Lots of tap selections, friendly service, friendly patrons who slid down so I could get an open barstool (and I dont even require that much room!). An open, simply furnished space, like a number of breweries I've seen in strip mall spaces. If the beer is good, the rest doesn't matter that much. And the beer I had was good. Got a taste of their bock and then ordered a pint. Full bodied and carmelly without going overboard on sweetness. Tried a sample of an imperial hazy IPA called The Object and that was truly splendid. Had a bit of a drive ahead of me so I got a 4-pack to go. They have quite a few canned brews in their cooler. You can get crowlers to go as well. Which I expect I'll do pretty soon.

Tonight we shared the BLT with avocado and their skin-on fries (so good!). I had the Tropical Cherry Mule --absolutely delicious--and David tried the Hazy Vibes IPA. Yesterday he and his buddy sampled the Lacto Kooler Sour, loved it so much they bought a six-pack and a shirt before leaving! A huge shoutout to our bartenders, Sarah and Shana, who made us feel right at home. We also had the pleasure of meeting owner Carla, who is incredibly friendly and a fellow dog lover--always a bonus in my book! The artwork throughout the brewery is stunning, hand-painted by two tattoo artists from Old World Tattoo in Imlay City. The detail is incredible and really gives the place its own unique personality. Wayne and Amy were incredible to work with while planning everything--they helped coordinate the setup, worked with us on catering appetizers, and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. They even accommodated us bringing in our own cake, which was a huge plus. They gave us a large dedicated section for our group, and everything ran seamlessly all night. The food and drinks were fantastic across the board--everyone in our party was raving. The pretzel bites with beer cheese were a big hit, and the pulled pork nacho bar for appetizers was next level. People kept going back for more and talking about it all night. But the real standout of the evening was our waitress, Karissa. She was an absolute rockstar. We had a large group with individual tabs for everyone, and she kept everything perfectly organized without missing a beat. There's not a lot of options out here so we get used to taking what you get but to have one be a total bust sucked. If they adjusted the sweetness/overpowering flavors and the business model a bit, they'd have the potential to bring in a lot more business.

It's also on the 419 Ale Trail, which if you are visiting Toledo was a lot of fun to participate in (Google it and check it out - it's a a self paced brewery tour that gives prizes when you hit a certain number). Basically now I'm obsessed with Meade and am so sad that I do not have a place local to me to enjoy it and make believe I'm a rogue ninja in an old tavern awaiting my bounty.
