I stopped in yesterday and a very cheerful lady was behind the counter ringing people up. I grabbed a order of cookie bites that advertised $0.05 cents off fuel with purchase and she inspected the receipt and noticed it wasn't on there. She suggested that I call their Customer Service department and ask about the discount, but not thinking, I walked out and dropped the receipt in the trash. My fault.. but I appreciated her looking at it and noticing and calling it out to me.

During our conversation (which was basically a stare at each other, a lot can be said with that type of interaction) both of our mouths tried to make words but nothing came out. I shook his hand and said thank you. The look on his face was one of the best stories I ever heard.

It sits right on a two-lane coastal "highway," barely 1/4 mile from Lake Michigan, but would just as likely be found in some backwater Alabama swamp (not an insult, just an ambience). There was also a quintessential old farmer-type playing lottery scratch-offs by scratching off the barcode without actually playing the game on the front, then communicating with the cashier woman on a first name basis (Sarah). What a weird experience. I'm always interested in the colorful characters these tiny little towns and their stores. The pizza? Some of the best I've found south of Holland. The sauce had a hint of sweetness, and the crust had a couple of semi burnt bubbles that added to the delicious crunch of the crust. Dogs are not allowed inside, but there are several trees with "dog parks," (spots to hook up your dog,) while you go inside. Each is on grass, and spaced out so that dog can not reach each other.
