Pav's Creamery is a place I wish I went to more often. When I go, it's almost always slammed, but that just means it's popular, especially on nice days. I went this last time to grab their Muddy Duck Sundae. They had it as a temporary featured item to celebrate the Rubber Duck Fest! It was good but not very memorable, in my opinion. I saw many kids with it, and they seemed to love it! They have a very large menu, so I still haven't found something I absolutely love yet, but I know it'll happen eventually! The ice cream itself was fine, but since everything is kept "in the back" and you can't see the tubs to choose from, you have to rely on the (fairly large) menu. I'm guessing they wouldn't mind offering samples, but with a line behind me, I didn't feel comfortable asking and waiting for them to bring one out. Our ice cream and drinks were served in plain white styrofoam cups and bowls, which felt a little underwhelming. If anything the shop is in a great downtown location, perfect for a walk, and the interior is cutely decorated. It's a bright and clean-looking interior with a vibe of a 1950's soda shop. We had just arrived into town after a long trip and we wanted some ice cream and the girl who took our orders was so sweet even though we had just walked in within 5 minutes of close. A few people did walk in at 9:01 and she said "sorry, we're closed now." Good to know they honor the hours to the dot. So props to her for giving quick service with a smile. I really wanted to try the adult milkshakes, but their soft serve was either out or broken, so they were unable to make that. We opted for a variety of flavors and tried them all. My favorite was the Salted Truffle Caramel. Pretty solid. We took our ice creams to go so we didn't overstay our welcome. For what it's worth, they do sell a few flavors pre-packaged to go. Pretty excited to try this place again. The only knock I have is that they have a list of flavors but no description.. you can't even see the ice cream from the bar. So I asked a few questions, after waiting in a line out the door, and still felt completely unprepared to order. I went with the double chocolate raspberry which ended up being raspberry ice cream with chocolate chunks in it which was not what I was expecting. My fiancé got the kustard flavor of the week which was red velvet Oreo. Instead of being red velvet kustard, it was vanilla kustard with bits of Oreo and red velvet cake in it. Both flavors were good but the titles weren't very helpful in shaping our expectation. Anytime we are in Downtown Cuyahoga Falls, we stop by Pav's. Who doesn't love a good ice cream?? Plus they have a nice retro interior and super friendly staff. My go to favorite flavor is salted caramel truffle. The other flavors are good, but we always return for this flavor. I've also tried Cookie Monster, which is a little too minty for my taste, Birthday cake, which could use a little more cake batter flavor, and death by chocolate, which is really chocolatey and good. They also offer alcoholic milkshakes and beershakes. They are very creamy and heavy, they are a meal in themselves. We got the peanut butter Oreo shake and it was delicious. But I don't like to taint my ice cream with the taste of alcohol, so I'm just going to stick to the ice cream. I hope they can make more milkshakes where they can hide the taste of alcohol more. read more

Pav's is cool! We'd heard great things about it, so were excited to try it out for some dessert after dinner in the falls. This shop is in a really nice stretch of shops and restaurants in the falls, so there's plenty to do in the area as well. The shop itself is very cute, decorated in the traditional ice cream parlor aesthetic. Looking at the menu, they have a ton of milkshakes (boozy and non-alcoholic), sundaes, and ice creams. We opted to each try some ice cream, and my husband got a milkshake. I got the 2 flavors of the week (graham central station & bananas foster) in a cup, and my husband got a scoop of the salted truffle caramel ice cream and the butterbeer milkshake. The ice cream is all very good! It's super creamy, the flavors are great, and they are generous with their scoops for those prices! I tend to like ice creams with a little more texture, so I would've put some banana chunks into that bananas foster ice cream for example, but the flavors are still solid. My husband liked his milkshake, although he would've liked it to be a little thicker. We both agreed that the things we got were solid, but when we come back next time we'll probably get some of the other milkshakes, as that seems like the thing to get here (seemed like that's what everyone else was getting as well). Solid little ice cream shop on Front Street. It's always fun to stop in - it's got an old timey diner vibe with booths / bar. There's limited street parking available on front street but you can always park in some of the free parking garages around and walk in. I've never felt unsafe in downtown Cuyahoga falls! They have an amazing array of flavors- from the classics to modern twists. One of my favorites is "Cookie Monster" which is a blue moon base with Oreo and chocolate chip cookie dough chunks. I am a big fan of their freezer pints - that are the most bang for your buck! $2.50 for a pint of ice cream, often it's two flavors mixed (chocolate / mocha, lemon/berry, etc.) they also have little ice cream sandwiches in their freezer. I also enjoy their boozy milkshakes that are over the top and definitely worth it - there's like 7-9 options and I've enjoyed the couple I've tried! They also have some snack options, like hot dogs, chips. The service can be hit or miss! I find that the teens working there are occasionally grumpy and don't seem like they wanna be working and occasionally I've had great service. It just depends. Pav's Creamery has a number of locations around the Akron area ranging from the original take out only stand to the modern space in Green and the Cuyahoga Falls store which is set up as an old school soda fountain with tables and a long counter. Pav's makes its own ice cream in both traditional frozen custard and hard ice cream. All ice cream is hand scooped, no soft serve. Flavors range from traditional to all sorts of originals with seasonal flavors and a special flavor or two of custard each week. You can get cups, cones, sundaes, milkshakes, specialties and even alcoholic milkshakes. I tried the Banana Cream Pie, the Pumpkin Pecan Pie, and the Death By Chocolate. The ice cream and custard bases are excellent, smooth and creamy, with nice density and not too sweet. The flavors are vivid and impactful with good mixins. It's made of vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate and a marshmallow topping. They put graham crackers on the side and don't forget the whipped cream!! I'm still making my rounds around their menu since this is only the second time I've been here. They have lots of flavors, sundaes, shakes and flurries (equivalent of a DQ blizzard). They also offer boozy milkshakes. I had a bit to drink during dinner so maybe I'll skip wine with dinner next time so I can try one their adult shakes! I was expecting the cheesecake to be really frozen, but it was still soft and it felt like they just chopped freshly set cheesecake in. Pav's is a cute diner that specializes in ice cream, shakes, and custard- from what I can tell by the menu. They have a full menu of "Adult Shakes" which surprised me because, to me, it seems more like a hang out for teenagers. Don't get me wrong, Pav's is great for all ages, hence the adult shakes, but that was my initial thought. Their food items are limited. They offer different types of hot dogs, chicken tenders, and a chicken sandwich. They have a few sides but we only ordered onion rings to share which were so, so good! We also ordered chili cheese dogs which were ok, but I don't think people come here for the food, but they might come here for the Lawson's chip dip! What a cool item to offer because it is a known and loved item for everyone in the region. Most places no longer carry it, aside from Circle K and Pav's, that I know of! After we ate, my kids got death by peanut butter cones and I got pistachio custard in a bowl. The single scoop in a bowl was a little disappointing compared to my daughter's single-scoop cone, which is the way to go. Both items were really good and we will be return. read more
