We bought Hunter Douglas motorized blinds for our kitchen. They did not work out as we had changed the style to billowy in the kitchen, where we should have stayed with the flat style. Our expensive cotton print blinds were what worked. Fortuitously, Larry saved them for us as he took them away, after a frantic call, and it was Steve who was able to restring them, with a stronger thinner string, but for an amazing glide opeing and closing. Sherry is extremely knowledgeable about color and design and helped me to choose a beautiful Hunter Douglas Cellular Shade for one of my windows. I originally wanted a darker shade, but Sherry suggested that a lighter color would still provide privacy while allowing more light to filter in. She was so right! For the dining room I ordered custom draperies and again Sherry patiently helped me to choose the fabric and also suggested ordering a rod to match the light fixture. Very pleasant experience working with the folks at Paul's Drapery! I just moved to Pacific Grove and needed to cover all the windows in the house, with a preference for shades. After doing some research on options in the area, I settled on Paul's and arranged to visit their shop. Sherry greeted us with real enthusiasm and walked us through several creative and interesting options. She talked through our aesthetic preferences and helped us make decisions for each room. Bryan in the back office was equally engaging and easy to work with and ultimately was the contact person as we waited for our multiple shades to come in. Larry came to the house to measure and was super focused and very detailed as he verified the specifics of the shades we wanted for each window. When he left, he informed us on the timeline for the order and manufacture of our custom shades. The items arrived within the anticipated timeframe and Bryan was quick to let us know and offer some options for the install. Larry and his installation team were on time, super professional, very engaged, and very respectful of their time in the house (since they had to be in every room of the house). Purchase process could not have been easier--Larry came to my home, advised me on best options given my needs, expertly measured my 13 windows and returned to install the perfectly-fitting shades. The replacement of old, ratty mini-blinds with the beautiful Hunter Douglas shades has transformed the look of every room. And as part of the installation process, Larry also removed and took away the old blinds. In addition, Larry himself is a delight to work with--efficient, knowledgeable, accommodating, cheerful and very, very funny. The shades were a very big, expensive purchase for me since I have so many windows (including two French doors), but I'm very happy I did it. I originally purchased some blinds from Home Depot several years ago. They broke after a couple of years of use but were still under warranty. Trying to get them fixed by the manufacturer thru Home Depot was an absolute nightmare. The salespeople at Home Depot did not seem to know what to do to help me get my blinds fixed under the warranty. So...I emailed my frustration to the manufacturer and they instructed me to take my blinds to Paul's Drapery Installation in Pacific Grove and that they would help me. I was greeted by the owner Sherry Sands as soon as I walked in the door. She took my blinds. I gave her my name and phone number and one week later the blinds were repaired. What an easy great experience that was. It is now several years later and I had to have another repair job done. I called Paul's Drapery and Sherry instructed me to bring the item in. One week later, the repair is done. Another great experience! I must say that Sherry made me feel like a valued customer even though she hasn't really gotten much money out of me. From a blind that was set off balance to needing this little tabs at the end of the blind cord replaced, it is taken care of efficiently and they are really very nice.
