This agency is a joke! If you're looking for help in your home, you'd be better off using an internet search, or finding an agency that's reputable, than relying on Pavillion. We signed a contract with Pavillion to find us a long-term nanny that, among other things, is legally able to work in the U.S. We hired a delightful woman via Pavillion and paid them over $13,600.00 for placing her with us. Several months later (less than a year), her permit to work in the U.S. was not renewed and she had to abruptly quit. We contacted Pavillion to understand how this could be possible, given the explicit instructions they were given regarding work eligibility in the U.S. and Pavillion's frequent boasting about their supposedly elite and thorough vetting process. They commenced a new search for a replacement nanny. No new contract was signed or even offered or requested by Pavillion and we had never agreed on any new fee being paid. During the search process, as we were negotiating a fee for a replacement nanny, a gentleman named Ira who was presented us as a Vice President of Pavillion, explained that they actually knew that the nanny's work permit would expire within several months after we hired her and didn't bother to tell us because in Pavillion's experience those permits are renewed. Of course, it wasn't lost on us that this ridiculously unethical concealment also would conveniently avoid risk to payment of Pavillion's high fee, which they received. They eventually placed a replacement nanny with us and demanded a new fee of more than $12,500.00 -- offering a mere $1,000 discount from their regular fee, as though they didn't so obviously screw up with the first nanny placement. We refused and told them that, given how the situation came to be, they don't deserve anything but we would be willing to pay them $5,000. They refused our $5,000 offer and some unsavory character named Keith, who was presented to us as Pavillion's CEO, refused any responsibility for Pavillion's shameful behavior, became extremely aggressive over the phone and in email (like a wannabe tough guy) and threatened to sue us. Of course, we told him to bring it. After several threatening letters from hack ambulance-chaser lawyers, Pavillion eventually sued us nearly a year later. Given that there was no contract between us and they technically had no right to payment, Pavillion tripled down on their unethical behavior and tried to pawn off to the court the contract for the prior nanny (for which Pavillion was fully paid more than $13,600.00) as the basis for payment of a new fee of more than $12,500.00 -- meaning that, notwithstanding Pavillion's obviously unethical screw up, they wanted us to pay them more than $26,000 in less than one year for two nanny placements, one of which placements never would have happened if Pavillion didn't conceal that her work permit would soon expire. The court quickly understood what Pavillion was up to and Pavillion saw the train coming down the tracks and bearing down on them. Of course, they settled for the $5,000.00 we offered them nearly a year earlier and then slithered off. Again, Pavillion Agency is a joke that we consider to be thoroughly unethical and unprofessional. read more

I interviewed well with Pavillion and when they moved forward to check my references, an explained discrepancy in ONE of my references phone number let to them 100% ghosting me. Mark treated me like a criminal and Jessica flat out and unprofessionally ignored my email asking for an update and status of my application. I am appalled that something as an area code was enough to disqualify a seasoned nanny from being connected with families in New York. I worked with Pavillion for the first time 5 years ago, I had just come back from living in Australia as an au' pair and had a unique and long history working with children. In the midst of settling back into nyc and trudging through the muck and the mire of high end household staffing agencies, I was lucky enough to find Pavillion. It became clear to me, after deciding to go with agencies this time around, that most just want to keep you on the line as long as they can, even if they don't have jobs that might fit you, Pavilion isn't like that. Holly was my agent and she took into account not just my experience, but my personality and even the fact that I had a dog I would take with me if away for more than a month...I'm fine with a summer in the Hamptons but my small quiet dog would have to come too, she didn't think that was unreasonable at all! She would send me on interviews often enough and check in on me when she didn't have any matches to make sure my side gigs were tiding me over. My first job I was hired for didn't work out after a month (our personalities clashed) and Holly got right on finding me a new family who I was with for five years. I'm going back to Pavilion again since Covid has left me not needed, and I realized there are a few negative reviews...I can't speak to other people's experiences but mine was more than positive, and when I called recently they promptly got back to me. I was placed by Pavillion a few years ago and had a fortunate run with a prominent family. The position was lucrative but high maintenance. And it ended amicably (i.e. I properly quit the job by giving notice which was extended more than once and training my replacement). I re-signed after a short hiatus and asked my agent to keep certain specifics regarding my former employment confidential. Unfortunately, he did not do so. Id like to speak about Pavillion from two different platforms one, as a nanny and personal assistant who knows what families who use agencies require as far as service and experience, and two, as a client that has used Pavillion to find staff to either replace myself or hire staff for families I work with. I met with Holly 5 years ago when I was still a bit wide eyed and naive about the process and expectations of working for significant families in New York City. I believe that a lot of the frustrated reviews below may be candidates that didn't meet the requirements of Pavillion and they are not able or willing to send these unprepared candidates out to famillies that are paying a lot of money to find the right demeanor, experience level, and skill they require in their home. Sure, i have been to interviews that weren't the right "fit" but I was always qualified for the job. When i first met Holly she had a few jobs for me and we discussed which ones I may be interested in. She then sent my resume to clients and set up appointments based on a lot of schedule coordinating. After each interview she called me to see how things went and then she would speak with the families and get back to me right away. Her number one priority was to place me, and it was not so SHE could get a paycheck.... It was so I could get a pay check. She was so helpful asking me questions about my life and what job would be best. She offered me advice, and even after taking jobs I have called or emailed her with situations and she helps me through them. She understands the dynamic of working in someone's home and dealing with issues that sometimes become quite personal. As i gained skills, confidence, and experience Holly helped me move from being a nanny to being a full time personal assistant. And now with their support i have been able to work with amazing families and have had amazing opportunities for travel, advancement, and influence. As a client, I remember posting craiglist ads for nannies and babysitters and assistants, and meeting people who showed up late, not showered, didn't remember what job they were meeting me for, had no experience, lied on their resume, ect.... I was shocked to say that least, and realized quickly the pool of candidates are quite confused about what a nanny or personal assistant job entails. This isn't a "wear your gym clothes to work" type of job or a babysitting gig you work while you're laid off. These are real jobs for people who expect in their home what they'd expect in their office. Hard-working, prompt, educated people. After a day of this I called up Holly and she sent me wonderful people and offered me information based on their references. (they do call references!) I will continue to use them and send great candidates to them, and be a candidate myself!! read more

Before going into the agency I checked out the reviews and some of them were quite negative and I stayed away for a while but one day I decided to call them up and go in for an interview, I interviewed with Jessica who was so amazing she greeted me with a beautiful welcoming smile we hit it off instantly she told me she also use to be a nanny I felt comfortable talking to her. The other staff members were so friendly and fun. I signed up instantly and I am so glad I did because Jessica never gave up on finding me a position with a family. I signed up in 2018 and she sent me out on many interviews right away and when I say many I mean MANY but they weren't the right fit. Even when I became a bit discouraged she gave me a pep talk telling me don't ever change who I am or question my skills and abilities I will find the right fit for me, and after about 6 months of on going interviews I DID . And for the bad reviews I don't know the situation but my experience was amazing and NOOOOOOO I didn't get paid I am a real career nanny with 15 years experience working with high profile families, so I don't have the time to come on here and make things up.
