Additionally, one of my dogs can be a real handful around dogs with whom he is not acquainted (thusly characterized as somewhat of a special needs dog). I looked through many of the pet service websites that require you to become a member and then they contact you based on criteria you entered on their website--only to be disgusted with the process. For the sake of brevity, my wife and I got the contact information for Mrs. Nanny Paws. The service is unbelievable! For $16/day they walk my two dogs for a half hour (whatever time of day you ask for). All of their employees are subject to criminal background checks and tightly managed by the owner, Marilyn. As if having great piece of mind about the folks that are entering your home while you're not there and caring for your pets isn't enough, it's nice to know they go the extra mile. Last week, my younger lab came down with a terrible case of chronic diarhhea. He has a sensitve stomach and it's easily treatable, but it doesn't stop the mess from happening while my wife and I are at work. The service not only fulfilled their usual duties during this time, they also cleaned the mess from my apartment when they visited. They even went so far as to stop by several times those days to allow him to go outside! I would recommend this service to anybody, I am truly satisfied in every regard with this company! -GW

I called up and the phone person was completely helpful, booking my cats into a three tiered suite. Pick up was a breeze; every employee we encountered was friendly and professional. My cats were only there overnight, but they were basically unruffled, although happy to be home. It's very clear that this business has spent time thinking about what their brand is and how to grow it successfully. Very impressed, 5/5.

When we picked Zelda up after her most recent stay, she was in the worst condition we've ever seen. She smelled terrible, her coat was severely matted from head to tail, and she had developed two skin infections that required a veterinary visit immediately after we brought her home. Because of the condition of her skin, she couldn't even be properly groomed right away. Instead, we spent hours bathing her ourselves and carefully cutting mats out of what had once been her beautiful coat. We were also concerned about the communication regarding an injury she sustained while boarding. It was only after we specifically asked for her report card that we were told she had a "small cut" on her elbow. What we found was an open wound with pus, which was much more serious than we had been led to believe. We would have appreciated being notified immediately rather than learning about it only because we asked. We understand that accidents and medical issues can happen in any boarding environment. However, we expected Zelda to be monitored, cared for, and communicated about appropriately--especially considering the cost of the boarding services. Unfortunately, her condition when she came home did not reflect the level of care we had come to expect from Janry. We sincerely hope this was an isolated incident because we've had good experiences there in the past. However, based on this stay, we cannot confidently recommend Janry Pet Resort until we know changes have been made to ensure pets receive the care, grooming, monitoring, and communication their owners expect.

Ended up with pain meds and antibiotic gel for eye. Oh, plus she has to wear an e-collar for a few days. I talked with Kelly, she said it happens, nothing she could do about it. In total between grooming and vet spent over $400.00. Go there at your dog's risk.

I was asked to provide my vets number which I did and I was asked to direct my vet to give cloud 9 my dogs vaccine records. Cloud 9 pulled the records 4 days before thanksgiving and I was told that he was missing the influenza vaccine (out of the 6 that are required) which is series of 2 shots over a 2 weeks so now we can't board the dog. If they would have pulled the records when I called then I would have plenty of time get this done but their unprofessionalism left no time for this. For the price they charge I would have expected more. They offered no help in resolving this and just pretty much a "you're on your own" and "this is all your fault". I would recommend looking elsewhere for your boarding services as if something goes wrong they don't seem like they care enough to help out.

I recently started training sessions for my 4 year old rescue dog Blue. She is a highly eneregetic,…read morepeople friendly dog; a pit bull hound mix. The biggest challenges were that she does not get along with other dogs and needed to be socialized and trained on basic commands. Several of my neighbors recommended Hope Lock and I am so happy that we are in training there. We first completed private lessons with Wayne. Within a matter of minutes, he helped transform Blue's behavior, and my ability to handle her more effectively. Not only did he help socialize her with other dogs, he taught us some basic commands and obedience, while being very supportive and complimentary of our progress. We then started Basic Training wth Missy a few weeks ago, along with 11 other dogs and handlers. I am so pleased with how well Blue is doing, and so thankful we had the private lessons first. Missy is also a fantastic trainer, I was amazed at how quickly she got the group in order, 12 dogs of all shapes and sizes, and not all well behaved yet. She is patient but firm and has great results. I am so thankful for Wayne and Missy and her Team and the wonderful support at Hope Lock. These sessions helped further my bond with Blue, and have taught me so much about how to handle various situations. I am looking forward to continuing our training through intermediate and advanced levels. I highly recommend Hope Lock!! I am getting ready to register for the intermediate obedience course and wanted to take a moment to…read morewrite a review about my experience with the basic training class. We rescued our Catahoula Girl, Charlie, 2 years ago. She is very sweet natured but she was becoming more and more reactive to people and dogs. She weighs 76 pounds and is very strong. I had to get a handle on this powerhouse or one of us was going to get seriously hurt! She was starting to lunge at rabbits, men in hats, certain dogs, delivery trucks and something had to be done to protect both our safety! We had done a treat/reward based program and it only worked during class. Out in my neighborhood, where the rubber meets the road (literally), Charlie was completely uninterested and unmotivated by treats. She was much more motivated by her nose and her instincts! I was working hard but she was becoming more and more unmanageable. The first night of class, my instructor asked me if I wanted to try a pronged collar. This sounded so harsh and maybe even dangerous, so I said that I would see how it goes. Well, after 15 minutes of struggling with Charlie's willful behavior, I was willing to give that bad boy a try! All I can say is GAME CHANGER! They fitted my hooligan for a pronged collar and taught me how to use it correctly, so that it imitates the correction a pup feels from its mother. She grabs her youngster with her teeth and applies pressure to the neck and then releases her grip. Suddenly, Charlie was paying attention to me and she has been improving her focus and self-control, ever since. We are still working on socialization, but the experience has been an extremely positive one for us. I will give you one caveat about the instructors at Hope Lock. You'd better be prepared to put in the work and that includes weekly homework. These classes are not for slackers!!!
