I was so fortunate to find the FurKid Company a few years ago after a thorough search here on Yelp…read more This company is so organized, friendly, and communicative. Lana and Beth have been total rockstars throughout the years with scheduling, and I have never had an issue in my years working with them. Whenever my usual walkers, Amy and Danielle, had conflicts, I would receive an e-mail from Beth and Lana letting me know and giving me the name and e-mail of the walker who would be covering for them. I am so lucky to have had Amy as my walker for my entire time with FurKid Co. Amy was beyond awesome and a total pro with my quirky pup, and I probably trusted her more with him than I did my own family. She was always punctual, responsible, and communicative. More than that, she was so sweet with my dog, and my dog adored her in return. I received an e-mail from her every day with a report on how he did on his walk, and additional texts when something time-sensitive came up. Amy was such a tremendous help throughout the years, going above and beyond the duty of a standard dog walker, giving me wonderful advice, tips, and tremendous peace of mind. I am beyond grateful for all of her help; she is truly the best of the best! About a year and a half in to my time with Furkid, I decided to add an extra mid-day walk to my dog's day, which is when we met our second walker, Danielle. Danielle was such a kind, sweet person and very affectionate with my dog. She was also great about giving me updates on the goings-on of their walks. As I mentioned above, Milo is quirky dog, and I was impressed with how quickly Danielle adapted and learned from those quirks given the shortness of the walks. I sadly had to move from my old apartment in June of last year, and my new apartment was not in the area that FurKid Company services so I had to say goodbye to this wonderful company. However, if Furkid is available to you, I can recommend them wholeheartedly. You will not find better pet-care anywhere else. A tremendous thank you to Beth, Lana, Amy, and Danielle!

It was a brutal winter and I also had a cold, and maybe assumed we were in the same boat. But she encouraged me, against my own reluctance, to get an x-ray immediately. I did, and the x-ray revealed it was a much more serious condition called congestive heart failure. She helped get him emergency doses of a medication that likely saved his life during a really stressful snowstorm week in February where it was difficult to coordinate. She also pushed me to take him to a cardiologist, which I was also reluctant to do. But I'm glad I did. He was really at death's door 5 months ago, and now he's under a treatment plan that has kept him alive with decent quality of life. I'm super grateful to the Dr. Lee, and the staff generally. I almost forgot to leave this review for the treatment that happened in February, because when you're stressed out over a pet and the pet survives the last thing you think about it giving credit on yelp. Your mind is on your pet. That's something to consider when reading reviews. I also just took him in for a vet-tech appointment yesterday and the tech also was super helpful and reassuring. So overall this place has been great.

If your pet needs anything more complex than routine vaccines, DO NOT GO HERE…read more I brought my young cat here with a lump that was eventually diagnosed as mammary cancer, she died later in the year. The treatment she received at world of animals was abysmal. This practice has serious issues with communication, knowledge and accuracy. I was first told my cats cancerous tumor was benign and to just "try antibiotics", then after removing the tumor, I was inaccurately told that they removed all of it, and that she would survive many more years and no treatment was needed, and I was dismissed and almost laughed at when I would bring up concerns about how she was acting. In fact, they did not remove it all, and her cancer was extremely aggressive and she needed treatment that they didn't even tell me about, so she only lived another 6 months. My final interaction with this practice was them giving me the wrong dosage for my dying cats pain medication, which was TEN TIMES her normal dose. Luckily I noticed before giving it to her. I highly recommend going to Penn Vet or PASE for anything cancer-related, and will not be taking any pet here again.

I'm on the west coast, so I didn't think we could actually work together, but find her quite accessible since she does virtual sessions and is also active on her Patreon. I have a lot of experience with dog rescue, and I often adopt dogs with special needs. I have a dog that has obviously experienced some trauma around other dogs, and Erika has been incredibly helpful. She is generous with her knowledge and her time, she has lots of training tools like handouts and videos, and she is a delightful person in general. Great sense of humor, and it feels warm and fuzzy to work with her, which is so nice because often when we have problematic dogs, we don't feel good about it and we blame ourselves. Not only does she use positive reinforcement in her training for dogs, but also for people, because often it is us that needs to be trained. My dog is doing so much better since I started working with her. I highly recommend. I'm excited to work with her more in the future.

This was my first puppy and I work a ton! Erika came to my place stating when Koda was about 10 weeks old. We did the puppy basic but Erika adjusted to our speed (Koda is fricking smart and picks things up so fast). I have never seen anyone respond to emails faster in my life! And Erika is always on Instagram like me so I can get tips and tricks even when we aren't in session! Koda is now 4 months old.. he responds to sit, stay (with distractions and long periods of time), down, touch, paw, other paw lol, crate, "home" (his play pen), leave it, drop... and he is amazing on a leash now. He goes potty almost on command. I got him potty trained in 4 days (aside from the occasional accident when he is excited to see people) Anyway.. I love Erika and wish I wasn't moving to St. Louis. But, it's awesome knowing I can always email or call her!

Having my pup who is full of energy in a big city seemed like a daunting task, but with Kate/Ethan's help to break the days up while I am at work, it has been exponentially better then I had imagined. Not only does my pup love the city but she also loves her walkers. When I first moved to the city I called and talked with several companies. The reason I gave MixyPaws the first go was totally due to Kate's professionalism as well as attentiveness to my pups needs. Having grown up around lots of land, my pup is only used to going to the bathroom on grass and luckily I live right next to central park. Well some other establishment told me that I need to retrain and wait her out to make her go to the bathroom on concrete because they couldn't guarantee a trip to the park.....right next to my house...sigh. Kate on the other hand, made the time to come and visit the same day on a weekend afternoon to meet myself and my pup and go over/confirm all the requirements I had for the walk. It was also clear to me that this was business of dog lovers not just dog walkers. Kate, and the two walkers my pup has been with, have been amazing. I get text message updates regularly about the walks and I have also been able to rely on MixyPaws for ad-hoc requests due to unforeseen circumstances. This flexibility has been amazing. If you go somewhere else for your pup...good luck. I cant imagine a better service, w/better people then MixyPaws. P.S. They even sent us a Christmas Card! :)

Yes, it can cost an arm and a leg--thank God for pet insurance--but I understand this is 24-hour emergency care, and that's never cheap. Most importantly, I don't feel pressured into upsells or unnecessary treatments, which I really appreciate. Every doctor I've seen has been very patient, attentive, and professional--and all the employees, vets, and techs are genuinely compassionate as well. I especially appreciated Dr. Alexander Nunez, who treated my dog last night and really stood out for his care and approach. I've never had a bad experience here. I'm genuinely grateful to live so close to a place I can rely on for my pet's emergencies.

Veterinary emergency group is not a full animal hospital. And their prices are higher because they…read moreare for profit so before you go there consider this- Is your animal stable? If so you would be better off to drive to a 24-hour full hospital like the emergency room at ordell animal hospital or The animal medical center. That way whatever your animal needs there are doctors who can be called in and 24-hour doctors on staff. For example if you need an ultrasound veg does not have anyone to call in. They are not equipped to give an MRI they are not equipped to give a CAT scan they are equipped to do X-rays and blood work but they drag their feet about giving me my blood work within the 48 hours that we were there when I was leaving with my dog they refused to give me my blood work and took 4 days to give me my blood work and x-rays they could have just sent me the data they did the blood work in house and they could have released the X-rays to me to show it to my regular vet. They did this because they wanted to write a report they delayed me in getting the care that I wanted to get during the prelude to a massive Thanksgiving holiday. What veg is good for is that they will immediately treat your animal!... They will begin treatment while they are admitting your animal. So if your animal is having difficulty breathing if you think they have an allergy if you think they ate something poisonous then I would go to the closest facility including VEG but if they're stable or you are the same distance from a full 24-hour hospital like the animal specialty center in Yonkers the animal medical center in Manhattan the or oradell animal hospital in New Jersey then that is where I would go . Be also prepared that they can be extremely insensitive. I was on the phone with a friend to get help paying because I had been caring for a sick family member for the last 3 years it was during COVID.... And I was on the phone with a friend who was helping me set up payment. She decided that the last minute that she was only going to pay half and so I had to call another friend to help with the other half here they actually put this in the report like that was noteworty.... Like it was awesome how that somebody would have an emergency in the middle of the night and rushed to the hospital knowing that they had family and friends who would help. Oh yeah and they charge me for two bottles of medicine two bottles of clavamox and still have not reimbursed me for the bottle that they didn't give me. Be prepared that you're going to pay more for that care. This is not unusual but a reason to try and find a true 24-hour hospital versus an emergency only facility..
