The man on the phone insisted that the floor was water proof. I reiterated what happened. I explained that the plumbers were here twice, had water mitigation remove the floor, that insurance was just here, etc. He argued that I was wrong and the floor was water proof. This man said that if I wanted to screw over my insurance, then I could file a claim. I explained that I wasn't out to screw my insurance, and that this is what all the professionals had said to me. He then said, "ok sure. Then I guess we can replace your floor." I told him not after the way he just spoke to me. Incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. I don't recommend them at all.

Prior to the date I asked again for a formal quote with no reply. During install, he asked what he provided as a verbal quote and I replied. At the end of install, the final number was higher than the verbal quote. He had several excuses which I reminded him we discussed when he first came. He then said, well it took longer than I planned. I paid with no argument. My approach is to never do business with a company again if they take advantage of me. Point is, until Skip's returns to employing their own installers, I will never buy flooring from them again.

These folks installed all the floors in our new house and when the underlayment failed under the…read morevinyl kitchen floor due to improper installation(admittedly). One option that was mentioned was to simply go over the existing vinyl with new vinyl which I was not too keen on. We agreed that the vinyl would be removed and replaced with new vinyl after fixing the underlayment. Since the job was going to be messy and take a couple days we agreed that it would be done while the family was on vacation. We received a call while on vacation stating that they tried to tear up the existing vinyl but the underlayment was tearing and they decided to simply go over the existing floor. Exactly what I expressed I did not want. Upon our return from vacation we came to find that not only was the job not done as we agreed, the underlayment had not bee fixed, it is still popping up through 2 layers of vinyl and you can see impressions of the old vinyl through the new vinyl and it looks horrible. After repeated calls and requests to come back I finally gave up. I feel taken advantage of, my own fault for leaving them unmonitored, and cheated and I would not recommend dealing with these folks.

When the job was finished, they said that if the issue comes back Victor Furniture would fix it under warranty. Well... a few months later, the same wrinkle re-appeared. It took multiple calls to get a response from Amanda, their contact. When I told Amanda they originally fixed it, she said we would have to pay AGAIN. Finally, after explaining we were told it was covered from a repair this year, they agreed it was under warranty, but on the service date no one showed up. They I had to spend multiple calls trying to get someone to come out. When they did, they told me that it would be hundreds of dollars to fix. I'm really disappointed with their service.
