The mortise lock in my antique armoire door broke, presenting me with a dilemma. No locksmith in New York City where I live was able to fix it; everyone said it was unfixable because the lock casing was riveted shut. Then I found Paul's Locksmith through the web. Paul responded immediately to my inquiry and said he should be able to fix it. Two weeks after sending him the lock, he sent it back better than it has ever been. The spring had broken, and Paul and his team had to create a new part to make it work. Now it feels a lot more sturdy. What a gem! I live in San Marcos TX and was fortunate to find this place online. We live in a 1929 cottage bungalow, nothing fancy, but it does have original doors and hardware. Our front door exterior mortise lock broke a spring a few years ago and we just didn't worry about it because we had a deadbolt that did all the heavy lifting. I finally decided to get serious and found Paul's Lock & Safe online, sent photos and explained the situation. The office manager, Marie is a class act and told me it could most likely be fixed. I sent it to the shop and she let me know when it had arrived. Just a few days later she emails me to say it is all fixed and she wanted to make sure she had the correct address as she was shipping it that evening. Cut to a few days later the package arrives and I unwrap it and it has the scent of a freshly oiled lock. I installed it and it works beautifully! Both times I have been extremely impressed by Paul's expertise (he's a third generation locksmith!), his amity, humility and his fair and very reasonablr pricing.
