Our serviceman KHO was polite, knowledgeable with both our Thermador stove and our Bosch dishwasher. Had tech come out to look at our ice maker not working on Subzero fridge. the ice maker was full of ice and stuck.. tech said well have to buy new ice maker and order it.. after couple of weeks I took ice maker out of the fredge and took it outside till ice melted, put it back inside and it works perfectly... in a month-2 month later I hear from Pauls certified appliance, we have the part, I've said we no longer need it, there was nothing wrong with old one, all it needed to be defrosted... they said ok no problem, we'll cancel the part.. no apology for misdiagnosing or anything.. paid for them to come out was waist of money.. what a joke, and they are certified tech for sub zero... Serivce call placed to diagnose a kitchen stove at a rental property. Issue was that stove top was randomly changing temperatures (i.e. high to low, vice versa) when fixed at a certain setting. Cost was $85 to get someone out there. Tech (Edwin) diagnosis was a faulty switch and recommended against repair as costs would be around 60-70% if I were to purchase a new stove. Stove was more than 14 years old so I guess it served its purpose. I was even recommended to a budget appliance center (older new models/open box) if I didn't have enough for a new one. *long story, short* From this one experience alone, I believe that these are the people you should call if you're having appliance problems. Thank you for being such a respectful, friendly, professional person Seth! :) *long story* During this COVID-19 Fresno lockdown, our fridge decided to leak (not drip, literally a steady stream) from the top which also led to drips on the bottom (from three different places). We have a Sub ZERO 680 fridge and since our usual fridge guy didn't answer, I called the customer service person (highly suggest, they are wonderful) who gave me a list of different phone numbers and Paul's was the first on the list. As advised by the Sub ZERO customer service representative, we explained that our situation was urgent and Paul sent his technician from all the way across town to help us right away. I am so grateful for his efforts, since my mom and I were standing on a chair by the fridge exchanging cups to catch all the water. Seth showed up soon after and he is probably one of the nicest, most honest, and most helpful people I have ever met. I appreciated his straight-forwardness and his ability to identify the potential problem right away. He answered all of my mom's questions (believe me, there were many questions) and was EXTREMELY polite and respectful to my mom and me. I decided to give a 2 star review, because I am averaging my mother-in-law's experience (who doesn't use Yelp), who was very impressed (and had a different technician). Personally I had an unenjoyable and unforgettable experience, and while I greatly dislike complaining, I use Yelp a lot for recommendations, so I felt a need to share this experience as Yelp only works by collecting many reviews. Just over a month ago, my dishwasher stopped draining. I checked the filter, then disconnected the drain hose from the drain pipe, and was able to blow compressed air both directions, so my wife called Paul's Certified Appliance on her mother's recommendation. They came out, I told them what I had tried already, and they checked the filter, which they said was fine, and then pressed the drain button, and the dishwasher drained without issue. They said they thought it was some food blockage, that just got loose after a week. I was charged $104 for their visit, and told to keep an eye on it, and if it stopped working again, it was possible the drain pump was failing. They said the service call fee was good for 30 days, so they would only charge for labor if they had to come back. The dishwasher worked fine for about a week, and then it stopped again. I again checked the drain pipe for food, then I unscrewed the two screws holding the dishwasher to the counter, and tried to pull it out. The supply line was a copper pipe, so it only moved 4 inches. I decided to push it back and leave it to the professionals. My wife called Paul's again, and said the dishwasher stopped working, and asked if they wanted to come check it out, or just order the drain pump, and we were fine with either. They ordered the pump. My wife was at home when the technicians came back to install it. They asked her who had ordered the drain pump. She said she guessed that she had, to which he replied, "well, I guess you just bought yourself a new pump" giving the impression the pump wasn't the problem. They went to the dishwasher, saw the unattached screws, and they asked my wife if someone had been messing with the dishwasher. She said that I had attempted to pull the dishwasher out, but could only move it 4 inches. He seemed unhappy with this, but continued. He then proceeded to yank the dishwasher out and broke the copper supply pipe, which started spraying water behind our dishwasher. He turned off the supply under the sink to stop the water. He then packed up his tools and told my wife that because I messed with the dishwasher (unscrewed two screws he would have needed to unscrew himself), it created an uncertain situation, and he refused to work on our dishwasher. He then said, no charge (for breaking our pipe and causing a mess), and they left, without fixing the pipe he had broken, and without cleaning up the water that he had put behind our dishwasher (which still couldn't come out, because the pipe was cracked, not severed). When my wife told me what had happened, I was appalled. If he really did have a problem with me messing with my own appliances (which is ridiculous), he should have refused to work on it after my wife said that I had touched it, and before he broke our pipe and made a mess in our kitchen. Then, after he broke the pipe and made a mess, he should have fixed it or at least cleaned up. I then called another appliance repair company, and I explained what had happened, and they were surprised and embarrassed for their profession, as they mentioned that Paul's has a great reputation in their community. This, along with the good Yelp ratings, leads me to believe that the technician was just having a bad day, and decided to take it out on my wife and dishwasher. The new repair company suggested I complain to the contractor's board to get Paul's to come back and fix the mess, but my wife didn't want those technicians back in our house, so we decided not to. The new repair company then said that he unfortunately could not work on the dishwasher, because he said his insurance company wouldn't cover him fixing another contractors mistake. The new repair company did give me many helpful tips on how to fix the issue myself. So I had to come home early from work to pull the dishwasher all the way out, and clean up all the water back there, to minimize damage to my floor and cabinets. We removed the copper supply pipe and checked the voltage into the drain pump when it should have been on, and saw 120 V, so I deduced Paul's was correct with their first assumption that the drain pump had indeed failed. I ordered a new flexible supply line ~$30 and a new drain pump ~$35 from Amazon, and installed both myself, and now it is working just fine. I suppose the silver lining is it cost me less, but I had preferred to pay an expert to fix it. This would have been especially bad if I weren't able to do the repair myself. read more

We've had really good service from Paul's. We had one guy from here who we trusted. He'd been to our house several times. He was honest and forthcoming. Now there is a guy named Ko who comes out. He's been great. There were two other people we used to trust before we started calling Paul's. One person passed away and the other is usually too busy with commercial work for our little jobs. I brought in my own electrician, he found that someone had disconnected the ground from behind the outlet...I wonder who!? They charged my credit card at will. Our refrigerator was on the fritz and all of our groceries started to defrost. I noticed the panels near the door were extremely hot and decided to call Paul's Appliances. We are glad we did!!! A technician arrived within 35 minutes and was prepared to go to work. It took him about 25 minutes to diagnose the problem (fan had become dislodged) and he repaired it within a half an hour. He cleaned the area, explained how to do future maintenance and put everything back in place. Edwin was socially conscious and wore a mask the whole time he was here. Call this company to repair my refrigerator. I told the secretary that I had a repair code and wanted it checked by a technician since this control board was replaced by this company a few years earlier. The repair person showed up with only a clipboard, did what I just told him I had done ( unplugged the refrigerator then plugged it back in) got the same error code and said they had to replace the same board that had been replaced. He would call the manufacturer to check. I got a return call. He stated that the manufacture didn't know this cause and repair would be more that $300 plus the $85 paid for the first visit. I went on line ordered the part ($91 shipped) and it takes less than 5 minutes to install. read more

I highly recommend Paul's Appliance Repair. My 20 yr. old refrigerator was leaking water and puddling under crisper. The Repairman, Ko, knew exactly what the problem was. He repaired it under an hour. The water that comes in for the ice maker was spraying out and freezing and refreezing in the back of the freezer. He took the back panel off, knocked off all the ice. Then freezer taped the water tube so it wouldn't spray. Works great. No more water leak. He explained everything he was doing step by step. Ko was really friendly, and knowledgeable. CO came out at 10am and didn't take long to figure out what was wrong (compressor) and have the parts from LG sent to him to install parts warranty. Ice maker on our Jenn Air Refrigerator was not working properly. I can not live without ice ! Also, the temperature controls were not holding steady. We called late Friday, the receptionist was very polite, told us the repair man would be at our house by 11:00 am the next day. Sure enough, he arrived at 8:30 am (he had called ahead to let us know he was on the way). His name was SETH ! very polite, very professional. His goal was to fix it without having to order new parts (which tend to be expensive). He was very through in diagnosing the problem, taking time to explain his logic.
