We went this afternoon. The waitress was friendly but definitely scattered. The restaurant was very clean. After sitting and watching the tables that came in after us get their food first, she started giving out tickets, and went to hand us ours, but looked at us and realized she never put our order in. Then after we FINALLY got our food, she never brought my salad. The hush puppies were raw inside, Cole slaw was hot. The fish was good, and he onion rings, were bad, daughter's hamburger was burnt and the toast it was on, was burnt. This is our first time here and it was very good. We came on Sunday for the lunch Buffett and it was just right. It had a nice variety of very good homemade salads and desserts. The main courses offered were meatloaf, fried chicken and baked pork chops and they were all delicious. They had a nice selection of sides, cornbread and dinner rolls. Not that this isn't place needs another great review. But here it goes. From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed. Even if you are not from here like us. The place is perfect country ambiance. We got the rib eye steak sandwich and the patty melt. Both were cool perfect and the service was great. If you live here I'm sure you already know of this great place. Right ... so ... just had their burger. It's horrible. No flavor ... well, there is some kind of a flavor, but it's not good and it is unidentifiable. I ate it because I was ravenous. Hadn't eaten since breakfast. Ordered their vegetable medley which is steamed veggies. Over-steamed. Veggies were droopy and they added an over-peppered, oversalted and is still burning my tongue. They use this "seasoning" to do what? Fresh steamed veggies are supposed to have a wonderful flavor without having to add anything to it. Horrible. My child hated her chicken tenders and asked if we could leave and find something else for her to eat down the road as we continue our travels. Coffee was watered down. Service was quick though. While paying out, the clerk asked how everything was. I told him and stated my daughter did not eat anything after the first bite because the chicken was soggy/spongy. He did not respond but took my card to pay. When I asked what the "seasoning" was in the vegetable medley, he gave me a list of the vegetables. I repeated I was wanting to know what the "seasoning" was. He asked a waitress walking by what was in the vegetable medley,she started listing the vegetables as well. I went to breakfast here. The staff here are super friendly. They don't have outdoor seating but directly next to the place there is an outdoor place owned by the same people that own the restaurant so if you have pets you can get a to go order and go sit out there with your dog like I did. When I walked in with my sister, her Caucasian husband, my bi-racial nephew and his Mexican girlfriend, you would have thought we walked into a Klan meeting in 1940. Both times there I ordered to go, and both times the lady running the register acted like she was shocked to see me and completely terrified. Tried Patty's while in town and cannot believe they are still in business. When we arrived we walked over to see what was offered in the sea food buffet, and would not feed that old, dry food to our pets. With the limited menu we ended up ordering 2 cheeseburgers and fries, how bad could it be? The Restaurant was less than a 1/4 full but everyone was sitting around with no food. Than we saw someone leave, they looked upset. After we waited for what seemed like a long time we too left. I had ordered an ice tea and, went up to the counter to let them know we were leaving and they responded "its only been 25 minutes". Then they proceeded to charge me $2.75 for my ice tea, no apology just a charge. Never again, beware of this spot and stay away. read more

We stopped here based on good chicken reviews and because we figured, "hey they can afford a billboard, they might be alright." ;P I ordered the fried chicken plate ($10, takes an extra 15 minutes to make), my husband had the meatloaf lunch special ($6) and I got a side of mac and cheese for our 3 year old. ($3). He eyeballed the pie case and chose a slice of chocolate chess which we took to go ($3). As soon as I ordered the fried chicken, Ashley, our waitress informed me that it's an extra 15 minutes longer as its made fresh. That wasn't a problem for me. She mentioned the lunch specials as meatloaf and dressing, my husband ordered this not realizing that "dressing" is chicken and gravy. Talk about true southern food! Thank God I grew up in the south and I was able to question his order and get it straightened out. The fried chicken plate is FOUR pieces of deliciously hot fried chicken (breast, large thigh, leg and wing), coleslaw and a choice of potato (I had mashed). The chicken and coleslaw were right up my alley. The coleslaw is the sweet style, similar to the three lettered fried chicken place, but I dare not compare them. The mashed potatoes weren't all that, but they were edible and I so I edded them. ;) My husband managed to part with a bite of his meatloaf. It was that ketchupy goodness of my childhood. The meat stuck together perfectly and was moist, but not so loose it was falling apart. It came with a side of green beans and mac and cheese and he chose the cornbread. For $6, good hot plate lunch. The side of mac and cheese was generous. I'm not sure if it's because Ashley knew it was for my son or if that's how it comes out, but the side dish had a hill on top of it. The chocolate chess pie was good, chocolate pudding taste on the inside, pie crust on the bottom. It's not my favorite in general, but tasted how my mom's does. Overall, worth the stop and worth not going to McD's. Service was good, even when we had to correct our mistake on the order (switching dressing to meat loaf). Bathrooms were clean and updated--the toilet had a wave your hand flush sensor and sink was contemporary. If drive out this way again, we would absolutely stop again. read more

Stopped here on my way back to Nashville from Memphis to grab a late lunch. What a nice surprise! It's right off the interstate, so a perfect place to grab a bite! Reasonably priced and you get a hefty serving of food. They have a buffet which looked good, but we decided to order off the menu. I got a cheeseburger with a baked, sweet potato on the side. The burger had a homemade patty and tasted great. I really liked the large choice of sides and I didn't have to pay extra to get the side I wanted! My friend got the fried, chicken livers. I tasted them and they were delicious. Her meal was $9.99 and came with a big helping of chicken livers, two sides and a salad! My cheeseburger and potato was around $7-$8. The atmosphere is cute and comfortable. Not fancy but it shouldn't be. It feels like you sat down at someone's kitchen table and that's perfect. The folks who work there were very attentive and the young guy who rang us up at the counter was great. He chatted us up about his journey to live off the land more. My friend had asked for a to-go cup and he forgot after we drifted off into our conversation, so she asked again and he said, "oh, well here I am thinking you were into my story and you just want your to-go cup." I was so looking forward to try this place based on all the positive Yelp reviews. The place was packed but we got seated right away. The inside was cute and the staff seemed nice. The wait for the food was extremely long and we only ordered a patty melt and a grilled chicken sandwich. We should have tried the buffet for $10.99 if we knew it would take that long. The patty melt was on Texas toast which I'm not complaining but the burger was small and tasteless and there was hardly any onions. It just tasted like a grilled cheese on Texas toast. My fries were cold and tasted like Ore Ida fries. Definitely not fresh cut fries. My wife's grilled chicken sandwich looked so sad and the bun was soggy. Yuck! She thinks the roll was frozen previously. I really really wanted to love this place. I hate giving bad reviews. Maybe next time we will try the buffet that seemed popular by the locals. read more

Went here to try it since they had parking big enough for my truck....ordered sweet tea and a steak with potato. The tea itself was awful (and they say southern tea is the best lol). THEN the brought the steak out, just from the way it looked I thought to myself "this should be interesting) and it was....ordered medium well and it was like chewing shoe leather. We were on our way home to South Arkansas from Northern Virginia. Since we prefer not to eat at chain restaurants, if we can help it, we arbitrarily picked Patty's. The fried chicken was very good as was the mayo cole slaw. Surprisingly they served instant mashed potatoes. They had a good looking buffet featuring fried chicken (was all gone) lasagna, and roast pork. Along with salads, breads and desserts. The chocolate cobbler looked pretty good. The service was good, restaurant was nice, restrooms are small but, clean. They sell cute T-shirt souvenirs for $14, we bought the one that says, "I ate wayyyy too much at Patty's Authentic Southern Eatery." Next time if we stop, we'll try the breakfast. read more

Having recently became a new resident of western Tennessee I am in search of restaurants that have a variety of food choices for myself and mostly men that I share residence with. Both of my roommates have lived in this area for 20+ years. Our time is precious as far as getting away from the house. We went there to Patty's for a sit down meal. We chose the buffet.
