While…read morein 2019, I had a horrible visit, as I previously wrote, back in 2022, maybe she was having a bad day. The most recent visit was good. She carefully listened to my wife and even had a brief positive, friendly conversation with me. Definitely not the same experience I had back in 2019. The medical system here in Tucson, appears to be overloaded. In retrospect, I would give Dr. Bastes another try. Since my 2019 visit she has changed offices, and her current office #215, has individuals that treat the patients in a nice manner. Her previous office down the hall, has a at least one terrible employee sitting at the receptionist area. When I visit her older office #225, there is one receptionist that I try to avoid, like the plague. As I already stated, the office staff at suite #215, is a breath of fresh air. I now try to avoid any doctor operating out of office #225. Just my opinion.

My appointment was for 8:30 am and he took me on time. He walked in, introduced himself, looked me in the eye when he spoke with me and was very professional. I have nothing but the highest regard for him. He took a few minutes to review my EKG's, ask questions, and determine my diagnosis. I have been having tachycardia attacks for over 25 years and never has a cardiologist been so exact in his analysis. He knew what I had and why I experience my heart symptoms. He drew a picture and explained in detail how my heart was operating. We discussed my options. They ranged from ablation to beta blockers to nothing at all. We agreed on what was best for me in my situation. I now had the information I needed to make an informed decision which was to try a beta blocker when I have an episode. I know that if I choose in the future to have ablation, that I now have a cardiologist whom I trust to do the procedure and do it right! When you go to a specialist, you should not choose the person by his office staff, or how friendly he or she is, or whether they see you on time. You should select the most knowledgeable, most proficient, the one you are confident knows what he is doing and can perform the procedure correctly. If you choose Dr. Peress, you will be in the hands of someone you can trust.

No one took vitals or height/weight which seemed odd. A lady then walked out to the waiting room and began to explain the details of the concierge service. Once I told her that I wasn't interested in the service, she said, "Then you're not a candidate for this. Let me get you a list of other doctors." WHY wasn't I informed of his being a concierge doctor WHEN I INITIALLY CALLED? I could have then looked for another doctor instead of WASTING 3 FULL BUSINESS DAYS as I waited for my appointment. THIS IS UNETHICAL! It was obvious that the purpose of my 6 July visit was not to meet with the doctor but, rather, to give me the sales pitch. While this may sound dramatic, I felt like I had fallen victim to the bait and switch timeshare scam at a high end resort. This is UNETHICAL, especially when you consider that I told the lady on the phone about my dizzy spells.

He's been so good to me and wonderful in helping make great decisions. He's counseled me on weight to blood pressure and made sure medical issues are all good and done. I so respect and appreciate Dr. Lowenstein for his wonderful medical knowledge, sober reminder of making good choices and basically his friendship. We've been known to share vacation locations and his knowledge of Alaska is fabulous. If you're looking for somebody to kiss your ass--keep looking. I made an appointment for an echo cardiogram months in advance. less than 24 hours before the appointment they called me to let me know my insurance only covered 18% of the cost.
