So, I had (note the past tense) two broad problems with golf. These are by no means specific to Stone Meadow: 1. Golf is freaking expensive. 2. I tried golf as a teenager, and couldn't get the hand-eye coordination down. Don't kid yourselves, I still can't. I was designed to sit in front of an Excel spreadsheet, not stand in front of a golf tee. Stone Meadow Golf has completely turned everything on its head. Don't get me wrong, my hand eye coordination is still as real as the Loch Ness Monster, however the lack thereof is no longer as scary. Stone Meadow has a driving range and a 9-hole course. Both are priced very reasonably, and (at least for the 9-hole), equipment like a wedge, putter, and two balls. The course was very approachable and non-intimidating for a newbie like myself. The staff were also helpful and friendly. So, while I don't see myself becoming a person who holds for fun on his own, including owning one's own clubs, when my friends have an open invite for Stone Meadow, I will absolutely join them if I'm in town). read more

Had a great time at the driving range! It was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon, but we didn't have to wait too long for parking or for a bay. We had our own clubs and a punch pass so it was pretty cheap for balls, and we all had such a fun time. read more

One of my go-to driving ranges in the area. It can get busy, especially on weekends, but I've never had an issue getting a bay. Prices are very reasonable compared to other spots nearby, and everything is well maintained--from the mats to the balls and even the facilities. read more

9 hole course is the only reason I gave 2 stars. Charging $10 for 20ish golf balls, to hit off of a jank plastic tray should be a crime. Range is a joke. Go somewhere else. Pretty standard driving range. You pay for different size buckets of balls - the jumbo is $15. Not as many shaded bays, so bring your hats/visors! Was pretty full on a random Monday afternoon but we were still able to find a spot. read more

I love the place! I've recently moved up this way from the south shore, and been coming here to get the reps in frequently.. business is cash only which isn't a big deal by any means. I think the only thing that threw me off about this place was their lower driving range. I like hitting up top only because the lower range forces you towards the nets.. I believe I overheard an employee saying the owner "Scott" has an office is upstairs, and I heard he loves customer feedback. read more

I received a retirement gift of lessons at this site. I tried to get the $300 worth of lesson but a year later after the retirement. This place was not nice at all. I would steer clear of them. I feel badly that my friends and colleagues money went to waste at this place. Don't go but it you do, be careful as their customer service and credibility is not good. read more

Friendly staff, well maintained facility, very reasonable cost for buckets of balls and par 3 course.

Range balls are in decent shape, generally only one or two bald ones in a bucket. They use Mizuno range balls. Yard markers are accurate from the middle of the mat range. Plenty of pins out there to aim for at various ranges. Range balls are priced well, and $5/h for the natural grass green/chipping area is a great deal. Only cons: Sun can get in your eyes in the PM during the summer on the range. Can get crowded after work, sometimes hard to find parking. Not really their fault though, not sure where they would be able to fit more. read more

Great range. Par 3 is perfect for your short game, chips and wedges. But this place is GREAT because of the instructors. Have worked with Vera and Andy (both really good), but George is a miracle worker. Took a guy who consistently shot 100' or higher and turned him into a player scoring in mid 80s. He's supportive, encouraging and gets it (for me it was showing me how to swing loose and easy). He texts to see how your rounds go. Great guy. Unbelievable instructor! I have spent quite a bit of time at this driving range this summer because my middle son took up golf and wants to be on his High School team. While he has dabbled in the past with golf, I really wanted him to have classes or lessons to learn it correctly right off the bat. We called up and they recommended Andy F. and we were off and runnning. Andy was great! He talked TO my son not down to him and explained the game to him in a way he could process it visually and physically. We will defintely be back next summer for more lessons. The driving range itself is well maintained. It does get busy on the weekends but we usually go pretty early and have managed to avoid waiting. Monday (that is not a holiday) thru Thursday, they open one of the ranges in the mornings so you can use the green to practice. For $12, you can play a half course and the putting green is free to practice. Otherwise, you will pay $5 to just use the putting green. My only gripe is when some guys bring the really little kids (not the kids that are outfitted with a club) and are not paying full attention to them. read more

I'm glad Stone Meadow Golf has been open during these uncertain times. Staff is friendly and you can tell they are making efforts to sanitize balls and rental clubs, as well as the clubhouse which is a plus in my eyes.. The driving range is easy to get to with lots of hitting bays. They even have a pitch and putt course that's great to get around in about 45 minutes. Pretty decent range for the price and proximity to Boston metro area. Pros: - Lots of stalls, super super easy to find a bay especially on weekdays - Close to Boston, way easier to get to than Granite Links or anywhere south of the city - Cost ($11 for 80ish balls) - Super relaxed, doesn't feel fancy or country club-ish. Staff has always been friendly. Cons: - Balls are a little inconsistent. Most were great but about 1/10 were a little beat up. Not a huge deal though - They're cash only. It's 2021 and all businesses should probably accept cards...I had to pay $2.50 to use the ATM onsite - Stalls are just a tad close...can get a little hairy if the person next to you has the yips Overall this is a good spot to practice and I'd definitely recommend it. Might not be the best spot for hardcore golfers that are super serious about their range time, but it's excellent for the other 90% of us! read more

The driving range is fine, nothing special. The selection of clubs is a little thin but not terrible. Overall, it's an adequate place. The only thing that is a problem is the staff. They have no concept of friendliness. Especially the really old guy at the counter... It's clear that in his advanced years, he just doesn't give a F. You can say he's earned it but you could also argue that he's in the service industry and people notice these things enough to take their business elsewhere. read more

I managed to finally visit Stone Meadow for the first time and glad I did. The have mats as well as grass tees. I appreciated the fact that there's no extra charge for the grass tees. Carol, at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful in guiding me to the right size bucket for the range. The nine hole par 3 course is very short; but the fairways and greens are in great shape. Stone Meadow is a place I have been going for years, and I'm very impressed with. Never need to wait for someone, and on a rare occasion I do, it's for max 5 minutes. The bucket of balls are fairly cheap ($15), with a great environment, and nice staff. They have lessons, and overall friendly place to work on your swing. read more

For more than a decade now I've used Stone Meadow Golf's sight, services and staff, but it has been their staff that really has me coming back again and again. I have brought my Dad here, and my kids here, and I've also had my clubs made/re-gripped here, but perhaps most satisfying of all, they have personally helped to lower my handicap (with the assistance of their PGA teaching staff). The Managing (Carroll) Family at this place have always been, and continue to be, some of the finest, most generous and active participants in this local community... long before any of my visits to Stone Meadow Golf (and there have been many). You already know this, but the turf & grass practice areas are great. The Par 3 Course is ideal for every level of golfer looking to either build, sharpen or just enjoy these tidy 9 holes of par 3 golf. I really can't say that I've ever had a bad experience at SM. They have quality staff, quality conditions, and all for a fair price. read more

Best option for driving range in the area. Only grass tees in the area. The downside is that the grass tees get a little sandy as the season goes on. Price per bucket is a little expensive. No "membership" deals which would be nice, especially since I go 3-4 times per week. In the evening the sun tends to be in your eyes. Have to pay $5 to use the green (want to keep the traffic down and the greens in good shape). However the green is slow and usually soggy. Place gets extremely busy in the summer. It is nice that they stay open as long as possible. Even when its super cold out. Nice pitch and putt which will get you a free hour on the putting green. To be honest, if another placed opened up close to me I would have no problem switching. I don't get a sense that this place is "loyal" to its customers. The only deal or reward that they offer is discount if you buy 10 small, large, or jumbo buckets. However they currently are the only game in town. read more

Just reviewing the range here. Not bad. It slopes to the west and affords a wide area in which to hit (or in my case, slice). Plenty of mats...I think they've got 75...and it's one of the cheapest around. with the very large bucket at $11 and a medium for only $6. Located right off of Route 2 it's convenient to Route 128 and any of the businesses in Waltham, Lexington, or Burlington. Yes, it's possible to head down from the latter town at midday, hit a medium bucket, and be back at one's desk all in the space of an hour. I did it today. That's convenient. Opens at 7 a.m., and that's convenient to anyone working in the area or preparing for a day on the links. OK, and I may award it another star after my next visit. Maybe an additional star the next time I visit. Pretty good. read more

Driving range August 2020. Absolutely no social distancing. People are about 2-3 feet apart. Very few people wearing masks. They should have every other mat closed. Also the balls and mats are crap quality. And they still only take cash, so they can cheat on taxes, no other reason these days. These other recent reviews are obviously fake. I've been playing golf and going to driving ranges for 25 years and this is the worst operation I have seen. read more
