This is a review for the driving range and putting area. The staff and patrons all seem very nice. The driving range is what you'd expect from a typical driving range without too many frills. There is an area where you can hit off the grass which is always awesome especially in the Boston area. You can also use the putting green for free which seems like a no-brainer however many places around here make you pay (Stonemeadow). I haven't played the course yet but seems pretty nice.

5 hours ago November…read more29th, had 2 confirmed tee times at 6:45 and 8:54. Was told there would be a frost delay of roughly 2 hours 15mins. Fair enough, I understand its almost December, no issue with that. So basic math would tell you our tee times are now right around 9 and 11:10ish. We tee off right after 9 and play right at 2 hours. Again, basic math would tell you we are now roughly 15 minutes early for our 2nd tee time. When we check in with the 'clipboard' guy for our 2nd tee time, he tells us right away "its not looking good" but he goes in to check in with the clubhouse. We're a little confused as again, everything was delayed and moved down 2hrs 15 mins. Not too complicated. Clipboard guy comes back out and tells us "bad news, not looking like we can get you guys out. We're so backed up from the delay." At this point none of us know what to think as mathematically and the way time on this planet operates, we had two tee times 2hrs 11mins apart. Played our 1st nine in just at 2 hrs, so we are early for our 2nd 9. But now we are being told we can't play at all. While talking to the Clipboard guy, the Starter walks up to us and immediately gets defensive and repeats over and over there was a 2hr and 15min frost delay! And we reiterated we completely understood, but if everyone was pushed back, then our 2nd tee time, which we are early for, was also pushed back. Starter would not budge and one point just said "well I'm the Starter", which is not helpful at all clearly. Course is very mismanaged. Clearly a course that prefers their regulars to any other customer that shows up on time, plays quickly and has the audacity to expect to play both tee times they booked. With the amount of courses in the area, it's absurd that a 9 hole course that is a generous 'executive course' at best can't coordinate a frost delay, which is extremely common in New England. Curious if anyone from the course has thoughts, but I'm sure they're busy looking for groups in the parking lot after telling a foursome that was ready that they can't play

After completing my second visit to Big Sticks Golf in Burlington, MA, I decided to write a review…read morefor Yelp! My first visit was very positive and it prompted me to come back. I booked the golf simulator which allows for independent play as a solo or with a group of up to four where you can play practically any course isn't he world, practice at the range, or just analyze your swing. Because this is a golf simulator, you hit specially designed golf balls into a screen where various monitors and sensors pick up the trajectory, ball spin, velocity and forecast distance and accuracy. The results are very realistic and the distances from my own club selection are surprisingly accurate. While the tee to green is highly comparable to real life, the short game does take some adjustments. The staff at Big Sticks Golf was friendly and courteous in welcoming me, offering an empty bay to take some warmup swings and then logging me into the simulator. The rest was up to me. Again, the experience was lifelike enough to work on my swing after many winter months off. Where I was advised by their on-line booking site as well as talking to a member of the staff that an individual can play 18 holes of golf in under an hour at $55/hour. I played pebble beach and enjoyed it very much, despite losing too many strokes around the greens with finicky technology that requires some getting used to. For my second visit I booked 2 hours and played TPC Sawgrass twice since the PGA tour was there this week. Again the staff was courteous and assisted me in getting set up. While my tee to green game was still good, I experienced notice improvement in the short game vs. my previous visit. Using the "aim" on the monitor vs. trying to compensate with your actual stroke is key. I was very pleased with the experience and not only played the course twice shooting in the low 80s each round, but I also had 25 mins remaining to hit the range and work on various clubs and my swing. It was well worth the money and I am really looking forward to the warmer weather getting her to keep the momentum going on my regular outdoor game too. When it may be more convenient to play a quick round indoors, I will keep this establishment in mind all year round. Check out Big Sticks Golf and don't let the snow, cold, early season conditions or summer rains limit your golf game.

Tried this course with my son on my birthday. Whatever staff was working on 5/20/2024 at around…read more4:00 pm was pretty gruff to me and not very friendly. He barked at my son and I to make our way to join another two-some playing. This two-some had a cart and we were walking so eventually we played on our own rather than join the other group. I was half expecting the staff to come barging at us yelling to join the group. He seemed like a jerk. The course though is very unique and pretty challenging. Lots of holes are narrow with woods on either side, water, sand and underbrush bushes and marsh. In other words, there are many ways to lose a ball if one's drive, second shot, and pitch are not accurate. The Par 3's are some of the toughest I've ever encountered. One has a dip in front of the hole with water and vast brush in front of the green. To the side is woods and a steep drop on the other side. The 9th hole is a Par 3 that has vast underbrush in front, woods on one side and a barn like building on the other...super challenging. I can see beginners being frustrated on this course but it is challenging but fun for players with a bit more experience. I enjoyed myself overall. Just wish the staff I encountered wasn't so unwelcoming (we paid, were customers...why be gruff?). If the owner/manager is reading this, talk to your staff. Friendliness goes a long way. Still a beautiful course.
