Sometimes, you just need a good burger! We spent the morning trying to figure out what we wanted for lunch and ultimately landed on Patty Shack. It reminded me of any regular little American joint, like a Sammie's or a Chicago Red Hots. Lots of burgers and sandwiches to choose from, but we were starving and chose the first thing we saw. I got the Maddie Melt, which I DIDNT EVEN KNOW there wasn't a patty in it until I was almost done with it. The flavors were so spot on, I really believed there wasn't a burger in it the whole time! It came with extra veggies, grilled onions, and mushrooms and was really good and is a good veg option if you don't eat meat. My bf got the pastrami burger which was just as good. Both came with fries and the patty sauce, which tasted like a mayo ketchup mix. Price was super reasonable and we left full and happy. Free parking. They also had a food truck in the front, so you can probably rent it for a party or find it in the wild! They had arcade games and crane games so I can see someone having a good time there. I was in the area and looking for a late night dinner with Patty Shack being the closest bookmark that was open. I stopped in and ordered a double cheeseburger with fries to go. The burger was meh. Even though it looked like it had a lot of cheese on it, I thought the cheese was pretty flavorless. A disappointment for sure. The fries, however, were great. This place is a hidden gem, and well worth the find. What doesn't seem like much from the inside, this place has got it all in flavor. This is the perfect burger joint. All of their burgers have the tastiest flavor. You can pack it with all different types of toppings, including unique sauces. They also have extremely awesome brunch sandwiches. The service is pretty decent, if it's super busy with Uber eats orders, plan to wait a little bit. I wouldn't say it's overly staffed, but it's enough to create pure deliciousness. First time here. Ordered the single Bacon Cheeseburger and added raw onions and pickles. Tge burger patties are a 1/4 lb and the burgers include a side of "natural cut" (skin on, frozen) fries. You have a lot of options to add to your burger for free. My burger was cooked to well done. I wasn't asked how I want it cooked, so II assume all cooked well done. My burger wasn't juicy (partly because it was cooked well done), but it was good. There was a slight char flavor from the flat-top (I did not see grill marks on patty), and I could taste a little seasoning, even with the cheese and bacon. Fries were crisp and nicely seasoned. I stopped here for new restaurant of the week to check them out because smash burger places are getting popular. The guy working the counter was super friendly with all the customers. The place is clean and nice looking. I ordered the single bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, pickles and raw onions that comes with frys for $13 ish. My food came quickly and I was off. The bacon cheeseburger looked good except for the bun which looked like a Chia pet. The frys were really good and cooked to order hot, seasoned well with a crispy shell and soft center. The bacon cheeseburger was pretty good with the fresh toppings. The hand formed beef patty had a nice fresh beef flavor I thought but not seasoned like the frys were ?. I moved to Bay View very recently and fell in love! Today, that love grew bigger and stronger after I filled my belly at Patty Shack. Do I start with the burger? Probably should, considering. A single with fresh onion, fried onion, BBQ sauce, and bacon was all it took for me to know I won't need to find another burger joint. Since I prefer my beef cooked close to well-done, a smashburger is heaven-sent, and the Shack's was an exemplar. The bacon (perfection in quality, crispness, and quantity), double punch of onions, and piquant BBQ sauce were the chef's kiss on that perfect patty. I'll be thinking about that satisfying sandwich for days! The same can be said for the fries. Lordy, lordy, lordy, they were simply outstanding! Crispy crispy crispy, hot hot hot, I didn't leave behind so much as a grain of salt (which was applied with an experienced hand). I am glad this place just opened up this location because they were delicious. This little burger joint is clean and has enough space to eat your burger there or take it to go. We ate too fast to be able to take photos. The burgers were delicious and reasonably priced and the pastrami on top of the burger added so much flavor. A lot of toppings were included as well. The french fries were very crunchy so worth getting as well (most of their burgers come with fries). The service was quick and friendly and made for an overall fun lunch experience. I called back, and they got an owner on the phone who said they couldn't do anything day of to make it right. It's shocking to see a place unable to fix or refund their mistakes. hopefully they realize they need to have managers on the clock while open at some point.
