The place is clean, safe, and affordable... and I love that the ranch manager lives on site, so someone is always available to make sure the ponies ok!!! The girls who work there are courteous and conscientious, and while I'm away they sometimes send me a pic of my girl, which always make me smile and breathe a sigh of relief. I love the atmosphere at Coastal and I'm so glad that I found it, it has made owning a horse while having to travel with work, sooooo much easier!!!

I'm pretty sure she was abused probably by a man because she's scared to death of my son. She's still skittish with me sometimes. The collar and harness she came with were too loose and she escaped five minutes after I got home. She ran up on the freeway. Luckily, a kind driver managed to catch her and returned her to Woods. I thought I would never see her again. She was lucky she didn't get run over and I'm lucky to have her back. I bought an escape proof harness and put a different collar on her which I made sure was snug enough to not slip over her head. I almost brought her back, thinking she would never warm up to me, but I'm glad I didn't. She scared to death of a leash or anything like the collar and harness. She finally warmed up to our other dog and they play all the time. She is very playful with me when she's not scared. It just takes a lot of patience when a dog like this. Woods must have known she was an escape risk because at Woods carried her out to my vehicle. Any other time I have gotten a dog from the shelter, I always took the dog out the door and to my vehicle. I just wish they could have warned me. It almost caused her to get killed on the freeway.

Then we adopted a cat from them, their cat room is amazing. So nice to get out there and be able to actively interact with multiple cats and meet one that fits you. We now have adopted another dog from them. It is great that they keep getting animals from other shelters and adopting them out. Our new dog had some stomach issues, but everything was clearly disclosed on the records and they send you home with everything you could need. The free vet check is a really nice plus. We look forward to joining the classes for our new dog once she is fully healthy and cleared to go. We enjoy supporting them through donations as well because they do such a great job.

The thing is that they saw Dr. O'Reilly for like 13 years and thousands of dollars worth of surgeries for this dog. But at the final day of the dog's life OReilly couldn't make time to see him. Too busy today... Seems a bit cold to me.

Petsmart will take no responsibilty because it is a animal rescue they allow to bring the animals for adoption. Unlike when Cal Poly ran the adoptions and much better organized with healthy animals. The new rescue clearly does not do the proper testing to be sure these pets are healthy enough for adoption. One of our kittens has FIP and so far after a lot of tests and finding a solution with no thanks to Petsmart or the animal rescue they allow in the store. We have spent thousands of dollars getting her better. Our other cat we adopted at Petsmart over a year ago suddenly became very ill. She started to have neurological issues and after 3 weeks of trying everything to save her we had no choice but to put her down. The vet believes it was something she had when we adopted her. Again no help or mention of this issue! As you can only imagine the toll this has taken on our family. Please adopt elsewhere so you don't have to go through the heartache we have with our fur babies.

The Puppy Social Hour is a great time for your puppy to socialize with other puppies around the same age (10 weeks to 5 months) while also learning basic commands with positive reinforcement, desensitization to loud noises/objects, etc. I highly highly recommend this training at Woods Humane!
