Michigan law requires our backflow preventer device be tested, so I arranged with Family Plumbing,…read morewho is licensed to do such testing, to perform my test and my neighbor's test for $45.00 each. They failed my device, took my check that I had left for them, and their receipt noted "non-testable device needs to be brought up to code". I contacted the City of Novi and their cross connection specialist, Kevin Roby, came to my house to check out my backflow preventer device. It was not a device he was familiar with, but he contacted the manufacturer and determined it to be an approved device. What it boils down to, Family Plumbing did not have the correct size adapters to connect their gauge to my device, so they failed the device without ever connecting their gauge to it. I contacted them to complain, leaving a voice mail message because they never answer their phone. Kevin Roby, the City employee, also contacted them. About 10 days later they returned, this time with the plumber Don bringing the owner, his Dad. Still, they did not have 5he correct fittings to connect their gauge. Don offered to have his office issue us a refund. His Dad stormed off to their service vehicle very angry, spewing profanities from his mouth and saying I could take that refund and stick it up my a$$. It is now 6 weeks later. I have called them twice, leaving voice mail messages both times seeking a refund of invoice 14731 and have not yet received said refund.

I just had such a terrible experience with Cummings Plumbing that I will not be using them again. Nick, the plumber who came to my home, was unprofessional and made the whole situation uncomfortable. First, he was cursing constantly while working, very inappropriate, especially with my kids in the house. It was really unsettling to have that kind of language in my house and it left me feeling uneasy as my husband wasn't home. To make matters worse, he didn't even tell me he broke the panel he needed to remove to access the plumbing behind the shower. I only found out after the fact when I saw the damage. On top of that, he removed shelving and clothing rods to get to the panel, but didn't bother to put anything back in place. He just left everything scattered on the floor, including my clothes! It was disrespectful and left me with a mess to clean up on top of everything else. I expected a lot more professionalism, especially for the price I paid. I will not be using Cummings Plumbing again and definitely would not recommend them to others.

I have had a nonfunctioning push button flusher on one of my toilets for some time and finally…read moredecided to do something about it. I was either getting it repaired or replacing the toilet. I went to my handy dandy guide Yelp to find a reputable plumber/plumbing company. I looked at a few companies and opted for WaterWork Plumbing based on their Yelp rating and location. They were rated a 4.0 out of 5. They were located in a neighboring city. I called on a Friday afternoon and was given an appointment for Monday. No problem! To my surprise, I received a callback that a plumber had become available and could come right then. I was excited to get my toilet situation addressed on the same day. Mark was the dispatched plumber. He was on-time, professional and knowledgeable. He was able to change my push button flusher to a traditional handle one. He also replaced the cap and hoses in the tank to prevent a future call. He even adjusted my water valve to the proper level to have the toilet fill back up quickly. At some point, someone had dialed down the water causing it to fill up slowly. Mark was the man for this day for me! It was the answer for the problem and he was able to eliminate future problems. This was worth every dime that was spent and they get five stars from me. I also have added them as a contact in my phone should I need their services again.
