Had used in the past for some business clothes and all was fine --mainly pre covid era-- and maybe once or twice in a pinch since. So With most recent visit I had a pair of pants sewn up and all looked fine upon pick up --wore once and tear was back again and in same spot . And all within the course of 5 days from date of pick up I Took back in and said they would fix @ N/C . Due to recent ice storm they were a few days late on finishing .I stopped in to get on my way to a Dr appt nearby and told me to come back later not done or had moved me to the bottom of the urgency pile . I did and not so much as I am sorry- thanks - can we offer an discount on next project etc with my return later that afternoon to get these . Seemingly no care or thought about there issue . All too many times these days Companies have seemed to have lost their drive to go the extra mile / over and above's / offer of apologize etc. Still very disappointing from a spot that garners such high praise online and with news articles etc. that they have posted in lobby. I will look to other spots in moving ahead as life is all about choices .As I will not be choosing them again . read more

From start to finish the process was miserable. My dress was not finished when promised. I had to go back multiple times for work that was not completed.. On my last visit, I pointed out two areas where the beading was still missing. She refused to mark those areas. When I went back to pick the dress up those areas were still not done! As a male customer, I had a great experience here. I have had her do some minor alterations to pants in the past, but this time, I had a suit from a distance-tailoring company called Indochino. You submit your measurements online, order the suit you want, the options you want, and then they make it in Asia and ship it to you. When I received the suit, the coat looked like it was cut for someone with arms about 3 inches shorter than mine and the torso of a child. I'm not overweight, but I could have done the Chris Farley "fat man in a little coat" routine. I brought it to Patti and she gave me instructions to send to Indochino's tailors, which led to an excellent replacement. After one more adjustment by Patti, it's a great looking suit. She really knows her stuff- what is fixable, what isn't, and what is cost prohibitive vs. worthwhile. I also happened to see her working with the new Miss Virginia on her gown for her operatic performance, so that's another vote of confidence (she hadn't won then, but did end up winning the competition). read more

My daughter received her bridesmaids dress in the mail the day before Thanksgiving. I told her she needed to try it on to see if it fits since the bridal shop was in Chicago where the wedding will be and we live in Richmond VA. When she tried it on it looked like she was in a big humongous balloon. She is a size 6-8 and the dress looked at least like a size 18. She called the bride to be to check to see if they sent her dress to someone else by mistake. After checking and everyone had the correct sized dress. she called the bridal shop and they gave some ridiculous story that the way that they take measurements and since she has larger breast and butt made the dress bigger. Oh, the dress is made to be worn without a bra and that part of the dress looked like she was flat chested it was so big. At this point we knew the dress would need massive alterations and I looked up tailors who did brides and bridesmaids dress alterations. I found several but Patti P was given a five star rating by all her customers so I choose that one. Since it was the Saturday after thanksgiving I called to see if they were open and the most pleasant person answered the phone. After going to Shoney's for breakfast we went to Patti P. After my daughter who is 5'1 put the dress on for alterations the seemtress pinned the front, back, sides, slip, and the bottom which was extremely so long that it looked like a train and extremely flared . When pinning was completed the dress looked like a brand new dress that fitted her perfectly and once the alterations are completed she will look beautiful in the gown. We thought because of the extreme alterations needed it would cost $300 or more as we read that is what most tailors charge for this service. Surprise, they only charged $147.00 which my daughter was elated and of course mom paid for lol. As far as pick-up my daughter lives in Arlington Va and works in DC and won't be back home until that 12th or 13th of December so pick-up is scheduled for then. The wedding is New Years Eve in Chicago so the timing is great. We could not be more pleased with the kindness,courtesy,time, service and professionalism and the results of the alterations that Patti P afforded my daughter. If anyone ever ask me if I know a good tailor I will say I know an exceptional extraordinary one Patti P. If I could give a 10 star rating I would. Two happy people left the bridesmaid dress in more than capable hands. read more

NEVER, EVER AGAIN!!! If I could give this business less than 1 star, I would. I took 2 blazers and 1 pair of pants in for a reduction in the armholes and inseam. The scheduled pickup was 10 days from the date I brought the items in as I explained I needed them for a conference and would be flying out 3 days later than the pickup date. While I thought $105 was pricey for such minor alterations, I wanted to be sure they were professionally done and read reviews on this site that led me to believe this was the place to go. When I got there, they couldn't find my clothes and when I located them out on the floor, they had never been touched. I have since found other places that are both professional and less expensive. I am utterly SPEECHLESS! She turned the impossible, not only into the possible, but the UNBELIEVABLE! I bought a coverall/flight suit online for a Halloween costume and it turned out to not fit; it was ok at the bottom, but several sizes too small for the top of my body. Not being able to get that particular type of flightsuit in my size, I took it to Patti P's to see what my options were. She measured me and the suit and confirmed the top of the suit was WAY small but with some extra material, she assured me that she could build out the top of the flightsuit and that it would be ready for pick up before 10/31. (I planned to wear the costume to work). I accepted her quoted price and left it with her. Due to circumstances beyond her control (machine issues), it was not ready until several days after the quoted day of pickup, but I was still able to pick it up on the morning of 10/31. Needless to say, I was amazed at the work (and extra work) that she was able to do to make this flightsuit fit me. It fit me PERFECTLY!! Let me begin saying I'm very petite- and since children's sizes aren't often created to flatter adult women, I'm familiar with the process of tailoring down different pieces. That being said- this women is a miracle worker. I'd been searching for a classic quilted Burberry jacket within my budget- I found one that was six sizes too big. She re-cut the entire jacket and it looks flawless. I never worry about bringing my favorite vintage pieces or special pieces that are meaningful to me here, I've never had them altered to anything less than perfection. Clean, even professional seams, flawless fit, even when adding front or back seams to make the fit more feminine. I find the turnaround times to be relatively quick for the amount of work too, I dropped off three shifts to be tailored last Friday and am picking them up today. read more

Let me tell you a story that I think a lot of women on here have likely experienced. Was in a wedding a year ago. Had to order my dress online going only by measurements without being able to try the dress on. In my 26 years of living this has never faired well for me but I was hopeful! I cannot say enough about Patti. She is so friendly and does a great job on all of my alterations. I am short, so I always need pants hemmed. She has quick turn around and good prices. I take all of my formal dresses to her to be altered, and my husband takes all of his clothes to her too. She has had a few occasions where shirt sleeves are hemmed incorrectly, but she has done whatever she needs to to make it right. Sometimes that is redoing the alteration, or sometimes she has bought a new Brooks Brothers shirt to replace the one that got ruined. I will keep going to Patti P for all my alternations. read more

Patti P's knocks it out of the park when it comes to alterations. Prior to my first visit, Patti had been recommended to me multiple times by friends, and her Yelp reviews were stellar, so I was expecting greatness. Thankfully, greatness is what I got! My first visit was about six months ago, and I needed to have a few pieces taken in, a dress shortened, and two pairs of pants hemmed. I needed the dress for an upcoming trip, and when I first dropped by to pick it up, it wasn't ready, but Patti made sure it was ready just a few hours later so that I could have it in time for my early morning departure the next day. Because of the confidence I felt in Patti's work following this first trip, I decided to take my rehearsal dinner dress to her to fix. I say fix because I bought it knowing it was ill-fitting, but I just loved it and couldn't pass it up. She was able to look at it on me and immediately know exactly what she needed to do to the top of the dress in order to make it fit my body. When I brought it home and tried it on after the alterations, I was thrilled with the result! I'm never one to chance anything, so I had a back-up dress on reserve just in case the alterations didn't go well, but Patti came through yet again and now I can wear my first choice dress. Patti did a great job on my wedding dress. I have been warned by several friends to always expect to pay way more than you think for alterations. The bill was steeper than I expected, but was worth every penny. The dress was perfect. My only complaint was the dress wasn't ready when it was supposed to be. Dropped off a homecoming dress for a simple strap adjustment. Went to pick it up two weeks later, the day before the dance, when it was supposed to be ready - not even started. Staff asked my daughter to come back in an hour to get it. She returns and they claim they lost one of the pin marks and can she come back in another hour. Ridiculous. We took it back and will do it ourselves. No apology. No offer of a discount. Worst service. Shame because they have done good work in the past on bigger jobs. But clearly they didn't value the small job and customer satisfaction. Will not be using them again. read more

I recently lost of weight, so I brought in a suit for some adjustment. The pants were nicely done, with the exception that the waist was still too large - I told them to err on the smaller side. The only adjustment to the jacket was to shorten the sleeves, that's where I feel very unhappy about the work. One of the sleeves was twist a little, and you could tell by the work that they didn't put enough attention to details: the brand of the suit is Moschino and if you are familiar with the brand, it's known that one of the sleeve buttons has that "peace" shape sewed with red thread; when I got it back, I found out that the button wasn't aligned in the right direction (it was in the right order though to their credit), and they used some very thick thread to sew that very button (regular thread for the rest buttons) which I have no idea why they did that as the red thread wasn't thick, the only difference was the color. Also, they couldn't put the decorative button openings back which they shared upfront. Again, I am not sure whether/why that's something they couldn't do - I feel it shouldn't be very complicated if they have the right equipment. I was lazy to bring it back, and since the Suit wasn't crazily expensive, so I didn't really bother to do it. I am not sure whether this only applies to one of the workers there or it's the theme. Overall, if you bring in something that's really expensive or you really care about, make sure you make it clear about your expectations (this was my first visit to the shop so I made the assumption that they would take care of that; and I went there for the awesome reviews); and check the work really closely to make sure everything looks the way you requested. read more
