My wife and I started going here before Covid. The office was great at that time. However, over…read morethe past two years we noticed a dramatic change: over-crowded, manic and some techs who did not seem well trained. On one visit my wife was left in a back room for an hour and someone finally came back and said "Are you still here?" Last November they found a problem with one of my wife's teeth and said it need to be extracted and replaced with an implant: cost $8000. We trusted them and an appointment was set up with a visiting oral surgeon to do the work. He was extremely brutal and left the room without a word with her bleeding and the staff left to clean up his mess. We later found out he had knocked out a piece of bone from her jaw during the procedure. Several visits later and after multiple x-rays the oral surgeon determined the bone had grown back enough for the implant. But my wife was not willing to submit to his brutality and indifference. They then referred my wife to a specialist outside her office. The specialist took x-rays and determined that my wife's jaw was damaged to the point of not being suitable for an implant without additional extensive oral surgery - even if then. In fact, her mouth, tooth and jaw were so small that an implant was a questionable option to begin with. The specialist suggested a permanent bridge rather than an implant. We did some research and found a reliable dentist who performed the necessary procedure. But it did not end there. I decided to have an exam with the new dentist despite the fact I had a cleaning just a few weeks before. The exam disclosed that after more than 5 years of "care" at Shipp's office, I had gingivitis and was never told...

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!…read more It's been about 6 years since my last trip to the dentist. I have a good amount of gingival recession & had a few areas of hefty tartar buildup. Everyone here from start to finish was fantastic. Jessica was my hygienist & I cannot say enough great things about her. I was upfront about my previous lack of dental care, and at no point during the visit did I feel judged or shamed. Instead we focused on building a treatment plan to get things back on track. I was seen by Dr Smith and I loved her as well! I was able to be very "real" about my story & what concerns I had. Nothing was overly sugar coated, but there was no guilting either... I felt like the whole experience was a team effort to figure out what needed to be done to address my particular needs. Due to multiple issues regarding my oral health, the recommended plan of action was a debridement to allow for a better assessment at a follow up visit. They were even able to accommodate the procedure same day, which was awesome because I know it took a fair amount more time than a routine prophylaxis. As far as a debridement goes, it was about as "gentle" as you can get. Jessica made sure I knew to signal her at the first sign of discomfort, to add additional numbing agent. And the local anesthetic used was super cool, applied topically & lasted only ~15 minutes versus hours walking around while obliviously drooling on yourself. Jessica was efficient & encouraging, she educated me on how with enhanced home care & more frequent cleanings, my periodontal disease has a good chance to be managed. Overall, it was a very positive & constructive experience, which is exactly what I was looking for. The front desk staff was fabulous. I arrived there today and was a bit anxious.. but WOW... I can't say enough about this practice. Here is why: 1. Great front office assistant; she got me in fast.. even though I wasn't an established patient. 2. I am a cash pay patient for dental work; they didn't abuse me; just charged me a fair amount for only necessary work. They told me up front what the charge would be and didn't try to destroy me financially. Honest! 3. Dr. Wood was my dentist; a female dentist with a kind heart, incredibly smart, understanding of my needs, smooth and steady hands... she worked meticulously to make sure no remaining decay was present; she got every area of decay removed before installing the cavity filling material. 4, ZERO.. absolutely ZERO pain. And afterwards; the tooth felt perfect in my mouth; no high spots, no pain: perfect install. She even had to remove two old metal cavities and reconstructed the entire tooth.
