I first attended one of Noelle's training classes with my young Dutch Shepherd. That was "Manners I". I was so impressed with her teaching that I signed up for more classes such as Nose Work and Rally Dog. Now I have a new Dutchie puppy and we are starting out right with her "Star Puppy" class. Noelle is fun to be around and the hour class goes by in the blink of an eye. She is generous with her time and the classes frequently run over time so we definitely get our money's worth! She *always* tells us to contact her if we are having a training problem during the rest of the week when we are doing our homework so that "no puppy will be left behind". Her training methods are gentle and definitely get results. However, don't expect those good results if you don't practice at home between classes. She really understands how a dog responds to different stimuli and her suggestions for correcting behavior are based on that knowledge so that the person student is never in conflict with the canine student's natural inclinations. This doesn't mean that she tolerates misbehaviors, it just means that she teaches us ways to overcome misbehaviors in such a way that it makes sense to the dogs. My dog, Ben, and I have taken classes with Noelle... Well, every opportunity we get. Without a doubt she is the most perceptive -reading dog body language, anticipating what to do & when to do it, how to fix it, etc. - dog trainers I have met in almost 20 years of handling dogs (obedience, conformation, a bit of Freestyle). We have two Rottweilers. Jackson & Sophie both 5 years old. I started taking them to Noelle as young pups. I cannot express the value of doing that. She not only has a HUGE knowledge of dogs in general, but her knowledge of the gladiator breeds is endless. She is great at explaining how to get your dog to do what you want in a gentle, positive way. I have seen trainers that train with "heavy hands" meaning it's their way or else. Noelle does not. She does her training with "soft hands" using positive reinforcement and praise and the dogs seem to love. I would recommend her to anyone in need of dog training on the western slope. We have done skype lessons with Pawsitive Directions (Noelle) several times and it is always extremely effective, productive, and fun. More importantly, we always accomplish our goals. With these glasses, we were able to learn how to show our boy Madoc in dog shows (specifically setting him up on the table properly). He accomplished his grand championship quickly.
