This review is way overdue. That is not for my lack of enthusiasm regarding all the time and hard work Dr Crawford put into fixing my mouth. When I came in after two CoVid years of neglect the inevitable had occurred. I'd been warned back in the nineties that my periodontal problems were so advanced that my options were minimal. 20 years of painful deep root planing served only to delay the full removal of my teeth. Under the guidance of the extraordinary oral surgeon, Eric Wallace and the careful preparation of Paul Crawford I felt more confident than I could imagine. I am vain and I was horrified that I was losing my teeth. When I came out of the surgery that involved the full removal of my upper teeth, they were already prepared with my temporary semi permanent denture that was screwed into my jaw. I felt no need to take any painkiller other than over the counter Tylenol and ice packs. Swelling was minimal. I did take very careful and scrupulous care post surgery and that really paid off. The rest of the process with Dr Crawford was gratifying. I had my semi permanent dentures for about six months and the permanent ones I have had in since 5 months now. In truth, I am still getting used to them and my elocution has finally gotten back to normal. None of the process was ever painful or humiliating. The most painful part for me was berating myself for not having taken better care of my teeth for the decades that I lived overseas. In the end that is water under the bridge. Now I heave a decent smile that Im not fully used to yet and a healthy mouth that is not sending dangerous bacteria into my blood. Ive known far too many people who have had heart problems due their unhealthy mouths. I can not recommend Dr Crawford Highly Enough. He is also a very nice and interesting guy. read more

I postponed my dental work for several years, and now I wish I had gone ahead and done it much sooner. I wouldn't have trusted any other dentist in town with this procedure - I now have six veneers, a whole new smile, and the results look/feel amazing! Dr. Crawford is very thorough (a perfectionist, really - which I absolutely appreciate). He took the time to explain his findings, offer several different options, and gave his advice on the best plan (several times and even taking the time to meet with my husband as well, to bring him up to speed). His office is warm and comforting (I would definitely know - after spending several sessions totaling over 8 hours in his chair recently). A recent implant that was very complicated was handled with complete professionalism as the tooth was fused to my lower jaw and required some creative solutions between Dr. Crawford and the periodontist. Dr. Crawford is a very skilled dentist that does beautiful work. He treats his patients with a great deal of respect. It is a very low stress environment, which eases much of the anxiety associated with a dental visit. Sloane is a very attentive and responsive office manager that is willing to work around your schedule. All of the dental assistants are very skilled, and always make sure your dental work is done in the most comfortable, pain-free manner possible. But the most important thing about Dr. Crawford's office is that the work is top class. I LOVE going to Dr. Crawford's office. Like most people, I was never the biggest fan of going to the dentist office. However, now that I go to Crawford's office I feel comfortable, welcome, and even look forward to seeing everyone there. While you are getting your teeth cleaned, they make you feel as comfortable as possible that you start to forget you are getting your teeth cleaned. I recently had to get work done on my back molar....not a pleasant task, but Crawford made sure I was in no pain the whole time and that I was taken care of. Is there an option for 0? TLDR; Horse teeth, ill fitting bite, and lots of tooth pain now. *root canal in future* Where do I begin? Dr. Paul Crawford came highly recommended by local doctors in the area. But my experience has been far from stellar. How we treat people when things go wrong is the true judge of character and a medical practice. If I could go back in time and start over with another doctor, I would. But alas whats done is done and I'm stuck here writing this review. First when I consulted with the doctor, I mentioned I was concerned about some of the photos he showed me of other patients where the upper veneers covered too much of the lower teeth in any given smile. giving you a funny "horse teeth" look. He assured me every time that would not be the case and i would have lots of input on the final veneers. I was ok with this response. (big mistake) when he started prepping the teeth with the temps. he did an EXCELLENT job. everything looked great. temps were perfect. I was happy and all was right with the world. 2-3 weeks go by doctor mentions he'll have me go take a look at the final veneers at the lab to make sure I'm happy with the results. This is where everything starts to go down hill. He made a bunch of changes to the teeth ( note the upper teeth covering most of the lower teeth for that distinctive horse look ) he then assures me he can make adjustments to them AFTER they were installed. ( I wasn't aware at the time but its very difficult to make THAT many changes to the final veneers. but this is standard practice for him.) I even pointed out at the time of install ( where he didn't deliver on any of his promises of letting me see the finals before install. ) that some of the veneers had a VERY bulbous look to them. and had odd dents. which he agreed were odd. and proceeded to assure me that they were normal and he could polish AKA grind out in his lab ( you'll see why this was detrimental to my case later.) I have distinct feeling now that he wanted to just rush my case through and let bad lab decisions fly by. which is not something you want in a doctor. Problem two was the veneers started chipping almost immediately. which he then started blaming on me immediately. yet I wear a night guard religiously. after consulting with a famous cosmetic dentist in Los Angeles they mentioned, that it was possible that the veneers were suffering from micro cracks in the ceramic because of all the "changes" he made via the drilling tools. Dr. Crawford always denies this is an issue. but it always happened after he made "adjustments" And other doctors have mentioned it is an issue as well. Even the lab who made these teeth have said it isn't a good idea to shave the veneers after a certain point ( which we were well past) He continues to give me weird answers that the teeth are nearly indestructible yet they keep chipping. But to keep a VERY long story short. Dr Crawford is a doctor I would not recommend unless you are willing to live with sub par work. teeth you never signed off on. and someone who's going to make changes to your smile without your approval and then shirk responsibilities for sub par work after the fact. I found his practices dishonest and I feel betrayed by my own lack of research on his promises. The other problem was I've been having tooth pain ever since he installed the veneers in my mouth. and always brushed me off every time I complained about it. I asked some other cosmetic surgeons as well and they mentioned it could be a problem with how much tooth surface he removed and how my nerves in my teeth are too close to the surface now. Which he has categorically denied. He even ended up in the end referring me to one of his endodontist friends who called my problem " Occlusal trauma ". which again goes to point 1. he choose to install ill fitting teeth. btw for those of you who don't know what this means here's googles definition: "Occlusal trauma is a dental term that refers to the damage incurred when teeth are left in traumatic occlusion without proper treatment." Now I am cursed with constant pain and the need for a root canal down the road. I've been trying to work with him for the last 6 months to address my concerns but I feel like i was always brushed off. just like during the consult phase where he promised I'd be able to make any changes necessary before we went to final molds. he ended up installing teeth that were just not balanced for my face. and I will end up having to do this procedure all over again to get a pain free and balanced smile again. This has been a harrowing experience for me. And I wish I had gone with the famous doctors in Los Angeles as he is not any cheaper than the celebrity dentists there. * and even slightly more expensive than them in the end*. Sloan was very kind and accomodating, getting me in that day. I had a major abscess and needed 2 root canal's! He referred me to Dr. Sturm for the root canal's, then back to Dr. Crawford for the remainder of the procedure, including two new crowns. I came to Dr. Crawfords office because he accepted my employers dental insurance. Before I came in for my first appointment Sloane requested I give her my previous dentist's contact information so they could retrieve my old records and x-rays - I gave this information to her as well as my insurance information for verification. When I came in for my appointment I was told my insurance would cover full X-rays, cleaning and a portion of a filling and chipped tooth. I went ahead with the X-rays knowing that Sloane had my prior dentist's contact information and would have requested the X-rays if they were already taken. A few weeks after having this done I received a bill for the X-rays. I contacted Dr. Crawfords office and was told that it turned out that X-rays had already been taken at my previous dentists office and as it turned out insurance wouldn't cover them again. I trusted Dr. Crawfords office to do what they said they would and contact my old dentist prior to taking another set of X-rays - they did not get in contact with them. I understand this is a minor misstep yet I would have expected them to accept that it was their mistake and practice good business by not charging me for the X-rays. read more

I came to Dr. Crawford after consulting several different dentists about the issues I was having with my mouth. I couldn't chew food in certain areas of my mouth without being very sensitive, I lost confidence in my smile due to missing teeth, and my mouth was affecting my stomach and my diet on a daily basis. All of the input I received from the other dentists seemed very hopeless, and none of them said they would be able to help me. When I called and spoke to Dr. Crawford about my issues I was having, he listened, scheduled a meeting to assess my mouth, and followed up with some options. He was the only one out of four other dentists I had approached for help that actually did offer his services. When Dr. Crawford decided on a plan of attack, ,he explained every step in detail and the timing it would take to heal.
