I have left my girl with Wag Resprt 2 times, a year apart. Last year, my dog came home skinny, and didn't bark for 3 weeks. I have a hound dog. She is a barker. So this year, I supplied a harness, and a note asking them to use it, and even advised they could leave it on her if that was easier. I talked to 2 separate front desk attendents. They did not use it. I recieved a picture of her with a choke collar. I asked them then to please use the harness. The next picture had the harness on while STILL using the choke caller. Not sure what the point of that was. I also didn't get a picture for two of the days, even though I was on that plan. I am extremely disappointed. And had at least *some* hope of a better 2nd experience. We won't be back. Please reconsider if your dog is a barker, or puller. read more

We got the same story as others with, "Your dogs didn't eat very well for the first handful of days, but then they started eating normally", yet we left a 30lb bag of food for them, and came back with maybe 5lbs at most. Strange, I know. What really gave us a red flag, is when I asked to see thier facilities, and both women at the front (one skinny, one big) acted extremely timid to show us where our dogs had just spent the last 7 days. They refused to allow me to see the exact kennel that they were being held in claiming they couldn't "because a manager wasn't there", giving off an extremely uneasy vibe as I tried to do so as if they were blatantly hiding something. Maybe if they were more transparent in where our 15yr+ old senior animals were staying, we would return. It's the way they came off, deliberately trying to avoid showing us where our animals were kept that raises suspicion. No cots were visible from where they were allowing me to view either, just concrete floors, which I'm sure my elderly dogs had the pleasure of sleeping on for the duration of their stay. I truly wish there was a more reputable business that wasn't so secretive about how our animals are being kept. We won't be taking our dogs here again because of this. read more

They traumatized my dog by putting him in a room all by himself and leaving him there for over two hours. He was scared to death!

We have used Wag Resort for nearly a year for both short and long stays. They have consistently done an excellent job in caring for our dog. The staff has been helpful and responsive and our dog clearly likes the staff there. On one of our longer trips they called us to troubleshoot the problem when our dog wasn't eating adequately. And they made sure she got different food to motivate her to eat more. I truly don't understand the negative reviews I've read. Our experience has been consistently positive and our dog always loves to go back. read more

I brought my dogs in for kenneling for the first time. When I brought them home I noticed my large dog had a major scrap on the top of her paw that would have bled a lot. So either, the employees didn't notice despite the large amount of blood or they did notice and chose not to tell me. Either way, we won't be back. read more

I've taken my dogs here for four years. Please...read this. My dogs (two Great Danes) were initially evaluated there for socializing, and passed with flying colors, which is why I took them. They were deemed good socializers. I took them for stimulation and fun. Every time I picked them up, I asked how they did with the other dogs. I told them I wanted to know if my alpha Dane was ever aggressive. Every single time, they said the same thing..."They were fine." A little over a year ago I noticed my dogs behaved differently when I picked them up. They weren't as happy. They seemed more stressed than happy. I asked, everything was fine. I stopped taking them so often...something was off. Last week, when I took my dogs, I asked an employee how they did. She was very honest with me. She said, "I've been here for about a year. They have never been with other dogs. They stay together in their kennel." You can imagine how I felt! In addition to spending a lot of money for my dogs to play and socialize (for years!), I spent $600 for "boot camp" for my big Dane. I still feel pretty sick over this. While my Danes were taken there to play, they were instead fenced next to socializing dogs and unable to intigrate. They were kenneled for no reason. I could have kept them at home! I spoke to the new manager, who apologized and said there were no records as to why. I stressed that they went there for the sole purpose of socializing. She apologized and followed up with a phone call...with an apology, but no offer of any kind of compensation. It was explained to me that there has since been a huge employee turn over and change of management and they will work with me, but again they didn't tell me how much time my dogs were with the others. I feel betrayed and my trust for them is broken. I don't think I'll ever again leave my dogs at a place where I can't watch them via camera. (Wags is certainly capable of installing cameras for viewing. ) I recommend if you leave your dog at a place like this (without cameras available to watch from home), ask them exactly how much time your dog is socializing, and how much time is spent in his/her kennel. Be forward. Ask different people. It's fairly easy to set up a system where we can see our dogs from home or work ...daycares have been doing this for many years, and there is a reason for it. I have a lot of making up to my dogs for this, I feel terrible that this happened and that I was lied to. read more

My dog was probably cared for well while I was there. No real clue. No videos or check ins for extended stays. What I didn't like was the fact that I was told that it would cost $34 per day to board my dog. The rep was not transparent about the $11 daily play group charge on top of that cost. For a two-week stay, that fee constituted more than $150 added to the price of boarding. When I asked for them to call me back or email to talk about this charge, they ghosted me. Adequate service, but unexpected billing, won't be returning. Make sure you get a quote for every aspect of the stay before you contract with this provider. read more

I usually never leave a bad review but this place warrants it. It originally took my beautiful Aussie to the groomer for a full cut/groom with her ears cleaned, nails trimmed, coat washed, etc. I loved the results so rebooked for my other dogs. This is where it went downhill. The dogs were not groomed, the fur was not trimmed, and the nails were lightly trimmed Because of Aussies fur, we were expecting obviously a trim and shape, but instead we got nothing. We worked with management to come back the next day so they could shape my dogs with the full cut, which was a huge inconvenience. The results were more and less the same. Nothing like the first Aussie I brought! To top it all off, they misplaced our dogs collars, causing us to pay even more money for bad service. After I complained about the whole experience, the manager had the gall to leave me a voicemail claiming that the groomers had tried to call and see what type of cut we wanted which was false because there was no missed calls. Regardless, we have confirmed the type of cut at the time of appointment, duh. She offered us a 20% discount for our troubles as if I would ever return Please save your time and energy and choose another business. read more

I assumed upon dropping my dog off they would ask for immunization records and they didn't. My puppy has all his immunizations but clearly one or many of the other dogs didn't have theirs. My puppy was only there for 1 day and he developed kennel cough. They clearly don't care for the health and safety of your pet if they don't even ask for immunization records upon dropping your dog off. They as well don't let you inside of the building which I found weird. How do you know if it's even sanitary inside? Overall bad experience and I wouldn't recommend taking your dog here if you have other options. read more

Too expensive. Boarding and daycare is over priced and my dog always comes home dirty and covered in gravel powder.

If I would have seen reviews on Yelp and not trusted only Google, I would have never taken my two dogs to this overpriced and cruel place. Maybe they delete recent poor reviews because on other sites they've been reviewed poorly for over a year. I'm not sure what they have going on at this establishment, but don't take your loved pets! If I could give them a zero star I would. My dogs stayed for 10 days and were scheduled for a bath. To my surprise, me showing up a day early enlightened me to the filth my pets endured. They literally stunk so bad I nearly vomited. To describe urine, fecal matter, dirt, and old wet dog food mixed in one is the best way to describe what my dogs must of been lying around in. It was horrendous. Secondly, I called to check on them, the gal said they've been great and her notes described they hadn't really been eating. I expected that to happen, so when I came to pick up my dogs, only 2 cups were left in nearly the big bag of food I brought. So if they weren't eating, what happened to the dog food supply? Did the feed them and toss it if it was untouched, or maybe they collect it to use for other dogs. Unbelievable, but what takes the cake Is that dogs can't bark without crackling, squeezing, or squealing. It's not kennel cough... These dogs have likely been subjected to having a choke collar or some device preventing them from barking. If the matter doesn't get better, I will be taking them into the vet. Both dogs have literally been sleeping for 5 days, which is somewhat expected, but they're hurt and weren't treated well. It's depressing!!! Also, they charge an arm and a leg, yet they have the audacity to request a tip at checkout. I hope this review helps someone. This place should be investigated. Something happened and from the other reviews I'm not the only victim of this place. read more

Think twice and try somewhere else. I'd take my dogs to this location for grooming several times and was happy with the care and the results. However, after our most recent visit, I'm not so impressed. As a matter of fact, I'm quite disappointed as my dogs were stressed and still very furry after grooming. Nail trims were rough and one of my dogs had unexplained scratches (broken skin) on his inner leg. No one accepted responsibility, or even had compassion just focused on defending their establishment. Not sure if they've had a change in management or new groomers, or what, but I'm not going back and I wouldn't recommend it to any one either. Just saying...... read more

Great facility but was not impressed with their willingness to work with my dog who is somewhat hard to groom. He doesn't like it so he gets a bit aggressive. They just gave up and called me to come and get him. I have to take him to Denver to get someone with the ability to get him calmed enough to get the grooming done. read more

These guys are VERY through about infomation on the dogs. They were asking more than I knew about them! Prices are average compared to other grooming businesses, but this place is unique becuase they babysit your dogs too! I recommend this place if you want a place where they really care about your pets and know them all like their child. read more

We have a large breed senior dog and have had to board her quite often at Wag. We are absolutely impressed with the facility, the staff and her care. She has also been groomed regularly there and she comes home happy which wasn't usual for her - she doesn't like water. We like the "buddy time" for her when we are boarding. She loves the tummy rubs and the staff is meticulous in seeing that her meds are given as prescribed. They are on top of her eating habits and notify us of any problems. My dog and I love Wag Resort! Training - Bob has been fantastic to work with. His patience and great attitude really put me and my dog at ease. We're both looking forward to starting group training classes next month. Grooming - Taos was nervous at his first grooming appointment, so Suzanne wasn't able to finish his Furminator treatment. Wanting to make sure Taos "had a positive experience," we came back a few weeks later for a do-over at her recommendation. Taos did much better this time, and was even excited to see all of his new buddies (both two- and four-legged). Boarding & Daycare - I've yet to use this service, but the facility is spotless and well-staffed with caring and friendly employees. Little dogs have their own play area (with outside access) with a big window looking into the main waiting area so they can keep an eye on things. Big dogs are grouped by temperament, making for happy playtime. Boarding dogs can get their own "suite" with an indoor room and private patio... Swanky! read more

Took our sweet 11 month old beagles ttgete today for a play date and daycare. Thought it would be a great place where they could playy and get their energy out. Scheduled to have them groomed as well. No our babies don't like baths but they have had many since birth, a bit hard to bathe but NOT impossible. They boyz came ho e so full of energy like they had been cooped up all day. They played for a while as if theyy had not played all day. They did not get groomed because " we did not want to stress them out they Don't like baths" ! For supposed canine professionals they were rude and UNPROFESSIONAL. Pretty sad when yhey can't take care of 11 month old puppies. Won't be back that's for sure read more

The Wag Resort was not ideal for my 3-year-old, active and very social black lab mix. The kennel and yard areas are better suited to little and medium sized dogs that don't require as much space. Our dog got so frustrated that he shredded his bed. To add insult to injury, we had to pay for six days even though our dog only spent five nights. We paid an extra $10 a day for our dog to interact with other dogs. The staff (who would get 4 stars) was really great, however, and if their plans to expand materialize it would make a world of difference for larger breeds. read more

My little dog, Ray, gets the royal treatment at Wag resort. He is excited to come there for daycare and always seems happy and well cared-for when I pick him up. The facility is spotless and it is obvious that the staff really love dogs. I have also used Wag Resort for boarding, training and grooming. I was amazed at the calm, well-groomed and well behaved dog that greeted me when I returned from a week away. I highly recommend Wag! Absolutely terrible experience. Go anywhere but this place. I have a sweet yellow lab that they didn't take good care of; she was clawing to get out when I got there to pick her up at 11:53 AM (which is usually a good indicator of how her week went). I mention the 11:53 AM because they start charging for a new day at 12 PM. I stood in line until it was finally my turn, and at 12:02 PM I got to check out. My bill seemed high, so I questioned the extra charge. She told me that any dog picked up after 12 o'clock got charged anorher day. I was absolutely baffled that she was serious. I showed her my phone with the time of 12:02 and she simply said "that's our policy." I then found out that there "daily walk" that they offer (but don't care to tell you about the additional charge) was $10 more per day... so $45/day total. This "walk" consists of about a half a block stroll down the street and then a quick turnaround. I've seen them do it multiple times but she insisted that it was a mile which is absolutely absurd. They overcharge and I know my dog had a terrible time based on her enthusiastic greeting. Go somewhere else read more

I had two dogs I was going to board, they were to be boarded together and not interact with other animals. The second day of their 2 day stay I was contacted, apparently one of my animals had a small cut under his eye. They had cleaned it and put ointment on it. Apparently, a vet was never contacted but we were contacted immediately, but not before they put unapproved medication on my dogs eye. Finally, we get our dogs home (dogs, by the way, who have lived in close quarters together their entire lives and have never hurt each other before) the dog with the cut under his eye requires 5 stitches, 10 days of antibiotics and a cone. The other dog had a punctured lip that we were not even made aware of, and he is on 5 days of antibiotics. I am not an over reactor, had it just been a small cut I wouldn't have bothered with the vet, but his eye was swollen shut and oozing when I picked him up. I called 3 times, left 3 voice messages and was never contacted back. I left them with enough food for 4 days (18 cups) even though they would only be staying 2 days, and they came back with 3 cups (I measured it out when I put it away), I paid for baths and neither of them had been washed. I do not, and will never, recommend this facility as there is some kind of negligence happening and my dogs just happened to be the victims. I have photos and vet records, I am not over reacting or blowing anything out of proportion, I am just trying to save some other soul from receiving a phone call while they are out of town, and learning that their fur babies are both injured and there was no action on the part of the care facility. read more

We left our two year old Boston Terrier "Lizzy" with the Wag Resort in Grand Junction for about a week while we went to Yellowstone with family. While we were at Yellowstone, we called the Wag every other day asking how Lizzy was doing and we were told that everything was going well. When we returned to pick up our dog, we were given a dog who smelled of fecal matter and urine. We had taken her dog bed for her to use while being boarded. The attendant handed me a big black plastic bag with Lizzy's dog bed inside the plastic bag, I didn't question why the dog bed was in the plastic trash bag. We paid the bill and left. Lizzy smelled so bad, we immediately took her to a local pet store to give her a bath. I also discovered why the dog bed was in the trash bag. It was totally covered with fecal matter and urine. Lizzy didn't want a bath....she didn't want to eat, or drink, she was a very sick dog. We had planned to stay a few more days in Grand Junction, but we decided to bring her on home to Kansas City that day so we could take her to her regular vet. She could NOT CONTROL HER BOWELS. We ended up spending over $500 in vet bills trying to figure out what was wrong with her. Our regular vet treated her 2 weeks and she did not improve. He had to refer us to an emergency treatment center here in Kansas City. We wrote a four page letter to the Wag Resort asking for an explanation as to what had happened to Lizzy while she was in their care. The letter was mailed on August 17, 2015 and we have had no response of any kind from the WAG. Just the common courtesy of acknowledging our letter, or an e-mail, or phone call would have been much appreciated. LIzzy is a well trained dog and had never had any health problems prior to being boarded at The Wag. She is totally potty trained and during the time she could not control her bowels, she was scared. It breaks my heart to think that she was not treated well at The Wag.......a response from The Wag was all we asked for, but never received. I wonder why?????? read more
