    Undercooked snap peas with stems
    Shannon A.

My husband and I came here for a quick bite during Covid and it was honestly pretty bad. The employees were nice, or it would have been a one star. It's a hot summer day in Baltimore and the air conditioning is broken. It's miserable and has to be terrible for safety right now. The food took over 15 minutes when only one other family was there. The food was awful. The Mac and Cheese was mushy and liquidy. The snap peas in my husbands orange chicken dish were inedible. Then an employee, who was well intentioned, approached us at the table to make sure all was good with her mask halfway down. We couldn't get out of here soon enough and have no reason to come back. It's a shame because we used to come here regularly and things were previously great.

WOW, went here for a nice meal before heading home after a long day out. Upon entering the location wasn't crowded which was a good thing-we thought! We ordered & the cashier was friendly. I went to get the self serve drinks and find a table. That's where things took a bad turn I walked around the entire place & ALL the tables were filthy and had not been cleaned! However there were employees sitting around doing nothing and others standing around talking! I finally got paper towels and cleaned a table and 2 chairs so we could eat dinner. Then our food came out and my Mac n' cheese was horrible. It was noodles with a little bit of cheese and very dry, over cooked! Definitely not the same quality Mac n' cheese I had gotten there previously. Barely edible! I had to refill my drink 4 times to eat this dry food! Unacceptable! 1/5 only for the cashier who took our order for friendly service otherwise I'd give no stars and honestly they need a visit from the health Dept asap! I'm not going back ever again & sadly I loved their Mac n cheese. Filthy place and disgusting food

We found this place on our drive home from Washington DC The name sounded interesting and we had not even looked at the ratings. I have to say this is one of the first times I'm glad I did not look at the reviews. Upon entering the restaurant is clean and the people are smiling and happy. We ordered the green curry with tofu substituted. It was flavorful and the noodles were cooked just right. Honestly I would rate it a 4.95 it would be a solid five if it had more sauce. My son got the stroganoff he enjoyed it however I was not nearly as impressed when I tasted it. Over all I have to say the judge in this establishment on A competitive fast food platform you can't go wrong. Don't come in expecting a five star chef with meals under $10

    Beef stroganoff. Added spinach

So. Never been here before. Glad i stumbled on it. Had a weird craving for beef stroganoff and not a lot of choices here in northern MD It's sorta a "fast food cooked to order place". They have pre-planned noodle meals but I guess you can make your own. I added spinach to mine and it was an extra $1 So apparently not a "Pick a noodle type, meat, then add-ins" for one price like "nothin but noodles" back in Bama. Less than 10-15min later your food is brought to you The small is perfect for a quick meal-craving. Looks like the regular is made for half to take home. In hindsight, at only $1.25 more it's worth ordering the regular. It wasn't perfect Russian stroganoff and the meat had bits of some chewy fat: but was still well seasoned and hit my craving. Which is why I came

Stopped for some Mac and cheese with the wife. Had the Buffalo Chicken Mac and it was good. My wife had the straight Mac and cheese and it was also good. The server was friendly and helpful. Generally, it was exactly as I expected from a chain restaurant. The food was good but not awesome. One negative...very table we tried to sit at was a little dirty and sticky. They look like they hadn't been cleaned in awhile. Overall, a decent place. They just need to pay a little more attention to the cleanliness.

Worst Mac n Cheese I've ever had! Honestly so disappointing after the menu says it's made with multiples cheeses and it's all smooth together but when my order came out it was nothing that I expected! Then my friends food came out in which we both got ceaser salads, one small and one regular, for them to turn out to have the same amount just in different sized bowls. Would not recommend wasting your time here.

Vegan thai curry soup with tofu

What a great chain! We stopped here on our drive back to Boston on 95N. Glad we did it - so much better than other fast food places and chains. The staff was really friendly and they get you your meal within 5 minutes of ordering it. Granted it isn't as fast or cheap as say Taco Bell or Panda Express but the quality is way better. I got the Thai Curry with tofu (and the curry is all vegan! They don't label it but they told me it is so no fish sauce or beef stock. I imagine most of their Asian noodles dishes can be vegan). It was really yummy especially with the fresh cilantro. However they should de-stem the cilantro or put it on the side. Nothing is more annoying than having to pull cilantro stems out of your mouth or in the soup to just eat the leaves. I wish there were more veggies in my soup though and less onions. And more noodles. Kind of ironic to have a place called Noodles & Company that isn't generous on the noodles! The portion of liquid to noodles wasn't good, so add more noodles! Otherwise it was delicious. Lots of flavor and spicy. My boyfriend got the Pad Thai with chicken and he liked it a lot. They put a ton of fried egg in the Pad Thai, more than I have ever seen. The chicken is in big chunks not little pieces like the tofu. However I am glad my tofu was in little pieces I like that better and it fries better. I got a bottle cream soda to drink and he got a fountain drink. I think our total was around $22? So yeah not super cheap but decent pricing. You pay for the bowl/salad/sandwich and then add your protein (beef, chicken, shrimp, and tofu and maybe more?) There are other dishes too like Italian and Mediterranean dishes. There are a fair amount of vegan and vegetarian dishes, especially with the Asian dishes. Not so many vegan ones that are Italian though. They also put the calorie count on each dish but I don't know if that includes the protein calories too? If you check-in with FourSquare for the first time you get a free cookie or rice krispie treat. So I asked for the free rice krispie treat for my boyfriend - it was huge! The only downfall at the place is that there is only one bathroom for women and one for men, so you have to wait forever to use it.

On the plus side my family enjoyed the ribs and crab balls. On the negative side, the fish in my fish and chips was painfully thin and small. Normally you get a nice chunky piece of fish when you get fish and chips. Not only that, l've never had fish and chips where the skin was on the fish. I left most of the skin behind, but ate some of it because the portion was so small. I had to eat something. Please have the chef look up what fish and chips is supposed to look like. Despite being the only server, our wait person was outstanding - it wasn't their fault that they had to handle the entire dining room. . Also appreciated the carafe of water on the table - but why no ice -had to drink lukewarm water. Make sure to ask for prices upfront and verify-for a single crabcake entrée, we paid $63 when it's advertised online as 30. Let the buyer beware.. I popped in to The Local with one of my friends for a much needed happy hour and we were both in consensus we had to come back to try some other menu items and specials. $7 for the house Sangria and a mule of the day, was a great start to the evening and quite tasty. We both dined on the burger and fries and enjoyed the dish. I would've like a bit of seasoning on the burger patties and maybe a cheddar or American cheese, but that's my personal preference. I asked for the black truffle aioli on the side and that was definitely the way to go to really be able to taste the black truffle. And might I say the aioli was delicious. Our waitress was great and very attentive. The Local offers different specials on various nights and even does live music on Friday nights. This is a great place on the Avenue to enjoy dishes made with ingredients from local businesses and enjoy a delicious meal.

The noodles were flavored and multicolored and the macaroni salad seemed to be a hit. We also could not resist these weird spongy blue sour egg shaped candies because Jeremy loves blue Raspberry anything. He's been trying to get me to try one ever since because it's a texture sensation, but not necessarily in a good way. Unfortunately, all three of our entrées, which included grilled chicken breast, were extremely salty. As someone who has eaten at several Olive Garden locations, I felt the food quality and freshness at this location fell below the usual standard. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Margherita, and the excessive salt ruined the dish. While the staff was friendly and the service was efficient, the food quality was disappointing. I suspect Captain Jim runs his ships all the same, no matter where they are located, so I'll put it here - but if the Captain is still in the same spot next year, I'll start the new Yelp page then. My grandfather lived in Dundalk all his life, and he was a tremendously important person in my life. He passed some time ago and is buried at... one of those cemeteries on German Hill, right across the street from Captain Jim's. I like to visit him on his birthday, and Christmas if I have the chance. This year would have been his 99th birthday. I put a box of Butterfinger candies on his headstone because they were his favorite, and decided that I would get some steamed crabs in his honor because they were also one of his favorite things (and I had the money). We were originally going to get the crabs somewhere else, but figured, 'hey, Captain Jim's is right here. Why not give them a try?' We weren't disappointed. It took about 20 minutes for them to freshly steam 3 dozen small males, and a pound of shrimp for us. It wasn't much more than $50 (which is what I had on hand from my grandmother, who has been without my grandfather for at least 15 years now). The scent of the (I'm guessing) J.O2 seasoning filled our van, and the steam from the crabs actually fogged our windows. I spent about 8 hours picking crabs. I find the activity so calming, and could do it all the time if my arthritic elbows and shoulders didn't throw an absolute fit the next day. The crabs were delicious and made me happy, and isn't that the point? We got two different butters to dip the crab in, but that's not really my thing. My boyfriend said that the plain butter tasted woody, and he didn't like that, but the garlic butter was a hit and he has used the leftover butter to make at least one dinner so far. The shrimp were lovely, and came with cocktail sauce, and steamed onions because what's the point of steamed shrimp if not to get some onions as well? I think we did right by my grandfather.
