I highly recommend patty's pet grooming! Since moving out to California I've had a hard time finding a groomer that does cats and was accepting new clients. I have a 10 year old Maine Coon and now that she's older, she gets what I call "dread locks" (matted fur) and doesn't clean herself as well as she used to. Seeing a groomer is a necessity for her! I saw someone else's review with a picture of their fluffy cat with a lion cut and it looked so nice. I called thinking I'd take the soonest appointment even if it was weeks out. She was able to get me in that morning! (Just after new year's so I'm sure people are out of town or being budget conscious) She got a shampoo, cut, and nail trim. My cat looks so good and is so much more comfortable. She hates being in the carrier but purred the whole 20 minutes home! Patty was extremely friendly and great with my cat. I've had great experience so far. She did a great job shaving my matted long haired fat cat, and she squeezed me in to trim and grind my dog's nails. I don't always expect them to be able to squeeze me in, but I'm happy they have done so. The location is convenient for me, they are very nice people, professional, and it's obvious they know what they're doing. Reasonable prices, too! I'll continue taking my pets here while I'm living in the Concord area. read more

My Persian cat has just been RELEASED from the Vet after getting groomed here last week! She has 3rd Degree CLIPPER BURN all down her back, as well as 4th DEGREE BURNS down the backs of her legs! She also knicked my cats back leg which cut through her TENDON & BONE was exposed! She had to be given a 2week antibiotic shot as well as 6 stitches on her back leg & treatment for her burns! What happened to my cat was TORTURE! I'd NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE EVER!!!!!! PROFESSIONAL GROOMERS SHOULD KNOW CLIPPERS GET HOT!!!! read more

I'm very pregnant and the last two months have been very hard for me to even bend over. My husband found her online and since then she's done all of my high maintenance pets... our newest to the family was a rag doll kitty (he was a mess), she cleaned him up so I could get thru this pregnancy and she's our savior ever since. She loves animals, is personable and can usually get ya in if you call a few days in advance. There's nothing worse than having to watch a pet you love run around with knots. Best pet parlor I've found for my two Persian cats (who always need a lion trim). I used to go to "cats-a-groomin" in Walnut Creek until they closed down. The owner her at Patty's Pet Parlor was so nice that the first time I brought in my cats one of them had a nail that was causing it to him to bleed and be in pain and she removed it no problem after the groom and now he's all better (she did it through kindness and didn't charge me). I've been taking my animals to Patty since 1991 when the original owner (Martha's Supergroom) was still there. If you're looking for a high end fancy boutique that can handle your every last second whim then you'd best head over to Walnut Creek where they charge you accordingly. Currently I have two shorkies that get groomed monthly, If I call ahead and am on time Patty is perfection. If I drop in or have to change plans on a busy day she does get a bit flustered, but my pups still get a good cut from her. She also did a great job for the pets of my friends and relatives. Need a good job done at a fair price and you can call a few days in advance then this is your place! read more

So I wanted to update my review since taking my doggies to Patty last Friday to get groomed. As always the dogs came out looking beautiful and the price was very reasonable. I asked Patty about what happened with Geoffrey E.'s yorkie and she told me that she felt bad because the dog was moving around alot when she was trying to clip him. She realized that she wasn't able to complete the cut and told Geoffrey E. the situation and then proceeded to give Geoffrey's money back for the grooming since she knew it the cut wasn't complete. She also mentioned that Geoffrey came in before he was called and told that the dog was ready so he in fact was early to pick-up his dog. I have no problem with unfavorable reviews however when important information is omitted and the review is inaccurate it really bothers me. read more

Patty has been grooming my dog for the past 6 years and prior to that groomed another dog we had for 6 years. I have never had a complaint with her work and continually receive compliments regarding his cut. He is a golden retriever. I bring him to her every 2 weeks and on many occasions without an appointment. Patty is great lady and I would refer her to anyone. read more

I was worried about dropping my 15 year old cat off as she has never been to a groomer before. She had stopped cleaning herself and will no longer allow me to brush her. Patty is not customer oriented. There were times I thought my dog was sedated when I picked up. He was not happy being there. Patty gave the impression that she didn't want to groom my dog. I'm new to this site, and found these reviews cycling through. We took our terrier mix to Patty couple of years ago, for just a regular groom and bath. Poor boy came out looking like he'd been in a fight. This woman butchered him, he had patches of fur gouged out of him, in areas not readily noticeably like his chest and tummy. He's the sweetest dog a person could have, so just sat there and took it from this person who calls herself a groomer. We didn't notice until we got home and he was fussing at these areas. My husband had to restrain me from going back there to give her a piece of my mind. We had far better treatment going to Petsmart. read more

In response to Erika, As a matter of FACT you were not told the whole story from Patty. Patty asked me to pick up my dog at 1:00, I showed up at 1:15, my dog was not bathed or cut at that time. I dropped my dog of at 9 am. She rushed through the grooming process. No fact's were omitted other than Patty not telling the truth. And I was really trying to be nice in my review that I wrote. Truth be told.....the place is filthy and Patty is rude, unprofessional, and lacks customer service skills. It is very plausible that my dog did move around alot, only out of fear and desperation to get away from Patty. Patty did not offer to give me the money back, I demanded it. I will gladly pay for services rendered, and tip accordingly, but I will not allow horrible service to be rewarded. I take him to All Breed Grooming, never have had a problem here. My dog is booked for appointments through 2011, goes to Hopes Doggie Day care as well. I love this place.....Erika try them out, you may realize what you have been missing. read more

My shih tzu Lulu HAS NOT been herself since I picked her up from Patty on Thursday. I don't know what Patty did to my dog. I'm tempted to call Monday morning and ask her what went on during my dogs grooming. I know Petsmart is a huge chain and people are more comfortable with smaller grooming salons but i've NEVER experienced my dog act this way when I would take her to Petsmart. This bothers me and I will not take my dog to Patty again. read more

Patty did not have my dog back to me when she said she would, and in fact had not even called me an hour after our agreed pick up time. When I called to check on my dog, a sensitive mini-poodle mix we'd recently adopted from a nearby shelter, Patty yelled at me over the phone. She was very rude! She then told me she hadn't even started on my dog and told me to come get him in two hours (three hours after the agreed upon time). I should have just gone and picked up my dog right then and there, but he'd already spent three and a half hours there, and it seemed a shame to make him do it all over again with someone else the next day. He really needed groomed. I decided to let Patty groom him, but when I got there to get him, my dog was only sort of groomed. There were tufts of long hair poking out here and there, and he wasn't near as short as I had asked her to cut him. And, as soon as he could get to a nearby tree outside of the shop, he peed like a race horse. He'd been there for more than five hours without a bathroom break! read more

Patty's is a little tucked away shop that looks pretty basic, but they do a great job with pet grooming. I have two persian cats - who I do maintenance grooming on at home - but I like to take them in for baths, belly trims and blow outs - a lot of pet groomers don't want to deal with cats - but Patty's has welcomed my cats every time - friendly, professional, reasonable pricing and very very good with animals. read more

After hearing and reading all the great reviews I was very disappointed. Patty was unfriendly to the point of rudeness and and appeared very frustrated at what was a minor miscommunication. She was also uneducated about my dog's breed. Although she seemed to handle my pup with care when I was present, he came home with a small scrape where Patty apparently trimmed to close to the skin. He's been fussing at it for 3 days now. (I understand these things happen but the groomer must tell the owner about any mishap!) He's also been rather subdued and just "not himself" since being here. Our dog Buddy is blind and partially deaf and so my partner and I are really protective of him. Our vet recommended Patty's Pet Parlor and we have been extremely happy with their services. Patty is mindful of Buddy's blindness and deafness and is really patient with him. We get the traditional Cocker cut for our Buddy and he always looks great when she's done!
