I have been thinking about buying meat in bulk recently so I took a look. They proceeded to show me box after box of different cuts of frozen steak and chicken and telling me stories of how each cut and marinade is the best. I am not a meat aficionado, but I know enough to know that all frozen meat looks pretty much the same. There was no way to tell if this was grade a meat or dog food, and when they repeatedly told me about their guarantee, all I could think about was the guarantee Chris Farley gives in Tommy Boy. When I balked at their initial price, the other guy in the van then gets his "boss" on the phone and tells me that he wants to negotiate a deal. Things felt a little sketchy at that point and I told him I needed to grab my phone from inside the house. The first thing I did was go to yelp and thankfully all of the terrible reviews made my decision a no-brainer. I went back out to the van and told them I was not interested. They reacted the same way as others have described but didn't have an answer when told them I wasn't buying because of their terrible reviews on yelp. Thank you Yelpers!

We ordered the Japanese pan noodles with beef and mac and cheese with chicken and shrimp…read more I am surprised about how good this was, especially for a fast food type of spot. My noodles had a unique texture. They were chewy, almost like rice cakes. I really really enjoyed the texture and keep dreaming about getting another bowl. The steak was also flavored really well. Next time, I will order double meat because I feel I needed a little more protein to noodle ratio. There wasn't a lot of sauce, so the noodles were a bit drier. I like that but there is an option for more sauce. Overall, I really enjoyed the dishes, and the only thing i'd change is more protein and vegetables for next time.

We both got the same thing our go to buttered noodles with Parmesan crusted chicken. Before I tell the next part remember the name of the pasta specifically states butter. Unfortunately the food took 20 minutes to come out mind you the place was completely empty. When my friends food approached the table as she began to start eating it, we noticed it was quite dry. As we looked further into it, we developed a sense of knowledge that both our pasta were really cold and my friend had zero butter on her pasta. You would think they directly took it out of the pot and placed it right in her bowl and dried it completely. Also, we had to pay four dollars extra for the chicken mind you we got maybe two pieces each extremely thin and cut up to minuscule pieces. To say we are disappointed would be an extreme understatement. To think that we hiked all the way out to Whitemarsh just to enjoy some noodles and Company is quite sad given the circumstances of our food. I never liked to leave bad reviews, but I believe this experience called for at least a review just to give some feedback. The workers were nice, but it did take a minute for us to be acknowledged when my friend was acknowledged. The interaction wasn't very pleasant and my friend felt uncomfortable in the situation. we hope that this review can provide constructive criticism because we do enjoy noodles and company. We just had a pretty outlandish experience.

On my breaks I love to run over and get a lemon smoothie and add vanilla protein. I pay about $4, which is a better price than the $6 I would pay for a smaller protein shake at Bally's. I only give them three stars because I have tried to get this lemon smoothie with vanilla protein two times before the employees would actually let me have it. Yes, I said "let me". The first time, the man working the counter told me that the lemon does not mix well with the vanilla and suggested I try something else. I gave in and let him talk me into a strawberry smoothie. I went again a couple weeks later and the woman behind the counter also told me that vanilla and lemon would not be a good combination. The next time I went and again asked for a lemon smoothie with vanilla protein, that same man that was there the first time told me again that it would not taste good and tried to persuade me to try something else. I told him that I would really like to have vanilla with lemon and I will pay for it even if I didn't like it. He gave in and made me the shake I had been craving for so long! I made him try it. We both loved it. SUCCESS! (If you are wondering, it tastes like key lime. So if you like key lime, I suggest this combination. You have to insist that this is really what you want.) Now when I walk up to the stand, they know what I want ;)

While I can appreciate that this is a chain and there should be some consistency across the board, I do feel this location consistently gets it right when it comes to the flavor mixes. I've had ones at other stands where there's not enough flavor or worse yet too much powder (eek!) But I always get the perfect blend here. Plus, I have yet to have tapioca pearls here that are still crunchy in the middle. So two thumbs up from me!

I suspect Captain Jim runs his ships all the same, no matter where they are located, so I'll put it here - but if the Captain is still in the same spot next year, I'll start the new Yelp page then. My grandfather lived in Dundalk all his life, and he was a tremendously important person in my life. He passed some time ago and is buried at... one of those cemeteries on German Hill, right across the street from Captain Jim's. I like to visit him on his birthday, and Christmas if I have the chance. This year would have been his 99th birthday. I put a box of Butterfinger candies on his headstone because they were his favorite, and decided that I would get some steamed crabs in his honor because they were also one of his favorite things (and I had the money). We were originally going to get the crabs somewhere else, but figured, 'hey, Captain Jim's is right here. Why not give them a try?' We weren't disappointed. It took about 20 minutes for them to freshly steam 3 dozen small males, and a pound of shrimp for us. It wasn't much more than $50 (which is what I had on hand from my grandmother, who has been without my grandfather for at least 15 years now). The scent of the (I'm guessing) J.O2 seasoning filled our van, and the steam from the crabs actually fogged our windows. I spent about 8 hours picking crabs. I find the activity so calming, and could do it all the time if my arthritic elbows and shoulders didn't throw an absolute fit the next day. The crabs were delicious and made me happy, and isn't that the point? We got two different butters to dip the crab in, but that's not really my thing. My boyfriend said that the plain butter tasted woody, and he didn't like that, but the garlic butter was a hit and he has used the leftover butter to make at least one dinner so far. The shrimp were lovely, and came with cocktail sauce, and steamed onions because what's the point of steamed shrimp if not to get some onions as well? I think we did right by my grandfather. Would recommend
