She is super personable to talk to - that my session went by pretty quickly - and so skilled at what she does. I sent over two inspo pictures and she got the design just right with the font, spacing and even delicateness of the letters! I absolutely love it. I normally get skin hives from environmental stressors but my tattoo was only slightly red immediately after and not hiving at all in the recovery. It is healing really well, too. I came to Wicked Goddess after my 9 year old daughter told me she was ready to get her ears pierced. alright, easy enough. I knew I wasn't going to take her to Claire's & I was worried about piercing her ears while they would still be growing. in comes Rachel, who came highly recommend on the Google and reddit. I booked the appointment for the end of November for Rachel since I figured this would give my daughter enough time to back out if she changed her mind. she did not. so the day after Thanksgiving, we went over to Mosaic to get her ears pierced. they let her pick out her earrings first and were so great. they let her hold the earrings up to her ear to give her a visual and gave her plenty of time to pick. Rachel sanitized everything and took her into the piercing room once she was ready. Rachel marked her ears a little higher up so when she grows, it'll be more centered as she got older. then came the first piercing, which my sensitive soul daughter took very personally. she refused to get her second ear pierced claiming she couldn't go through with it. with Rachel, my SIL, my husband and I trying to provide positive encouragement to continue on. Rachel ended up giving her the option to go grab some lunch to relax after the first piercing and to come back after. after our ramen lunch, we went back to get her second piercing. obviously it wasn't an easy task getting her to go through with it. I ended up having her sit down on my lap with Katseye playing just so Rachel could finish it. so to the amazing Rachel (who just came back from maternity leave!!), thank you! my daughter loves her piercings now and can't/won't stop looking at them. I got three ear piercings done in one session here with Rachel and she was great! I booked with her specifically because of her past work, but she's also friendly and relatable. The space was clean and we talked through all the steps I needed to take after (cleaning and when to return for downsizing). I love the way the piercings turned out and that we talked through my anatomy/what I was able to do. I would definitely come back here if I wanted anything else done! Cost wise, it's pricier than I've experienced at other places but it seems to be in line with other places in the area. I ended up paying $230 (without tip) for the three piercings with the most basic jewelry (I have to go back and get them downsized anyways, so it didn't make sense to go for the pretty jewelry until I was healed). I did add a tip on top of that base price, but I'm sure that varies for everybody. read more

Damaris Martinez is a phenomenal tattooist. I am thrilled with how this turned out. She is an excellent conversationalist and told me she excels at lettering. She was not wrong. It cost $100 for the deposit and another $100 for completion. Given the size, I didn't think the cost was bad for what I received. It took just under 2 hours. I recently moved to the area and have been looking for a new shop to get more piercings and tattoos, and I really enjoyed my experience here. I will say, one of the main reasons I picked this location were the reviews/ the about page regarding LGBTQ friendliness, but the overall professionalism and care sealed it for future visits. I already had 13 piercings before going here for my next two, so my piercer, Rachel, didn't spend a lot of time going over every minutia of care and treatment, but nor did it feel rushed. She went over the process, gave some advice, and asked questions of me about my body's history of healing. That last one especially made me feel more confident about coming here, on top of the general vibe and professionalism I encountered. We're now about two weeks in and so far the new piercings are doing great. I plan on going back for future piercings, and hopefully some more tattoos as well. A friend recommended this place and it was a great experience! You can easily make an appointment online based on the availability of the piercer. They have a large collection of earrings which was great to see!! The earrings have different price ranges so definitely ask for any recommendations and you do pay for the piercing itself. I felt no pressure or rush in choosing an earring.. i took a few minutes because everything was so pretty! You fill out some paperwork, choose your earring, pay, and wait for your name. I was in and out within 30 minutes. They do take walk ins but they seem pretty busy! I appreciated Rachael's recommendation of my helix piercing location. It was a comfortable atmosphere. Getting a tattoo has been on my bucket list for quite sometime. After having gone through quite a lot the past few years, I realized that life is short and you have to do the things that scare you...getting a tattoo was one of them. For years, I would draw or use Sharpie on my skin and draw hearts on my wrist or write "Love" in cursive. I never went through with it until going through what I would deem a life altering experience (and not the good kind) but it gives you perspective and gives you this nudge or push to live life as if the world were going to end tomorrow kind of thing. So I did it. I searched for a tattoo shop on Yelp and Google. In my mind, I had a Tattoos By Lou kind of perception on tattoo shops (it actually exists...in Miami...where I hail from)...You know...the kind with a neon sign adorning the window, with a tattoo of a snake or a heart with a sword decorated with the snake and ivy swirling up it and a guy tatted up with the tattoo machine buzzing gearing up and ready to go. Yeah, not really my scene...so I asked the universe for a tattoo shop that would not offer that grungy type of experience and I happened upon Wicked Goddess tattoo. I will say that at first I was somewhat reluctant to go simply because of the name "Wicked Goddess"...I do not consider myself to be such but like maybe it is meant in like a bad*** type of way like when teens say "that's rad or wicked" (i think that kind of slang was used in the 80's, but still) and read the reviews and they were all great. I made the appointment via email after checking out their website. It seemed exactly the kind of place that would be perfect to get my first (and I would come to learn, not last) tattoo. I liken the vibe to being serene. It did smell like what I would assume to be ink or like a sterile hospital lol but you get used to it. What I was impressed by was how much effort was put into making sure my tattoo would be just right. Sara, the director, went ahead, on my first visit, as I have been twice now..actually created a stencil for me of a cross and the word "fearless". She printed them out for me and then placed them on my skin where i wished for them to be. She printed various sizes to give me a better idea of what it would look like. After deciding the right size, she told me to have a seat and would prep the station beforehand. You also have to complete some forms as well prior to getting the tattoos and they are serious about one. One has to do with like the dermatological association of Virginia, almost like a consent form you'd receive before you go to a doctor's appt. and the other was a waiver outlining possible risks. I particularly liked the decor in the store, kind of mystical oriented, but still neutral enough to not feel like you were entering a store based around witchcraft. After prepping the station, Sara had to prep me and my skin. She explained step-by-step what she was doing. I am very much an information seeker so it actually relieved my anxiety to know what it would feel like or what might come next. She told me it would feel like a cat scratch which it felt more like if i dug a really sharp human nail and etched a drawing into my skin. It is not unbearable, but it is uncomfortable and I winced and flinched and scrunched/squeezed my eyes shut to bare with it. It's a needle poking into the top layer of your skin, so you're bound to feel something. After I had completed one, (the cross), it was onto tattoo #2. which was a word in cursive which would take more time. It went by quicker than expected. I almost passed out and saw stars towards the end after she was finished, but made it through. I will say that my second time back was just as pleasant as the first. I did not wait long. She made sure (Sara) that my tattoo (a heart) was exactly how I wanted and the color I wanted. She even mixed some together at first to play around with what color I was looking for. I highly recommend you ask for her if it's your first time getting a tattoo. She won't make you feel weird or awkward amd will guide you through the process. The store owner was nice as well. They seem like they all get along well. It is cool that it is a women's run business (#femalepowerment) ^_^ Will I be back?...Most likely...I am considering paw prints next to honor all dogs and cats and animal life everywhere, that or "Love Always Wins". The point is that they did an excellent job and I am lucky I found such a good establishment to do my tattoos. They were also very responsive in respect to getting back to me in a timely manner and booking an appt. I had missed the first appt. and were kind enough to not charge me a fee or anything as you never know because some places do that, like when you miss a dinner reservation at a popular place. I highly recommend their services. It's clean, non-threatening, has a very chill/peaceful vibe and the staff is very nice. They treat it like body art and I am amazed at what these artists can do. read more

I had a great experience here! I came in really concerned about a belly piercing I had gotten somewhere else that wasn't healing properly. Kristen clearly knows what she's talking about she took the time to actually explain what went wrong and why. She pointed out that I don't have the right anatomy for a standard navel piercing and talked me through what my options were instead of just trying to make a quick buck. You can tell that they actually care about their clients here and aren't just about the cash grab. They care about doing things right, using the right jewelry, and making sure piercings are placed correctly for your body. I'm healing now and will definitely be coming back here when I'm ready to get re-pierced. I went here over a year ago and got my belly pierced by a girl piercer (don't remember her name). She gave me a floating navel and now that I have done my research, she gave me incorrect jewelry. My jewelry got irritated and I had to take it out, now I have a big hole in the top of my belly button and my bottom hole has closed. 3/5/23 I met two ladies today at the shop. Rachel Mantha is the first person to greet me. I then heard a voice talking to me from behind me. Kristen sat at a table with a big smile on her face. Both ladies have great personalities from what I saw. The ambience I felt is positive and not hostile like some places I have been too. Kristen is the who I believe is on of the owners of Wicked Goddess was able to answer a lot of my quests while the other lady (Rachel Mantha) helped out another guest/customer. Oh! News flash, Kristen is not one of the owners from what she told me, but Rachel Mantha is. One of the tattoo artist is a lady named Sara. ( I hope she is not offended that I left the "H" out of the name. Sara specializes in Fine Lining and illustrated tattoos. Sara wasn't there today, but I will be sure to set up a meeting with her soon. I learned there are two tattoo artists and two piercing artists at this store. There are two private rooms and three piercing areas. The private areas can be used for either tattoo or piercings if you value your privacy. Let the artists know ahead of time if you need a private room when you book your appointment. Otherwise, your appointment could be postponed or done in public area. When you go online and set up an appointment on Wicked Goddess, prices, location of the pericing(s)/tattoo(s) will be discussed. *If you didn't know or it's your first time getting a pericing or tattoo, the location and size of the tattoo/piercing can have a dramatic effect on the cost of your procedure.* I asked Kristen if the tattoo one gets is done in one sitting? This was a loaded question and Kristen answered it like a champion. The size of the tattoo is key. If it is large and in charge tattoo, the lining for your tattoo will be done first. You will most likely be asked to come back for the coloring/shading. If the tattoo is medium size or small, then there is a very good chance the the lining and shading/coloring will be done in one sitting. Depending one's tolerance of pain and the location of your tattoo or piercing, will make all the difference. I myself did not see any piercings that got my interest, but I am sure my wife might like some of the body/ear jewelry. I appreciate the help Kristen gave me. I had the pleasure of being tattooed by Damaris. I wanted to do something to honor my parents and combine my love of astronomy and astrology. Damaris helped me to flush out my idea and make sure the design fit my needs. The result was a dainty combination of their zodiac constellations that I'm strongly considering turning into a half sleeve. I as nervous about getting it done and her "chair side" manner was impeccable! She made me feel at ease, the conversation flowed naturally, she checked in regularly through the process to make sure I was comfortable, and did all of that while working efficiently!
