The picture showed the skylight frame separated and he fixed/repaired. Using his underlayment paper and my roofing shingles left over from a reroofing job performed 8 years ago, he tore out the old paper and reshingled. TG also installed a bathroom exhaust the same day. After I hired an attorney, Edward Purcell was given another opportunity to honor the promissory note he signed and pay for the damage his work caused. Instead, his response was that he would "go bankrupt instead." He spent weeks on my roof and left it in far worse condition than when he started. His work resulted in holes in my ceilings, rain pouring into my home, rotted roof decking being covered instead of replaced, and OSB boards being installed instead of the plywood he promised. Ultimately, another roofing company had to completely remove and redo his work. Edward Purcell also told me he had served time in jail for fraud. A Syracuse.com article also reports on his criminal history, which differed from the version of events he shared with me. This was my personal experience. I strongly encourage anyone considering hiring a contractor to verify insurance coverage, request proof of insurance before work begins, check references, and research available public records before signing a contract.
