Was trying to buy a Breitling watch the other day and had researched the reference number and was having a problem confirming the authenticity. The sales rep acted almost offended I was putting in my due diligence to authenticate a large purchase. The manager was no help and tried to sell the " it was sold by an old couple" so it had to be real so why question it. Would only sell me the watch and give 24 hours to authenticate it. Who could get that done in 24 hours? So all my research showed it was a fake so if your going to spend a large amount of money take your time because your stuck with it. read more

I came into the store and purchased power tools i didn't end up needing them. I returned to the store with the items still ziptied together and in the same bags that they left in. I tried to return the tools with a receipt. I was told that since i didn't purchase s protection plan that i could not return the tools. That the stores policy is in big letters on the receipt. Sorry to say number one the receipt writing is extremely small even if it's on a full piece of paper. Number two the lady that rang me out did not explain the stores return policy to me. They asked why i didn't look at the receipt and read it for the return policy. The receipt was in the bag so it was easier for me to google the store and see what the return policy is. So that's what i did and what i seen was that if i had a receipt that i could bring back the merchandise within 14 calendar days. I received a call from some type of manager who explained to me that this wasn't their store. It was a pawn king but in a different location honestly i didn't look cause i google " pawn king near me" and read the return policy. So after being told that i could not return the tools because i didn't purchase a "protection plan" i asked them to just buy the tools back. They informed me that they couldn't buy the tools back for what i paid for them i said "of course not " at which point the manager took my receipt to look at it to see what i paid for it. My question is why? Why don't they give me an offer based on the tools themselves? If i had not bought them there and i was just bringing them in to sell they would just make me an offer but instead they wanted to see how much i paid for them before making an offer. To me that's not right. They should know what they offer for these tools and should have bought them back for that price and not looked at my receipt to make sure they didn't offer too much. I also explained to them that I've never purchased anything from a pawn shop in my life and had no idea that they don't do returns without a "protection plan" there was no sign at the register that informs you of this but apparently there are sign somewhere in the store. I was then told after my purchase i should have read my receipt to see this information extremely small type. It was 180$ that's it and rather than work with a customer and explain their return policy for any future purchases they made this whole experience one of the worst experiences of my life. I will never recommend this store to anyone and I'll make sure every person i can knows what kind of place this is. NEVER SHOP HERE!!!! They didn't offer any help and all they did do was become extremely rude when i asked why they needed to look at my receipt to make me an offer on the tools. Just make an offer of what you'd normally pay for that stuff instead of being shady and looking at my receipt to make sure you don't offer me too much. Terrible place. First off, EBAY IS NOT GOD, Google does exist for something that hasn't sold recently on eBay, which does happen. But this shop and its team of cretins decided since they couldn't find on eBay what I had brought to their shop that it immediately was crap and worthless and they made sure I felt the same as their descriptions of my article. Word of advice: Hire someone who knows vintage Hi-Fi before you treat customers in such a manner that is incredibly rude! If I could sell for retail price I would, hence why I just wanted some money and I came to the shop. The bottom of the barrel gang that works there will make you and whatever you try to sell there worthless, as do many pawn shops, but these guys take the cake. I went in to find guitars so i can get back to music first off they sold me the ibanez grg 7 string for 240 something with blemishes and such eouldnt let me plug in so i got it thinking it was going to be great i also got condenser mic sound proofing and headphones 1rst off mic dont work,7 string has a bed neck the truss rod is binding,the bridge is shot,same with the ltd ec10 alao chagrd me 240 when both guitars are 250 brand new,found out later on,took the 7 string back in for a return 6 days later and they said they would only give me 70 dollars back when i complained to a employee in the parking lot he shrugged his shoulders and told me now i had my phone in my hand and recording so i get his voice he said that they have to make moey too they have to make 90 percent return naw im taking my buisness else where from now on and i will be notifying everyone thst asks me and show my reciept,worst company and have 0 knowladge in musical instruments should of went to guitar center and bought 1 good 6 string,the speaker in the amp is blown,ive been playing for over 20 years and have never been rippided off like this. read more

Im so extremely hurt and devestated that pawn king Peoria flat out lied to me to steal a piece of my grandfather's jewelry! I brought in some used gold pieces to sell and one of the pieces was a ring of my grandfathers. They told me since it was only 10 carat gold it was only worth $40. I asked, "well what about the stone in it?" 2 people looked at the stone and said it was worthless and the only value was the weight in gold (4.3g =$40.00) and that it would be used for scrap gold. That's what was written on my ticket, "scrap gold". I took it believing the stone was worthless. My grandparents were first generation immigrants and worked very hard but didn't have a whole lot of money. Turns out the gem was a .5 carat diamond, must have been decent quality because they are selling the ring for $580.00 in the Pekin store! I realize it's a business to make money, and I have been a long time customer for years without complaints because their prices were always fair (about 20-25% of retail value), but shame on you for outright lying that it was scrap gold and the stone was worthless! I don't know if I have any legal recourse, but I will definitely be exploring that option. read more
