By 5:30pm they still hadn't called back. I called and they answered and said they were short staffed and must of just missed our ticket. Said they would call the technician and see where he was at and they would come out tonight still. They texted me at 6:00pm and said they can't come out today that it'll have to be the next day at 2:00pm. Very unprofessional and would not recommend.

Update: After leaving a review about my experience with this company. I received a phone call from a completely different number (possibly the same guy) asking me to remove a review since I was not a customer. I assumed he was calling on behalf of another company since he said, they "locksmiths?" are a close-knit community and that he's asking me nicely to remove it (again, possibly the same guy). So, I go back to look at the messages and I notice a picture of the same guy for 2 different companies. Like, what type of scam is this? (Ok, more than likely the same guy) To be fair, this guy wasn't rude, he used please thank you and even told me to have a good day before WE ended the call. It was the type of conversation I wish we'd had the first go-around. Ha, go figure. I've attached a photo of both companies. (Ok, it's definitely the same guy) I want to reiterate that I am NOT a customer and I chose NOT to use their services and I won't use the clone company's services either. Good customer service doesn't start when money exchanges hands, it starts from the moment someone interacts with your business. The fact that I am not a customer doesn't negate your responsibility to treat me kind and with respect. Sir, I wish you the best moving forward.

I can't say enough good things about Ames Locksmith. I had a lock on my building which wasn't…read moreopening, and I initially assumed it was just frozen. After a few warm days it became obvious that this was not the case. I called Ames and Ryan was at my building in less than an hour! He was able to diagnose the issue in just a few minutes, and it's working better than ever. He was also very thorough, making sure to ask if the building had a master key system which he should account for. I hope I don't need a locksmith again any time soon, but I will definitely call Ames if I do. By the way, they also offer locksmith services and key programming for cars. Despite advertising emergency service, and calling well within posted "business hours", after more than 24 hours I still have not had any response. This was the case for all three local locksmiths I called on a Saturday. My mom had a doorknob fail on a kitchen door between her back door and the main part of the house. This locked her out entirely. She is injured and preparing for surgery Monday, so it was particularly concerning to have her stuck outside. Ultimately, a friend was able to come by to remove the trim and get it open with a credit card for her. I moved to the state of Oregon 20 years ago, so my number is no longer a local area code. Despite calling for (and clearly noting) I needed help for a home in Toledo, perhaps this played a role? Or they could not come anytime soon and couldn't be bothered to just call to say as much? No idea. All I know is they not only did not have a prompt response, but I got no response whatsoever. Certainly, can't get behind that. Not sure what happened with their messages. Sometimes phones are just weird, it does totally happen in life. It sounds like it was a busy day for them. Of the locksmith options I found, I would still try calling them again - I didn't get ANY responses. So bizzarre. But based on my experience trying 3 local providers, all with good reviews; If you need someone ASAP - and especially if you have to leave messages - definitely call multiple companies to be sure someone calls back. And it sounds like calling again is smart if you are ever stuck waiting around without any responses. I haven't needed an emergency locksmith for 15 years, so this was certainly a reacquaintance/learning experience. I've learned something useful about how to best get in contact with one! Don't avoid this company because of this; just cast yourself a wide net of inquiries and then don't worry about calling them (or anyone else) again if you are in a more urgent situation and need help.

Absolutely the most inept repairman that I have ever seen in my 76-year lifespan. He made my…read moreornate, expensive, front-door handle inoperable, then left with the inside knob hanging on. It came off in my hand the minute I tried to turn it. He didn't have the nerve to ask for any kind of payment. The part on my outside, front door handle meant to be pressed by the thumb would not move. Seems to me like it needed proper, internal lubrication. He immediately said an internal part was broken and needed to be replaced. First thing he did, after he had difficulty removing the inside door knob, was to strip a screw when he tried to take the mechanism apart. Soon after, it started to work properly, because it needed, as I suspected, some lube. Now, it just needed to be put back together. He tried for more than an hour, but could not figure out how to put it back together. He jerry-rigged it so the handle looked like it would stay on. It did not. A follow-up call to another locksmith turned out that a spring was somehow lost in the disassembly of the door knob. In any event, a complete replacement will be necessary at the cost of several hundred dollars. I should have known the fellow from Speedy was dicey when he immediately decided without much looking that a part replacement was needed. After he failed to get the knob back on, he hemmed and hawed when I asked if he could replace the entire thing. Clearly, he did not want to tackle that project. In his defense, he's a nice guy. Speedy may be just fine for unlocking car doors, but for anything more involved, I would look elsewhere.
