Pat and his staff fixed a lock issues fast. A year later still no problems.

My wife hired Pat's to fix one of our door knobs and repair a door latch. He also went around and banged in all of the pins in our door hinges, after noticing they were sticking out due to our house settling over the years. Pat, the owner, was present with his nephew Jake who is his apprentice. Pat was incredibly personable. I had never used Pat's Key N Lock before but contacted them based on the reviews I read. I thought I had to have locks replaced on six different doors in my house. "Terry" came in and told me that only some locks needed to be replaced while others just needed a cylinder change, which would save me some money. It did. These guys are very knowledgeable in the area of locks and safes. They secured my entire house and did so with attention to detail. All doors open and close smoothly. Once there was a delay due to an emergency call for a lock out and they kept me informed of that, which is unusual with many contractors (those simply do not call). Pats Key N Lock is our go to location for all our key and lock needs! They have helped us out so many times with lost keys, broken locks, standardizing keys and key copies! We have had many many keys copied there and every one works first time no problem! I can't say the same for some of the big box stores. Nothing worse than having to haul my butt back to Home Depot when a key won't work and I have done that more than I want to admit. We only use Pats now. They have a colorful and cool selection of key blanks and tons of other neat stuff. The kids love going there for keys. Their prices are competitive and the work is exceptional. So I went to Pat several months ago and asked if he could copy my apartment keys for me. It was an unusual key blank he said, he would see if he could order it. Fair enough, he said to call back within the week and he'd let me know if he could do it. The next week I called, I got the same response, "I'm still waiting, call back next week." After the third week I just asked if he could call me instead of me constantly calling him back. Pat said that he would call me back seven total times. I got zero calls back. Over two months later, I called quite annoyed and asked if he could get the blanks or not, just give me a straight answer Yes or No. No problem, he said, I will call you back by the end of the day. Still no call. Seriously, what is so difficult about calling someone back after saying you will SEVEN TIMES? FINALLY, after leaving a message with one of his other works explaining my situation, I get a TEXT MESSAGE about three hours later from some different number saying sorry, can't get the keys. ARE YOU SERIOUS? More than eight weeks later, and you send a text message? At the very least have the decency to call back AFTER YOU SAY YOU WILL. I would give him one star if I could, quite possibly the worst service I have ever received. Needless to say, STAY AWAY from Pats unless you like wasting your time. read more

Went to Pat's to get a Honda key copied. Went in expecting to just get the new key cut (which I got cut promptly with a really cool machine) and be on my way. When I went to start my car I ran into some issues. I was expecting to have to solve the problem on my own (since it was a cheap key I bought from Amazon), but no, Pat went out of his way to help me come up with a solution. Going back and forth between the shop and my car in the parking lot, Pat helped me take apart both keys and figure out the best way to get it to work. He fully explained everything and I learned a lot in the process. I will certainly be back for anything I might need in the future. read more
