Just to update my previous review, these guys are still the best in East County in my opinion. Connor is Kirk's son. He has the same gift for maintaining an older tract house in the Rancho San Diego area as his father Kirk. I had a unsupported hose bib with multiple extensions (with no appreciable support) coming out of my house. I have built a cabin in Baja and know when there is risk and this one was flashing red lights. Connor finessed the fix and talked me through the process. If you want a job done that you can depend upon, these are the guys. Reasonable rates, not the cheapest, but do you really want cheap when you are dealing with plumbing? read more

Kirk personally came out and performed a complete hydro flush of the pipes in my home, and the experience from start to finish was absolutely top-tier. NEVER use these guys. We had a clog. They talked to us into new toilets. Ordered them and then we waited weeks for them to be installed. Once they finally came to install them, they realize that one of the toilets was too big for the space it needed to be installed in. Before telling us, Kirk cut a sloppy hole in our drywall. Then realizing there was a stud right there he shrugged his shoulders and said they didn't know what to do. Connor said he was going to make things right by reaching out to a drywall friend and coming back the next day. Instead of that happening two days later, we heard from Kirk and he was harassing my husband saying that it was actually our fault that we had a messed up bathroom and that was the problem and not the toilet. He said it was up to us to figure out how to fix our walls and get the toilet in. This is in my mom's room and she is elderly, rarely gets out of bed and sleeps with rails in a medical bed. Now her toilet has been deinstalled for days, and she has to walk across the house with her walker in the middle of the night to pee. Not even sure how to start over with a new plumber with our wall cut up. We've dumped money into them and now have to buy a new toilet, pay a new plumber and hire someone to repair the drywall. And I don't think we even needed a new toilet in the first place. Complete catastrophe. No ethics, no expertise. DO NOT USE!!! read more

Kirk and his son has been to my home four times for plumbing issues. He has replaced my leaking, old, hot water heater with a tankless one. He has been under my house in the crawlspace to fix a leak. Most recently, he came out and was able to remove the cartridge in my shower that I broke and couldn't get out. It was difficult but he worked hard to remove it and saved me hundreds. Kirk and Conner of Patriot Plumbing are not only quality plumbers they are quality people in the truest sense. I met Kirk and Conner a few years back when I was renting a home in Serra Mesa. Upon move in the entire house was completely backed up, I couldn't use any water or flush the toilet without drain water filling up in the tub or sinks. It was a nightmare so I decided to contact a well known plumbing company that advertises on the radio and tv claiming to snake any drain for $73 or something like that. A plumber showed up and decided to remove a toilet and snake from there because he couldn't find a clean out. Unfortunately he couldn't clear the line and quickly called out his manger. After a brief discussion between the plumber and manager I was handed a bill for $750 and told it was because they had to remove the toilet. I said but you guys didn't clear the backup. the managers response, I had two options, option one pay the bill, option two apply the $750 to their next level of service. I asked what that was and how much is it? All I remember is that it was over $2000. I was beside myself at the thought of having to pay over $2k for these clowns clear this back up let alone be okay with charging me an exorbitant fee for doing absolutely nothing.. I reached out to my landlord who told me she would call a friend who would come by the house the next day. This is the day I met Kirk and Conner from Patriot Plumbing. Upon arrival they politely introduced themselves, I filled them in on what had transpired the previous day, without hesitation KIRK asked me to call the manager from the other plumbing company that had been at my house. I dialed the phone number but unfortunately there was no answer, before I could put my phone away it rang, it was the manager calling me back. I gestured to Kirk, without hesitation he took the phone and answered the call introducing himself in the process. Then quite pointedly demanded they return my money, all I will say is that Kirk was very convincing. He wasn't on the phone more than a few minutes before he handed it back to me and said you will have your money by tomorrow. It's rare to come across someone that you just meet and have them take a vested interest in your situation. Kirk did just that, he certainly didn't have to but knew how much it would mean to me which says a lot about who he is. To show my gratitude I ran to the store to get them each a twelve pack of beer and when I returned Conner was on the roof and had accessed the main line through a vent and was successfully clearing the line. I'm still blown away by Kirk's gesture, we are friends to this day. so the next time you need a plumber do yourself a favor and hire Patriot Plumbing, you won't be disappointed. read more

I walked in to my garage one morning recently and everything was wet. Turns out my water heater was leaking. I called Patriot Plumbing whom I had used before for more minor issues. Since they were the only plumbers I knew, I didn't want to spend time looking for others. It's a family business with Kirk and his two sons. I called in my problem and Kirk was here within the hour. He spent about 5 hours taking out the old water heater, calling his supplier to deliver a new one, installing a new one, and referring me to a company (Super Dry which I also recommend) to dry out the carpeting that covers about one third of the garage floor. We are in the process of replacing our floor. The toilets needed to be removed and put back after installing the new floor. The plumber who was originally supposed to come for the job, never showed up so my family was left without any working toilet on this 4th of July weekend. I called a few 24/7 plumbing companies to find someone else to put my toilets back. However, every plumber I called said they could not come because it's the 4th holiday. I then found this company (Patriot Plumbing) and spoke with the owner, Kirk, directly. Kirk agreed to come out on 4th of July this morning to help my family. When the plumber, Kirk, came he refused to work at our house based on a sign in my front yard. I called the office to inform them what had happened and asked that they let their customers know that there may be circumstances under which they will not provide services due to the customers personal beliefs. Kirk is a terrible human being and a poor excuse for plumber. While on my property he ran over my main water line sending water shooting down my driveway. He took a long time to fix it and two weeks later his bad repair started to leak. I dug down to see what he did to find a Sharkbite connection on the line. He couldn't even install a sharkbite properly. Never use this company, the owner does subpar work and has a terrible attitude. Patriot plumbing also pads their reviews which is completely unethical. His son Conor wrote a 5 star review for themselves. You can see it in the list. Please beware! Never do business with Patriot. Kirk ripped us off for hundreds of dollars and threatened to sue us. If I could choose 0 stars I would. Something is absolutely wrong with the owner Kirk. We had an error code on our Navien water heater so we called Patriot Plumbing. The owner showed up to my front door. When I opened it he said he couldn't do my job because of the stickers on my husbands truck. Basically he eluded to the fact that our Republican views offended him.. It caught me by surprise and I just said ok. Then he started laughing and went on to make comments about how Biden is ruining this country etc.. it seemed very unprofessional but I ignored it. This man was all over the place- seemed to be on drugs. He actually even said he had vertigo and that's why he was acting the way he was acting. I'm sorry but this behavior was way more than vertigo. He looked at my unit from the outside and started spiting out all of the things that could possibly be wrong. He said the gas line was too small, the unit needed to be vented differently. Then after being there for 10 min, he said he had to go because he needed to be somewhere by 5. Later that night he called me and told me the plumber that installed the unit probably didn't use a conversion kit for propane ( which he did). He was all over the place with his diagnosis. Needless to say, I decided to not use his services as I had a really bad feeling about him. The next morning he texted me telling me he was going to pick up the $125 service fee, which was never disclosed. Additionally he did not properly provide any diagnosis. He then proceeds to insult me and said he could tell I was "cheap, cheap, cheap" from the beginning. His behavior, especially for a business owner is very concerning and I see he has been involved a few different law suits. No surprise. Stay clear of this shady character. read more

We have used Patriot Plumbing back when there were pagers. When Kirk 1st came out it turned out we had the dial of the washer in between settings. He didn't charge us, even though we live very far out. This time Conner came and fixed our water pipe from the meter. Patriot Plumbing is fair and reasonable and Callie is great. read more

Terrific company. Family owned. I'm about 2 months late writing this review. My parents had used their services many years ago & kept the companies advertising magnet on the side of the refrigerator. We needed help when there was water in the vault near the sidewalk. Water comp. came out & said it was a leaking pipe on the house side. Called Patriot. He came over within the hr. Stay away from this company and trust the bad reviews. We paid them to fix an issue with our shower and it cost almost 1,200 dollars. We tried to call them to come back and fix the issue that was still occurring. Left many voicemails for him and no answer back. The owner Krik is awful. We disputed the charge with our bank and the bank told us that the owner Krik is very angry and doesn't want to dispute the charge. We recently had an incident where someone came to our house around 4:45 pm and cut our water pressure line. We didn't realize this until our water was not working. The city came and showed us what damage was done. Seems like Kirk was upset at us!! WTF read more

Started with a nice warm tile in the kitchen...then the tile got HOT! I started freaking out wondering what in the world a slab leak was going to cost, especially since I knew the insurance would not cover it. Called Kirk on a Thursday about 4pm; he gave us the contact for a leak detector. Called him, he was out at 8am Friday morning. We got the information and called Kirk at 9:30am. Kirk had a crew at our house by 11am. The plumbers that came assessed the problem, gave us an honest, realistic quote, which we agreed to and they were off. Plumbing had to be re-routed (thank goodness no digging up the kitchen/dining room floor!!). Job was done by 4:30pm same day and our problem is solved! Prior to calling Kirk at Patriot, I was soooooooooo stressed wondering if we were going to get taken advantage of. Not here, this guy is honest and fair and the work is TOP notch. I would never use anyone other than Patriot. (We have used them in the past and continue to go back.) I see many questionable reviews here on Yelp and it breaks my heart. Patriot did some minor work but when we hired a different plumber for the majority of the project, Kirk was furious--he showed up at my 90 year old mother's house, confronted her, and demanded she cut him a check on the spot. just wanted bathroom sink drain snaked, kirk came with his son and they were arguing. Instead of going down our elevator to his truck to get his tools, he borrowed our bucket and wrench (lazy), snaked the drain and left the muck in the sink. The plug broke, not his fault, probably old and all he had to do was ask me to pay extra to replace it and I would have, but I felt he left the job incomplete, Super bad communication. I texted him that the job was incomplete, after I paid him cash for the whole thing of which he never did give me a receipt, he then proceeded to tell me, "oh you were going to blame me and think I broke the plug" which wasn't an issue, so then after a couple of texts, I told him "why don't we lose each others" numbers, then he texts me back "no" and sent me more texts, this time mean ones. So I told him that if he didn't stop I would contact Better Business Bureau, then he still continued to text, so I said once again "lose my number." I showed all the texts to my significant other and he said the guy was totally unprofessional and childish. Kirk complained about our dirty drain, well of course, that is why we got a plumber to snake it - hello. He also said something about hoarding and we do have lots of possessions, which we have lots of DVDs neatly stored in plastic tubs, but the personal pot shots were really sad. Yes, won't use them again & will not recommend. p.s. because I have a soft heart, I think maybe he takes on too many jobs and that he needs either more help or take less work, so I hope he can do that so that he will be less stressed and not take his frustration out on paying customers anymore Blessings! ~ read more

First off the guy that came to my house did not wear a mask and said he was immune to the Virus. But was I.!? Anyway he was there so I put on my mask and let him in. Looked and said what he thought my problem was that my water had probably been turned off. He was correct in that assumption Contractor had ruptured a city pipe and it affected the entire neighborhood. All in all it took 5 or 6 mins to see there was no issue that he could help with. At first, Patriot Plumbing seemed great. They gave us some free advice over the phone about the house we were putting in an offer on. Then, some more issues came up in our final walkthrough, so we hired them to do an on-site plumbing inspection for $275. The plumber was supposed to meet our real estate agent there, but showed up early and had left by the time they were supposed to meet. We called repeatedly trying to get the results of our inspection. Finally, the plumber called my husband and gave him a quick run down over the phone. However, my husband was about to board a flight and wasn't able to write anything down so we asked for a written report. We kept asking for several weeks and were told that we could have a report once we committed to having the work done. After rudely yelling at our real estate agent, he agreed to send us a written report. Then, we asked for cost estimates for the issues they had found. He again refused to give us anything until we committed to the work. Who would commit to having work done without a price estimate?! The plumber was extremely rude and unprofessional and we had to fight tooth and nail to get a simple inspection report that we paid $275 for. Then, to top it all off, he didn't even correctly identify the problem with our plumbing (we discovered this when we had someone else successfully fix our plumbing issues). read more

Oh my goodness! We have just had the most horrible experience with Patriot Plumbing. Kirk came out with his son, seemed very nice. We needed a shower knob replaced, we told him we thought it was a turn knob, so he brought out that kind. We were wrong; he said he would bring out the right one the next day. We never heard from him from that Tuesday to the following Sunday. Then he said he would come by Monday...never heard from him until Thursday night when he left a message on my husband's phone saying he was going to put a lien on our house if we didn't return his call and pay his service call. The most unprofessional company we have ever dealt with. And to top it off, he threatened to sue if we left a bad review. The following is a breakdown of my experience with Patriot Plumbing: - They said they would arrive between 10-12pm (I called when it was 12:50 & they said someone would be arriving by 1) -They did not arrive until 1 -To shut-off the water in my condo, plumbers have to turn-off the water to 48-units (it's a very old building). Since they arrived late- I had to inform all 48 neighbors I needed to exted the water shut-off time. -They told me they would send a bid the next day. -I never received the bid, so I called. -They said they would send the bid the next morning. -They never sent it so I called - they said they faxed it to the wrong number -The bid was $525 for replacing a shower valve. I received estimates from two other plumbers: (plumber 1) estimate was $390 (plumber 2) was $400. read more
