A nice break Paul has a café in the Lourve, and to one side is a drink and gelato cart. I was mainly interested in a drink so we stepped out of line and went to the cart. When my granddaughter saw they also had gelato, we got gelato. One of the rituals of our vacation to London and now Paris seems to be consuming gelato. I got a scoop of the chocolate in a cup, which looked kind of sad in the bottom of a too large cup. Tasted fine though, good chocolate flavor and I assume tiny pieces of chocolate to give it not quite the smooth texture you would associate with gelato. The setup was a little odd, you stand in a line and give your order for drinks and how many scoops you want, then get into a second line and tell the scooper what flavors you want. We weren't the only tourists who thought that was unusual, normally you give your complete order and get it without needing a second line. Maybe there was a temporary issue where the scooper couldn't keep up with the order taker / cashier. read more

Paul is a chain here and can be found on streets and at airports all around Paris. Did I find it to be good? Sort of. The bread wasn't to special and the chicken stuffed baguette was seething hot (Europeans like their food scalding it seems). But it wasn't too memorable. The part that was memorable was the B**** behind the counter who gave me attitude after asking if she speaks English, in french. I speak a little french but her coworker noticed and brushed her off and took over the order. I asked for a coffee and they gave me one and a bottle water. the coffee was very strong which is what I needed but it wasn't that tasty. Long historic popular bakery chain in Paris with many locations across the city so decided to give it a try. Ordered a Salami Baguette, Butter Croissant and Espresso. Baguette is chewy but kinda hard with not much meat toppings flavor. Croissant was nice but tried more fluffy and buttery ones in other local joints. Somewhat disappointed with it being a popular bakery. Perhaps location specific so hopefully other locations are better. read more

This was a fast, tasty snack shop inside the Louvre museum. I had a tomato mozzarella sandwich and a pistachio macaroon. The bread was not too hard and the pesto was tasty. The macaroon was sooooo good...I had initially planned to eat half and save half, but it was so tasty that I finished it all on the spot. :) Bonus tip: I could not find any water fountains in the Louvre for refilling my water bottle, but one of the employees stated that the water from any of the faucets is potable. read more

We walked by this kiosk location during our first day of being tourists, and man were we lucky!! This location is right next to the Louvre, and we thought it was a kiosk with water and simple food. The salami baguette sandwich was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! The baguette was very good, the sandwich we ordered had salami, cheese, and cornichons (little pickled cucumbers). We were hungry, and I kid you not I smiled the entire time I shared this sandwich with my wife, the taste was so amazing! They serve ham sandwiches and pastries, and they are probably just as good. A few days later we ordered more of the salami sandwiches at the Airport! If you are in Paris, keep an eye open for Paul and you'll be happy you did! read more

TLDR: maybe the best food I've had in a tourist attraction. _____ Stopped in for an afternoon snack as to not have to leave the museum. Blown away by the quality, taste and price of this chain bakery. Got a mozzarella and tomato sandwich with olive bread. Nice creamy chunks of mozzarella, fresh tomato and a nice pesto sauce. The olive bread was doughy and soft Apple tart - flaky pastry with slices of apple. Sweet, but not overly sweet. The edges had little spots of burnt sugar that gave it a nice crunch and delicious caramlized flavor Plus a water and coke and it was just €13! Really the Coke was probably the most expensive thing and we could have done without it. I'd expect way more expensive and less quality from a bakery in one of the biggest tourist destinations in the world. Pleasantly surprised. read more

Museum food tends to be bad, but apparently that's not the case in Paris and especially in the Louvre! Paul is an excellent bakery snack stop for all Louvre visitors. With so much to see in the museum, your legs are bound to get tired and your stomach hungry even as your craving for fine arts remain relentless. Fear not though, because Paul got some excellent freshly-baked pastries to refuel your physical self! Despite being in one of the world's top museums, the inside bakery is not overpriced with each pastry costing nearly the price as other bakeries in the city. The best part is that the baked goods are delicious and definitely worth it! Re-entry is allowed in the Louvre, but the security can be a hassle to go through again if there is a huge crowd so getting a lunch break outside can be a chore. Therefore, if if there is already an affordable delicious food solution inside the museum, why not? read more

Three hours of walking around the Louvre and next thing you know you are hungry and wishing you had gotten a bite to eat at one of the museum cafes. Lo and behold, as you are walking through the Tuileries, there is a cafe cart with baguettes galore. You opt for the ham and cheese with butter and are instantly satiated, happy, and ready for several more hours of hoofing it around Paris.
