I was lucky enough to be taking here for Dinner by my cousin. It was the perfect start to a European vacation. As this place gets the high honor of my first introduction into Beer. Ended up trying their Oktoberfest Marzen - which was a lighter Beer - it was everything you would expect from a German Beer. Very perfect in all it's qualities. Had some sort of Sausage, which was also really nice. What really stood out about this place was the atmosphere. Very calming - the outdoor dinning gave you a great view of the city. I visited this place twice. The first time i had the pig knuckle, potato dumplings, and cabbage salad. The pig knuckle was very good, i also looked the salad. The potato dumplings and gravy were OK, not Mt type of food. I would order this meal again though for the knuckle and salad. The second time i went, i had the Jaegerschnitzel with buttered noodles and requested the cabbage salad instead of the side salad (which i later found out had a cabbage salad in it). The schnitzel was good (but if i was craving schnitzel, i would go to Webers). The buttered noodles were OK, not much flavor was going on there. I had an apple strudel for dessert which was very good, just the right amount of sweetness. A couple of my friends ordered the "meatloaf" which is apparently different than the USA. Meatloaf here is more of a SPAM like dish. They weren't expecting this and weren't thrilled about their meal but said that they would come back to try other things off the menu. The deserts were a big hit with the friends too. This place is also very large, so seating shouldn't be a problem. Many places get packed and can't accommodate last minute people. I don't see this place having that issue on most days given the size of this place. I would definitely come back to this place for the knuckle and to try other dishes in the menu. read more

The service here on a Saturday night was uninspired but respectful. We came early without a reservation and was seated immediately which was good, when we left it was packed. The food at its best was also uninspired and bland, the beer was very good. We were recommended to come here by friends who said it was great so maybe we came on a bad night, haven't been back to compare. read more

This was the first German restaurant I got to dine at when I arrived in Germany and I still love it. The food is never a let down! If you're there at a busy time of night, then yes... You will have a bit of a wait for your food. However, out of all the times I have visited here, this only happened to me once. 3/4 visits you will receive happy, quick service. I love taking people here who haven't been yet. The banana weißen is my absolute favorite! For appetizers, I definitely recommend their pumpkins soup. It's not too filling, but the taste is rich. The spatzle wasn't my favorite, but the potatoes make up for that. Along with any of the schnitzels! read more

We arrived at around 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon, and the Paulaner restaurant in a Passage was empty save two tables----bad sign. We sat out in the Biergarten, which is located in the courtyard of the building. Although we were inside only briefly, it was typical Gemütlich Bayern (wooden tables, painted motifs on the wall). The Münchner Ur-Typ Helles was OK. It didn't seem as good as what I've had in Munich----maybe the beer wasn't as fresh, maybe it was in my head, not a big deal. The Obatzda was disappointing, as it didn't have the nice chunks of Camembert and the balance was a bit off. The Schnitzel was OK, again nothing special. The prices were reasonable and the server was friendly. Given the location and the ho-hum quality of the food, I wouldn't recommend the walk down Wilhelmstraße to go out of your way, but it might be nice for a beer and a break if you're already out that way. read more

Do not eat here if you're American - it legit took 30 minutes to receive drinks and waitresses would come out and serve others and ignore our group of five waiting and walk back inside. There are plenty of other places that will welcomingly take your money and treat high tipping Americans with some customer service...try Scotch and Soda. read more

The service was great and the wait staff was nice. But we were very disappointed with the food. In fact, this may keep us from trying German food anywhere in the country. The pork loin was very fatty and the meat loaf was...well, anything but what we expect meat loaf to be in the States. I will say that the white asparagus soup was good...but that was about it. We stopped here on a Friday afternoon before heading home after a day of sightseeing through the town. The place is HUGE, but today it was empty, and since the weather was fantastic, we sat outside. There was a bit of a language barrier initially, but we were polite and worked through it with the little bit of german our group knew, and the little bit of english our servers knew. This is what makes traveling fun....being friendly and overcoming challenges. The wait staff was awesome to us in my opinion, and our group had no issue with being waited on. Of course we had the house Paulener beer, which is awesome. They have a variety of items on the menu, and my group stuck with a variety of schnitzels, and one cordon bleu. The food was fantastic. Personally, I had the Paulaner Schnitzel, with mushroom sauce and and egg, yes, and egg on top. It was delicious. The fried potatoes were the icing on the cake.....delish!! I'm very glad we stopped here. While this is probably a franchise, it certainly didn't have the franchise feel, and I highly recommend it. Just be friendly and you'll be ok!! read more

The selection is excellent. In my party of four, everyone got their food at the same time and enjoyed it. I went for more traditional German. Not heavy on sauce, there was good taste though I admit adding a little bit of black pepper to my pork. The service was nice and friendly. She easily divided the check into four with no fuss. Lunch here is quick and inexpensive for Wiesbaden. The waitress was so friendly and fast. The best German I've had in Wiesbaden yet.

As has been said, service can be slow. I liked the food I got (schnitzel with fried egg on top). I will go again.

Dreadful service. I know I can't expect the same quality of service over there, since they don't work for tips. But when the waiter kicks a chair into your knee and just walks away unapologetically, that screams - rude! Mediocre overpriced food too! read more

Popular spot for my friends and me. Solid food choices - everything I've tried here is good. The beer = good. Fun place that's easy to get to. Parking is convenient at the Casino. The wait staff is very accommodating. We always end up staying here longer than we planned - because we are always having a good time and don't want to leave :) read more
