My partner and I were looking for a dentist in the Santa Barbara/Goleta area and came across Dentistry in Paradise with Dr. Miller on Yelp. My partner is always my guinea pig since he's a lot more tolerable and stoic than I am when it comes to the dentist. I receive a lot of compliments for my "white" teeth and a ​big smile, and that is enough pressure to continue taking good care of my teeth--and to suck it up every 6 months to go in for a cleaning. I have since been a patient of Dr. Miller for a year (two visits total). The office is modern and pleasant in appearance with complimentary tea and juice when you walk in. Note: It can be a bit tricky to find since it is in the offices off Patterson Street between the post office and freeway. You turn on Debby Street as if you're going to the Patterson Place apartments, but continue straight and slightly​ right at the fork in the road to the offices. It's the first building on the left and one of the last offices on the right (ground floor). The staff is extremely welcoming and accommodating​. For example, when my insurance was switching over to a new plan, they were able to fit me in last minute. Both of the dental hygienists who cleaned my teeth were absolutely interested in my health and comfort. I am always sure to make them aware that I have some gum recession and sensitive spots. They use some numbing creams and sprays to make the cleaning as comfortable as possible. Shout-out to Nancy and Connie for being so kind and skilled at their jobs! Dr. Miller is so chill and friendly. He meets with you at the end of the cleaning to go over any findings or congratulate you on taking great care of your teeth. They always remind me of​ how to properly​ floss and tell me about ways to better take care of my teeth and maintain a healthy mouth. I think they go above and beyond in providing teaching points. Everyone I encountered at Dentistry in Paradise deserves a 5 star review. Theresa the receptionist was very patient and accomodating when scheduling the appointment and answering questions about my first visit. Maggie the xray technician was very gentle and fast which is exactly what you want when getting x rays. Dr.Miller was excellent at explaining dental issues in a way that was easy to understand. He came across as laid back, kind and very knowledgable. Connie the hygenist also did an excellent job. She was very nice and gentle while cleaning my teeth. She also has a great sense of humor and I enjoyed talking to her. (Granted my contributions were a bit garbled.) I was very nervous about having to find a new dentist after moving to Santa Barbara and I put it off for a long time. This dental procrastination on my part was truly unnecessary as Dentistry in Paradise is such a relaxing place that you almost forget that you are there to have stuff done that almost everyone puts off. The ambience is as great as the staff. I don't think I had ever listened to Bossa Nova and Spanish guitar in a lush tropical setting while getting dental work done before and I imagine it would be hard to replicate that experience anywhere other than Dentistry in Paradise. read more

Have been going to Dr. Miller for the better part of a decade now and I can't see myself going anywhere else. The staff is top notch and makes you feel at home the minute you walk in. They have all the Covid protocols in place, and are very deliberate in the number of people in the office at a time. Had a crown put on (that they made in the office), and was in an out of there in an hour. Totally painless. In and out in a flash, and no complaints. It's important to take care of your teeth, but if you run into a time you need someone to fix what's broken, Dentistry in Paradise is the place I'd go. read more

The worst experience of dentistry in my life. The lack of professionalism, bedside manner, and care was shocking. The aggressive sales tactics to sell me unnecessary cosmetic procedures was flat out uncomfortable and cringe worthy. I would avoid this practice at all costs. After asking for recommendations and doing some online research, I ended up scheduling an appointment with the team at Dentistry in Paradise. Five stars are not enough! I just had a crown done (made in the office) by Dr. Miller. After many negative experiences in this area, I was thrilled by the outcome. He is very knowledgable and efficient, with all the latest greatest technology. My crown fits perfectly. Most times in my crown experience, I have had to have root canals (and more grinding) after the fact. No so now! The entire office is truly amazing. I just want to say that in my 73 years on earth I have never had a better experience with a dental practice than I've had with Dr. Miller and his excellent staff. They are patient, kind, painless, and exceptionally proficient in their dental knowledge and work. I have only been in two times and this staff and doctor are amazing! I wanted to find a local dentist (as I moved from the Bay Area to here for school) and I was not disappointed. When first arriving, the office manager, Theresa, was sweet and very helpful! I had a bit of issues with my insurance but she was willing to help and the issue ended up being solved. My actual visits were awesome (which is weird to say for a dentist visit!) I went in for a cleaning and the dental hygienist, Connie, was nice and communicated step by step what was happening. It was as close to pain free as you can get! When I went in for my second visit I got pictures done with Dr. Miller and the dental assistant, Griselda. In the beginning of the visit Griselda asked me basic dentist questions and what my long term goal was for the look of my teeth. When meeting Dr. Miller, he took the time to get to know me by asking me where I went to school, my future plans, etc. - which I found more personable and cool! Both were sweet and also explained the process of everything, similar to my first experience. Always such a positive experience with Dr. Miller and the entire staff!! Cleanings are a breeze, just had two fillings the other day - no anesthesia and I didn't even feel a thing! I visited Dr. Miller and his crew for the first time today after reading all the great reviews. As a person who has anxiety visiting doctors and dentists, I found this place to be quite calming! Everyone was so nice, and explained to me exactly what was going on in my mouth without being preachy or condescending, which was incredibly refreshing after the way every other dentist I've ever been to has talked to me. The receptionist was also wonderful, and made all the necessary calls when my insurance company was difficult to navigate and getting me the best possible coverage! I am sincerely amazed by this practice. I have only been for a cleaning and exam but so far have had the best experience with a dentist thus far.
