Each customer is assigned to a groomer, so they get to know your pet. Baxter's first groomer graduated and he was assigned a new groomer. She's sweet and gentle with Baxter. She told me that she had trouble clipping his nails because he didn't want to let her do it. Someone else showed her how. His nails looked great. I love having trainers working with the groomers. The last place I took his gave him several nicks so I had to find a place I could trust. They have notes on him that he has skin tags and to be very careful. He's never gotten a nick or a skin tag cut at Muddy Paws.

She took me to the back where all the baths are, showed me how everything works, that they provided the shampoo, conditioner, and a facial ( blueberry, the dogs can eat it! Haha). She drop off a towel & wash cloth for me. The tub is a little high for me because I'm short, but I managed okay. They provide the aprons, so you don't get a bath too. My Hogan did well, with me giving me a bath. Though sometimes he didn't like the blow dryer, it was my first time too. I really like this place. It's easy to get to, not far from where I live, right off the I44 Highway exit. It's clean, they check on you, how your doing. They have plenty of baths, for walked in. It's only $20 to do it yourself, they do provide other services, if you don't want to do it yourself. The people are friendly and helpful. I will be coming back, my Hogan looks and smells great! I walked in at 5:11 this evening hoping to wash my dog. The employee made eye contact with me immediately from the back room. I stood at the counter waiting for 5 minutes. This wasn't a problem for me until the employee told me that I was too late for a wash. That they stop taking self wash customers at 5:15. It was 5:16 by their clock on the wall. The employee stood in the back until it was after time and turned me away. I was very unsatisfied and very surprised by the poor 'customer service'. There are multiple self serve dog wash businesses in the area. I will start using one of the businesses that I typically pass on the way to SDW.

I find the prices fair and Stevie always comes home smelling great and silky soft!! I also love that Jamie and Tina donate their time to local animal rescues whenever they can, and even had an angel tree this Christmas season for one. Jamie specializes in grooming dogs who wouldn't do well in "traditional" salons, and does a great job with all of them. Doodles, corgis, aussies, Pyrs, they all get amazing care. They aren't just any kind of boarding place that just wants to take your money, they actually care for your dog and play with your dog! This place is a little bit off the beaten path and a little out of the way, but for our dog to enjoy going there and to be happy when she comes home speaks volumes and I would drive farther if I had to.... The last time we had her there they ended up giving her a bath because she got all muddy and they didn't want her to smell and look dirty on her way home no charge. Thumbs up and happy camper here!
