I was in the area and looking for a late night dinner with Patty Shack being the closest bookmark that was open. I stopped in and ordered a double cheeseburger with fries to go. The burger was meh. Even though it looked like it had a lot of cheese on it, I thought the cheese was pretty flavorless. A disappointment for sure. The fries, however, were great. They were crunchy, battered, and had good flavor. They were easily better than the burger. If I stop back, I'd get those again with something else as the main item.

First time here. Ordered the single Bacon Cheeseburger and added raw onions and pickles. Tge burger patties are a 1/4 lb and the burgers include a side of "natural cut" (skin on, frozen) fries. You have a lot of options to add to your burger for free. My burger was cooked to well done. I wasn't asked how I want it cooked, so II assume all cooked well done. My burger wasn't juicy (partly because it was cooked well done), but it was good. There was a slight char flavor from the flat-top (I did not see grill marks on patty), and I could taste a little seasoning, even with the cheese and bacon. Fries were crisp and nicely seasoned. There were a couple of pinball machines, a racing video game, claw game to get candy, and a pull tabs machine.

I stopped here for new restaurant of the week to check them out because smash burger places are getting popular. The guy working the counter was super friendly with all the customers. The place is clean and nice looking. I ordered the single bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, pickles and raw onions that comes with frys for $13 ish. My food came quickly and I was off. The bacon cheeseburger looked good except for the bun which looked like a Chia pet. The frys were really good and cooked to order hot, seasoned well with a crispy shell and soft center. The bacon cheeseburger was pretty good with the fresh toppings. The hand formed beef patty had a nice fresh beef flavor I thought but not seasoned like the frys were ?. Overall it's a decent burger and frys place that I didn't see any shakes on the menu and I bet if they had good shakes on the menu they would be a great spot for a burger and a shake.

One of the guys I've been stopping here since they opened and needed to bump up the stars. Great burgers. Great breakfast sandwiches. Best fries. I've stopped in to order and have done online. Food is up fast or on time. Staff is always friendly and the place is super clean. What a great addition to the area.

Highlights 1) Great Burgers 2) Fast 3) Online Ordering Available We did Patty Shack take out recently and it was so great! We were able to very quickly order online and our food was estimated to be ready in about 20 minutes. Our food was ready when we arrived (right on time!). The burgers were great! I was able to order mine with a lettuce wrap instead of a bun which was awesome. Fries were good too. This is an awesome take out option!

Patty Shack has delicious burgers and a friendly atmosphere. I can rave about their juicy patties, especially the double bacon cheeseburger, which was packed with flavor and topped with crispy bacon. I added grilled onions and mushrooms, along with tomatoes and lettuce. The fries were crispy, salty and served hot. I absolutely loved my take out meal. Patty Shack is a great spot to satisfy your burger cravings. I'll definitely be back!

SERVICE: I came here on a rainy day after finishing a practice exam. I thought I should indulge myself with something a little unhealthy. I think I waited about 20 minutes for my burger. With this long wait, I was expecting my burger to be warmer than what it was. FOOD: Despite being lukewarm, the burger itself was very good. I got the double cheeseburger. The patties are well worth the money. I would say for a burger place that this is a little more on the expensive side. Double cheeseburger with fries and soda cost me $17.50 . AMBIANCE: Given the prolonged wait time, I now understand why the restaurant has a bunch of arcade games. I would highly recommend that if you come here, you should bring some quarters to pass the time. You will be in for a wait.

The burgers were good. Beer bartered fry's were average at best. Rude people and service is slow. Not the best crowd coming in and out.

**July 2025: Wednesday Lunch Visit**…read more While I was researching iconic food in Wisconsin I came across an item called Butter Burger which sounded so decadent and delicious. My friend and I were only exploring Milwaukee for a day so we wanted to make sure that we picked a good spot to try this region favorite. AJ Bombers came up consistently ranked on top for really great burgers. We came on a weekday so parking was pretty easy, but it is metered street parking. The restaurant is located at the corner of a large building and since we arrived right at opening we were seated right away. We ordered the following -Cheese Curds $9 - These were delicious. Nice and crispy, almost had an airfried texture to it so it tasted healthier than others that I've tried -Bomb Butter Burger $14 - The meat was very juicy and overall a good burger -Milwaukee Burger $12.50 - This was a fantastic burger and I think I preferred this to the Bomb Butter Burger. The flavors were more balanced IMHO -Tater Tots and Fries: The burgers all came with a side and I enjoyed both! They were freshly fried and served hot. The tots made me feel really nostalgic since those were things I remember eating growing up. The unfortunate news is that this restaurant despite all the accolades will be closing later in 2025. It's served Milwaukee for 16 years and while I'm bummed that they'll be closing their doors later this year I'm glad that I got enjoy one of Milwaukee's best. If you get a chance to check them out their decor also has a lot of personality.

I haven't been in years, but it was sad to see that they don't give out peanut like they used to and they were not all over the floor. There was a singular waitress there but she was nice and checked in on us. I ordered the Milwaukee Burger. I loved the onions on it and added tomato to it. I thought the burger itself was ok. Not too much flavor, I wish it was a little more pink. It would've been better if the bun was more toasted as well. I ordered onion rings, fried pickles, and cheese curds. Cheese curds and onion rings were really good, but the frickles were huge and every time I would take a bite the pickle would come out of the batter and I would be stuck with the plain batter alone. Overall loved the ambiance and I was miss Aj Bombers and its history.

For meals, I got the chicken Caesar salad wrap, with fries. It was good, creamy, and I had crispy chicken replace the grilled. The fries were good. While other restaurants in the district had hour and a half plus waits, we practically owned the place sitting wherever we liked. On event days they have a reduced menu. As they were slow, the kitchen gracefully allowed us to place a regular menu Crustless Grilled Cheese with Tomato Bisque order for our kiddo. I ordered the LP Burger with bacon ($14 + $2.5 - double smash, sharp american cheese, shredded lettuce, fresh tomato, shaved red onion, LP sauce, potato roll) and my wife ordered the Potato Chip Crusted Chicken Sammy ($12 - honey mop glaze, mayo, shredded lettuce and pickles). The bar has a fair amount of good bourbons and at decent prices for being in the deer district, such as the double neat pour of Stagg I had. There was one bartender/server for the place, but she knew how to hustle while still being super friendly. The interior could use some art on the walls, but is bright and clean otherwise. The food was delicious and presented very well. That bacon I paid extra for? Oh my goodness. Thick cut, perfectly cooked, so dang good. Usually I regret adding bacon but here it is a must. My 8-year-old kiddo, who is practically a vegetarian at this point, devoured her grilled cheese and half of the big bowl of soup. I never even saw my wife's chicken sammy, so you know it was good when it goes down that fast. Thankfully as our food arrived the place started to fill, as they deserve to be filled! I want to come back on a non-event day to try the shrimp poboy, their house dry rub wings, as well as on the weekend for their brunch.
