoon & got to pick up the next day early afternoon. (It was also a custom design cake order too!) HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Fair pricing, high quality, tastes great, and extremely convenient to order with quick & friendly communication.

As a Canadian, it is better to go to your app store, search for the Paris Baguette Canada app, and sign up for the points program for Canada. Last Saturday, I was in my car, parked steps away from Zoup! I had placed a dinner order. I looked across the plaza and noticed Paris Baguette (PB). I had visited COBS Bread a couple of hours earlier. Did I need another bakery visit? Yes! I had some time to kill before picking up my dinner. It was raining. I drove over to PB and parked relatively close to the store. I walked in. I felt like I was in heaven. Carb heaven. Where should I start? I got a tray. There were instructions to grab a small piece of paper and lay it on the tray. I got tongs and went to work. I saw palmiers. My mom loves them. I grabbed one with my tongs and broke off a curved section. It was probably a first for me. I ate the broken part and placed the imperfect palmier on my tray. The broken piece was yummy and was perfection. I finally understood why my mom loves palmiers. I hit the croissant section. I got a pain au chocolat, which is probably my favourite type of croissant. I also got a chocolate croissant. A nice, older woman started chatting with me. She was so sweet. She let me know that she frequents this bakery often and loves it. I asked her what items she hasn't had. It was two items, which floored me. She noticed the chausson aux pommes that I had on my tray and said that it was yummy. I got the following items: - Chausson aux pommes - Chocolate croissant - Pineapple brûlée pastry - Palmier - Pastel de nata - Pain au chocolat - Curry croquette The nice woman let me know that Mia, who was the staffer behind the counter, let her know that this bakery has Korean owners. Really? It made sense seeing mochi donuts. We both hit the checkout counter. Mia got her order and said to grab a seat. She'd bring everything to her. This nice woman said that she was shy of being 90 years old. What?! She looked great! I wouldn't have guessed that I was talking to an 89-year-old woman during my entire time here. I hope that when I am her age, I am savouring pastry as often as my new friend. Mia was great. She put all my pastries in a box. She singled out my savoury curry croquette in a paper bag. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. I got my receipt, thanked her, grabbed my goodies, wished my new friend a wonderful day, and left. There was a Wild game that night. I had a pastry each period. Three pastries in three hours. They were delicious! I will say that the ones with fresh fruit were the most expensive, just over $6. They were worth it. The chausson aux pommes had the best apple filling. It was flaky and delicious. I absolutely devoured the pineapple brûlée pastry. The pineapple chunks were set in custard and were so naturally sweet. This pastry was superb. The pain au chocolat continues to be my favourite croissant. It was flaky and had the best chocolate in every bite. So good! I had the chocolate croissant and loved it. It was fresh, flaky, and soft. The chocolate drizzle had the right amount of chocolate with the buttery croissant. I was extremely happy with my pastel de nata. The custard had a hint of sweetness. The base of flaky. It could have been torched on top more, but I'd get half a dozen next time. I didn't know what to expect with the curry croquette. It was delicious. It had a crispy exterior, crusted with a mix of white and black sesame seeds. The curry filling was full of good flavour. It had veggies in it. The corn and carrot combination worked nicely. I raved about this place to my friend at work today. There's one at Heartland in Mississauga, which is perfect for us to do a run after work. I had an excellent experience. It was nice meeting a passionate pastry lover while getting her take on what she loves. Everything that I consumed was excellent. I hope to get a drink next time and perhaps sit down to enjoy it. I'll be back. (117)

The store was very quiet when I arrived, one other customer browsing the display. There are some seats there and the store front is very spacious and clean. I had a very tough time deciding what to pick up as everything looked amazing and fresh. I finally decided on the apple tart ($18), napoleon ($3), raspberry napoleon ($3.5), tiramisu ($4) and raspberry mousse ($4). The only item I tried was the apple tart as the rest were given t ofriends and family. The apple tart was perfectly light and the apples were very fresh.
