I have stopped over to visit this pub on multiple occasions and the door has been locked even though it says it's open online. I've also called multiple times and gotten no answer. I finally stopped in over the weekend when the door was opened. Not sure about their business hours so I'd definitely try calling before visiting and hope for an answer. The bartender came off a little rude to me like she was too busy to deal with us. The place was completely empty except for one other person at the bar however. The wings were pretty standard. I got bbq - they were really tiny wings but they were tasty. I might not visit again just because it was so difficult for me to get in in the first place. read more

Cool Dive Bar Characters Welcome I always love Patricks. I am a little bias because I am friends with the bartender, but I have been going to Patricks for 15 years and it is always a strange time. In a good way. Tip: Go in when the bartender Matt is working. He always makes you feel welcome. As for the rest, it's a Divey old bar with pool tables. The bar itself always has plenty of room which I like. Close to downtown at half the prices. This is an interesting locals bar... worth checking out if you are in the neighborhood, dive-y Irish pub with a cast of characters. We were there on Friday, there was a live band, playing classic rock, I enjoyed them. Our Applebee's crew is here at least three nights a week. We love Patrick's. All of the bartenders are hilarious and treat us like family. The crowd can get a little weird, but hey--it's providence and they're open late. Drinks are cheap and the selection is large. Saturday is my favorite night. DJ ELECTRO! Seriously--BEST DJ. I literally want him to be the DJ at my wedding and I'm not even kidding. This guy has such good jams. I don't even think it has anything to do with the few drinks that get in my system. It's such an unfortunate situation to have experienced what I did, especially it being my first visit! I entered this facility with excitement to try Patrick's pubs bbq wings. I ordered my wings, when served noticed the wings were super small hardly any meat on it. Rude waitress as which I cannot forget about that. I requested to speak to a manager due to the despicable attitude I was getting from the waiter, not only was she giving me an attitude she just placed the basket of wings in such a manner that I felt so disgusted. Once manager was request the person who came to speak to me regarding the situation was actually the owner, In which he goes by the name of Patrick. Patrick introduces himself and asked me how he can help me, I explained the situation and he decided to just defend his waiter and state if I don't like the service or food I can get my spike self out of his place. I was dumbfounded he decided to offend me with such a racial slur. I got up from my table and started to argue back and fourth with Patrick, he insists to say after I say that I will be reporting him to the state that I shouldn't bother because he has many folks that work with the city of providence and he can get away with anything, he is apart of the community and they will never touch him especially because he has a democratic female council that makes sure he is protected at all times, I don't recall her name but I wish I did! Just to report her as well if this is even true, I continued to let him know that this is not right and he decided to continue calling me racial slurs. I told him I was definitely not going to pay for the wings and was going to make sure many people know about this place! DO NOT BOTHER WASTING YOUR MONEY HERE! ITS A PLACE WHERE IF YOUR APPARENTLY NOT WHITE YOULL BE TREATED WRONG. I was so hurt. Never again! *TRUE* Irish pub! * Probably the best place you have likely never been to. * Great food; the nightly specials are really VERY good. * Several beers on tap, one of the best Guinness pours in New England. * Friendly atmosphere.. there is a wide range of folk and rarely do you see anyone with a bad attitude. * Music can be hit or miss, but it is usually not so loud you can't have a conversation. I find this a great place to go to. I go to Patrick's Pub often. The food is good, the atmosphere is appropriate for the whole family, even if it's bordering the sketchy part of Providence. The pricing is alright for good quality food. Thursday nights between 4PM-6PM are the best times to go, 25 Cent Wings Night. The wings, I'd have to say, are the best in RI. However, they do run out of them on occasion, but I guess that's what happens when they're that amazing. Patrick's is a good place to play Darts at. My dad got me into Darts here. There's also a billiard table. The staff are great, and the pub's environment is fantastic. Go there if you got the chance! read more

Great Irish dive bar. They are situated right in the middle of the Providence St. Patrick's Day parade. I've never had a complaint from the food on the pub fare offerings-whether it be a burger, a reuben or corned beef & cabbage. Be careful of the dining tables, they have seen better days and some tend to be quite wobbly. get some coasters or napkins or an edition of the Providence Phoenix to steady the table. There is a jukebox when there isn't live music and multiple TV's so you can catch the Sox/Pats/Bruins/Celts when they are on. There is also darts and a pool table. It has a cast of characters for regulars and on Tuesday nights at 8 there is live Irish music seshuin (a drop in jam) led by one of the founding members of Pendragon. Parking can be an issue as Smith St is very busy and there is no lot. I also would not leave anything enticing in plain view in your car or else it will not be there when you return to your car. read more

We came from NYC on Sunday to visit my son and see Andy Cooney play at Patrick's. It was a full house when we got there. Most seats were reserved.We didn't know anyone so it was a bit awkward. The owner Patrick was very accommodating and found seats for my mom and. I. We had a fantastic time. Andy Cooney was awesome and kept the crowd going. He played so many songs. It's a nice bar, pretty cheap and clean. There's pool and darts as well as a karaoke night. It's usually empty when I go but I like the atmosphere and bartenders usually. The weird thing here is the placement of their dart board - right by the door to the bathrooms and I've always thought it is ridiculously dangerous. Great mix of food and people. Rarely a bad attitude, including servers, who are friendly. Irish music on Tuesday nights is fun. Food is good for a pub. On one night you might see Irish immigrants, Smith St. Politicians, Providence College Students, and Hispanic locals. They could use a little more in the way of craft beer but I can forgive that. Great local watering hole! Fish and chips are the best and reasonable. Little secret about Patrick's is if you want to have a little party or an "Irish Wake" or collation they have fantastic buffet options that won't break the bank and provide plenty of food. There is plenty of parking on the street and some in the back. Bartenders are great! Matt is our favorite. read more

I want to love this place, I really do. It certainly has the South Boston Irish, blue collar atmosphere and prides itself on catering to any and all who walk through the door. Patrick is a lovely and gregarious man who does much for his community. Unfortunately, this place is certainly showing signs of struggle. Low inventory is a dead giveaway. The food is hospital cafeteria at best, and the menu leaves little to be desired. It must be hard to staff a decent Chef, when no real Chef would lower himself to this standard. It's sad because the Rhode Island State House clientele that frequent this location for beverages, would probably spend a pretty penny on food (if it were worth it). It is also unfortunate that this establishment has a problem with taking your money without your permission. On two separate occasions the 15% tip I left on my tab was rounded to 20% when I checked my bank statements. The first time it happened, I confronted the manager and was rudely given my money back. She was the one who overcharged my bill in the first place. So I used the money to purchase a beverage and left leaving no tip. The second time I was overcharged, it was by the very same manager. When I give one a 15% tip, that's what one gets. If one wants 20%, one should stop pounding bottles of wine while complaining about having to works so hard. The staff of this establishment are great, yet they continue to have a managerial cancer that WILL regrettably destroy this business (probably in the short run). I only give two chances for one to fix there shady ways. I guess I'll have to enjoy Irish session somewhere else. read more
