I went in to see if I could simply trade it in towards something that I wanted. I would've gladly taken almost any offer and made up the balance on a new gun. The store was completely empty, and a young man walked out and said "can I help you" and proceeded to walk over to a computer and start typing at it and I asked him are you in the middle of something, are you helping me? It was so awkward...I said, I'd like to trade in a new unfired gun that I won here in a raffle and put it towards purchasing something here that I'd actually like to own. He told me "that gun was most likely donated by our vendor and we have no interest in buying it back". I said to him so that's it. We're done here? He responded back "yes". I said "would you like to check with the owner before you just dismiss me? "He said "I'm the manager and I make the decisions" His tone was so dismissive and I felt so disrespected. Given that it was a holiday week and a Friday and the store was completely empty and the selection of guns was so sparse. I can't help but think that MidStar arms isn't doing that great. I worked in Customer Service for almost 4 decades, and this manager was very dismissive and disrespectful. I completely realize it's my decision to no longer give them any of my business because there are just way too many local gun shops that treat their customers with more respect. Definitely not a strong move to make your customers feel so unimportant. I personally will make sure to tell all my friends to please bring their business elsewhere.

Jim worked on my muzzleloader. I added a tang peep and new front sight to extend my effective…read morerange. Jim took some measurements of my old sights and adjusted the new sight to get me close. Well, close was a near bullseye on the first shot; only some fine adjustment was needed. Jim took extra care to mount it correctly with a shim that made it very secure. He called me before proceeding on a small mounting issue he found. Very professional service. On a side note, the new sight helped me harvest a very nice mule deer this season. Elite is a small customizing/modification shop specializing in bolt action rifles. It is operated…read moreout of s shop attached to their house. Jim and Ray Combes are the gunsmiths. I wanted a WWI Mauser barrel shortened to produce a more modern Scout rifle with a muzzle break. But after considering the rifle's setup and their lath requirements, we decided that I would be better off using another Mauser for my goal. Their shop looks like a place I would love to go thru and see what treasurers are hiding there. At first glance, it looks sort of discombobulatedly organized.. But after glancing around, I can see the method to their organization. In fact, I was looking for an old set of scope rings for an old .22 rifle sold back then by Sears (they don't sell guns anymore). Jim went thru his stash and found one that would work after looking at a half dozen or more. He also told me how to repair a slight split in the stock. Lots of good advice along with the old set of scope rings. Elite also works on other guns besides bolt actions. Also has a stash of old knives and I don't know what else. I will use them again if I have need for their expertise. Nice guys and knowledgable.

Dude has helped me on multiple trips to the store and has been able to troubleshoot and suggest the proper fix for my weapons without physically seeing or handling them purely based on my (limited) description each time. The guy is a stud and earned my respect and deserves recognition. Even though I just moved across town recently, I'll be making the trip based off of these experiences.

I started going to this pawnshop last year sometime every once in a while when I needed money and…read morethere were a few different items that I would pawn every so often when I needed money up until two or three months ago I had never not pick something up. I went into pawn an item for $100 and I had never gotten less than that before. I was immediately told only $50 and then after a few minutes it was up to $75. The item that I was trying to pawn, I actually did a partial trade partial cash payment to get it as it was being sold for a little under $300. And according to John, he would pawn anything that you bought from him for half of what it was sold for. Which because of my trade-in with the cash, half would have equal out to about $150 so $100 should have been fine. Just really irritates me because it feels like John rip me off. I thought he viewed me as a good customer, but not only shorted me on what I was asking didn't even look me in the eye when he was saying it like he was preoccupied with something else and seem to just try to hurry me out the door so to speak. Because of this, I will not go back.
