The best piercer in Northern VA. Super clean, very knowledgeable, and extremely detail-oriented. Piercings are something you live with for life, so you really have to love them. Lora is truly the best -- highly recommend. I used to have very low piercings and they looked terrible. I tried getting stacked piercings at Rowan, but the nurse (piercer) didn't really know what they were doing. My ears were poked multiple times, nothing was lined up, and it just looked off. Even though I paid a lot, I ended up taking them out. Then I went to Lora -- she immediately understood what I wanted, walked me through everything, and gave thoughtful recommendations. The result looks SO much better. I honestly wish I had found her earlier. Do not go to places that use piercing guns or devices -- they don't follow your markings properly. Go to Lora. read more

March 2022 - COVID Review: For my second tattoo, I came to Patriot's and worked with Kinsey Miller, after doing a ton of research. I loved the scheduling and tattoo process through Patriot's the best. You can either call or send an email to the shop (email takes 2-7 days for an answer) and you'll work with the owner, Curt, to schedule everything. My initial appointment was to come in for a consultation, which took less than 30 minutes. Make sure you come prepared with reference photos and have a decent idea of what you want. Then I was able to come back a week later so that Kinsey could should me the designs that she came up with from my references. Once I agreed to move forward, Curt does the pricing and schedules the tattoo date! My tattoo (maybe the size of my palm/hand) took a little over an hour but they usually schedule you for longer in case you wanted any additional design changes. Which did happen to be the case for me, but I loved and appreciated how patient Kinsey was with me so that I knew it was something I would want on me permanently! You also sign the consent/waiver form and pay before you are brought back for your tattoo. I definitely recommend Kinsey because her line work is impeccable! read more

I went to Patriots to get my first tattoo. I saw this place had a lot of good ratings so I decided to give it a shot. When you get inside there are a lot of designs to browse through in case you need ideas. I went with a medium sized tattoo on my chest (as seen in the picture) for $135. Tyler was the one who did my tattoo and he was a friendly guy who provided good customer service. The tattoo was slightly painful but after 30 minutes it was completed. I was given instructions on how to take care of it and Tyler gave me his contact info in case I had anymore questions. On the way out I realized that I had not gotten the opportunity to give him his tip so I ran back inside to do so lol. Fast forward to several weeks later and the tattoo looks good and I'm happy with it. The healing process was only slightly uncomfortable with some itching and peeling. Overall the place seemed friendly and hygienic and the people there are these alternative/ hipster artists lol. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to get a good tattoo! read more

The sign-in process was really quick, but I was given all the information I needed. Rachel was ready for me less than 10 minutes after I got there. The studio was clean and well-lit. I got a double pierce in my ear last month with Lauren and had a great experience. The place on my ear I had initially thought I wanted didn't really work for my anatomy and Lauren took her time to suggest other ideas and places for it. The first time i got my nose pierced with them it was great. a week after i got my nose pierced my stud fell out abt 2 months ago so i decided to get my nose repierced again today via appointment (which was today). First off, I was a walk-in and didn't know if they had time for me but they did! I was also very nervous about getting my first piercing that wasn't on my ear (got a navel piercing). However, the very nice lady (didn't catch her name but she had pretty blue hair) reassured me that it was going to mostly be painless.
