Date of visit: September 16, 2025 This was near some friends and they raved about the food--especially the breakfast items, which they serve all day. I should have listened to them because I went with more of a lunch/dinner type item and it wasn't made the way I asked for it. My husband also went lunch/dinner and also did not get what he asked for. Staff was frustrated and apologetic, but I didn't love the delay after a long day at work. Thankfully the second time was the charm and my bananas foster milkshake was quite good and definitely something I would recommend. A member of staff had their little one hanging around, and while I don't normally care about that, when they wandered outside and were playing a bit closer to the street than I was comfortable with, I knew it was time to go. The outdoor seating is directly on the sidewalk, so if that is not your jam, look to sit inside instead, though this did not bother me at all. North Ave Grill is decent. I really like the French Onion Soup. I've also had a few of the sandwiches which have all been good. But the French onion soup is my favorite. The portions are huge. I often can't finish my whole meal, especially since I get a cup of soup, sandwich, then fries with the sandwich. Service is friendly. If you can't tell, I recommend the soup. (The French onion soup is more savory than sweet, so if you prefer the sweeter ones, you may not feel the same that I do.) =) read more

I now have 254 (and counting) checkins at NAG, for good reason. You might ask "what are those reasons? What makes you come here at least once a week?" * The people - it starts at the top with ana owner Mike, because he hires only kind people, most of whom have been here for years. We're here enough that the delightful servers pretty much know what we're getting. They're all completely great & the #1 reason we come here because they treat us like family. * The food - I get the same thing every time (pretty much) and the consistency and deliciousness is ON POINT. The mister changes it up - sometimes a creative special, sometimes breakfast, sometimes a decadent Peppercorn Horsey burger. No matter what we get, it's delicious, well executed and served up fast! * The Space - this is one of the few places I feel good about dining in during These Unprecedented Times (god I hate that phrase almost as much as I hate 2020). Slide into the big oversized booths with high partitions and the Covid can't get you. I see the care that's taken with cleaning too so I trust that I'm as safe as I can be here. Mixed feelings after two visits. The first time I went to North Avenue Grill, I had the BBQ sandwich--really good and a generous portion. That visit left a great impression, so I came back again. On my second visit, I ordered the orange dreamsicle shake and the grilled chicken avocado sandwich. Unfortunately, both missed the mark. The shake was overwhelmingly orange, and the chicken and cheese in the sandwich just didn't taste quite right. To make matters worse, my friend found a hair embedded in her waffle with all the fixings. Understandably, she didn't eat the rest of her meal. On the bright side, the service was great, and the place had a lively, busy atmosphere. There's no parking lot, but if you go about a half block into the neighborhood, there's usually plenty of street parking. Still, I'm undecided about returning, mainly because of the hair and the underwhelming chicken sandwich. read more

It's a large menu with all the typical brunch options available - pancakes, waffles, skillets, French toast, etc. You can also get a wide range of lunch options, including cheese, curds, quesadillas, chicken sandwiches, burgers, salads and wraps. I hear the burgers are good but we always get the Buffalo chicken wrap - it's big and delicious. On this visit we also ordered pancakes (wonderful) as well as the Meat Lovers breakfast skillet (solid but not amazing). All in all a decent go to spot when you're not sure what to eat but want some good if not spectacular food. It's a popular spot on the weekends so be prepared to wait 30-60 mins for a table or booth. This is a great brunch place in Tosa! I enjoyed my egg white & cheese breakfast sammie enough, but the nitro cold brew was the best part of my meal by far. It's creamy and smooth, and you can choose what flavor you want (I went with caramel, but they had lavender and vanilla as well). First and foremost, I have been to this restaurant/diner before and for the most part I have been satisfied. Today wasn't one of those days, the good news first, my wife's Cobb Salad with chicken was huge, actually it was too big for the plate. She needed a platter to eat that salad, other than that the salad was pretty good. She really liked the fact that the chicken was not salty. Now to the bad, I ordered the Country Fried Steak with biscuits, American fries and 2 over easy eggs. I added fried onions to the American fries to jazz them up a bit. The Country Fried Steak was terrible, it tasted like liver. I finished it because I needed my gut filled, I was hungry. I would highly recommend replacing that meal with something else, maybe a breaded chicken breast. The rest is the meal was pretty good especially the eggs. read more

Seated 4 adults and 3 children within 10-15 minutes on a Saturday morning. One adult in a wheelchair was accommodated. Two adult orders of chicken and waffles, two orders of kids French toast, one power hash, order of garlic Parmesan chicken with fries. Additional sides of toast, eggs, bacon and sausage. Food was tasty, hot and delivered at the same time! Drinks included orange and cranberry juice, milk and Bloody Mary topped with white cheese curds, pickle spear, bacon and lemon and a Miller shorty chaser. Maple syrup accompanied meals. Chicken was moist and nicely breaded. Two large pieces resulted in a take home box. Kids ate everything and laughed at the syrup in what resembled a "sippy" cup. Even though restaurant was fully seated, noise level and ambiance was perfect for our group. read more

I had asked for a table outside which was open and hostess said sure you could be seated there once your party had arrived. There was five people in our party all arriving within ten minutes. As the fifth person arrived the hostess sat a couple at the table outside and when I asked why she did not reserve it for our party she said it was their policy. So sitting a party of two compared to a group five is good policy? She then stated another table would be ready soon and when we looked they were just eating their food. She was dismissive to my concerns and we left and took our party of five to another establishment that understands good customer service. read more

This review is based on my breakfast carry out experience. Pulled up and place was packed so that's already a good sign. Was greeted with a smile. Picked up my order and took it home. I ordered the chicken fried strand biscuits. It was huge and delicious. They literally had to put my eggs and potatoes on another box, which btw I didn't eat because the chicken fried steak was more than enough. It was well seasoned, crunchy and soft at the same time. I got my fiancée the meat livers skillet, which I didn't try but he said it was delicious and was literally asking to go back for dinner so I'm assume he loved it. Went for lunch on last Thursday and ordered the grill sandwich. Pretty much a turkey club with avocado. Outstanding!!!! Bacon was cooked perfectly for a sandwich. Most places overcook the bacon. Not here. When you bite into the sandwich the bacon breaks apart easily. Avocado is a great addition that you wouldn't think makes a difference but definitely does. Next morning came in for the avocado toast. Another winner. Avocado was fresh and the bread was actually roasted! 2 whole pieces of multi-grain smothered with avocado. Scrambled eggs on top and the hash browns covered half the plate and was great also. Fresh brewed ice tea was my drink and you can tell it was fresh. Dine in | Brunch | $20-30 I give the service 1 star, but not because of the waitress, but the hostess. My husband and I were meeting my son and his girlfriend. They ended up running a little late (10 min.) with all the construction and the fair going on. We walked in we asked for a table for 4, but the hostess said she couldn't seat us until everyone showed up. However, a half of dozen parties of 2 came in and were seated at exactly the same type of table we were going to be seated at. We asked again, five minutes later, we're both seniors, and my husband is handicapped. He especially was not comfortable on the bench. Nope, couldn't be seated we were told again. When our son and girlfriend got there, we were finally seated, right next to a couple at our left, and a man and his small child on the right (2 people, each table). Their tables were identical. The hostess was a teenager, if this is how you're telling these young kids working there to treat customers, it's very sad. Why would we lie about having 2 more people showing up? We spent over $81, plus the tip. The food was excellent , the waitress was fine , but after being treated like we weren't worthy to be seated because of some stupid policy, or a kid who doesn't get it, we probably won't be coming back. Had I said we were a party of two, we would have been seated right away at a table the same size. It's not like we would have taken the table for too long of time. I have frequented NAG a few times for brunch takeout during COVID lockdown and just wanted to comment on how great they're doing. They are open for limited in person seating (I'm just not comfortable with that) so I've opted for takeout. Even when their phone lines are backed up with orders, when I get through and place my food order they are always SO FAST with the orders, and I've never had anything but 100% accuracy. I was super hungry for a salad today so I decided to stop in and get one to go. I decided to get the NAG Cobb salad and I added the Ahi Tuna steak medium rare. Can I just say this salad hit the spot!!! One of the best I've had in a looooooooong time. Staff was friendly. Everyone was wearing masks and there was a hand sanitizer station right at the door. IF I COULD PUT 0 I would. SAMATHA MOORE is her name. My friends and I visited the restaurant with high hopes of enjoying a pleasant dining experience, but what we encountered was far from acceptable. First and foremost, I must address the issue of racial profiling that occurred during our visit. My friends and I were subjected to discriminatory treatment based on our race, which is completely unacceptable and goes against the values of equality and respect. This behavior not only tarnishes the reputation of the establishment but also deeply hurts and offends my friends and I. The quality of the food I received did not meet my expectations. I kindly requested a exchange or a discount on my meal due to the dissatisfaction with the food, but the response I received from your waiter, SAMANTHA MOORE, was utterly disrespectful and unprofessional. Instead of addressing my concerns with empathy and understanding, Ms. Moore was rude, raised her voice, and even threaten to involve the police. This left me feeling intimidated and fearful considering the unjust treatment that many individuals face within the justice system. The police was called and the police then explained that SAMANTHA MOORE said people of color come into the restaurant and tries to dine and dash.
