I had to call them last minute because my friend's roof on her house flew off and she couldn't watch my cats. Joann and Steve came to the rescue and assured me that the cats would be fine. Wags n Wings absolutely saved my trip out of the country…read more My dog Cloud is very clingy and will cry and run around when he isn't around me or at home. When I left the country for 2 weeks I boarded him at Wags n Wings after they were recommended to me by a friend. On the first day I got a call from Rya that Cloud was not acclimating to daycare. However she was able to coordinate with my vet to pick up medication to make Cloud's stay more comfortable. She even sent daily pictures and messages keep me updated on his status. After a few days went by Cloud had toned down on the crying and clawing at the walls and had even made some doggy friends. I went from constantly being worried to being able to enjoy my time abroad. This is important that she won't just accept every single dog but keeps the safety in mind for other people's dogs. What I saw was a perfect place for my 4 dogs to stay and have plenty of room to run around. They have cots outside that are covered for shade and they also have a room with more cots and couches if the dogs prefer indoors. They also have separate areas to separate dogs in case they don't get along. One of my dogs was having some issues while we were gone but it didn't phase her and you could tell that she has a lot of experience taking care of dogs. Honestly, I couldn't be happier with our boarding experience and highly recommend Da Doghouse for anyone needing their dogs to be boarded for short term or long term. The site is BEAUTIFULLLL and they have a giant yard for your pet to roam and run free! Kehau came out to meet him before boarding him and seeing how she interacted with him right off the bat eased any apprehension I had about leaving him. She made him comfortable very quickly and listening to commands shortly after. A huge plus was that she both picked up from and dropped him off at home when we got back. That made our trip just so much easier. On top of that, he was listening to commands much more than when he left! Oh, and getting pics of him on our trip was the cherry on top. Will definitely be bringing him back to her whenever we need to go on a trip. Hope to have him have a playdate with her soon too.

And it's really assuring know they separate the big dogs from the small ones. I heard about Arms of Aloha in passing as others recommended them on various Facebook dog groups that I'm a part of. When my dog was diagnosed with cancer, one thing that popped into my mind was that, if possible, I'd like to let her cross over at home, where she was more comfortable. This thought was even stronger after having visited the vet so many times in the last weeks of her life. I had read up on the literature available on the Arm's of Aloha website (where you can also get an estimate) as well as preregistered. You can also look at their appointments available. They advise on making an appointment at least 1-2 days in advance, especially on the weekends. The hard part is knowing ahead what day that will be. My dog took a turn for the worst one day and I went back and forth on scheduling the only/last appointment available for the next day (appts can be seen/booked online). No one wants to make that call (decision), but it's also painful to watch your beloved friend suffer. They do have a thorough cancellation policy you can read online and I decided I'd book the last appointment to secure it and I could always cancel/reschedule more than 8 hours out. In the confirmation email, there is a link to a video to watch of the Doctor describing the process so you're familiar - I'd recommend this if it is your first time through this. I guess because it was already the next day, they called me shortly after to confirm my appointment. I could barely get the words out the confirm but I never felt judged by the person on the phone. The morning of the appointment, I received an invoice in my email. They suggest taking care of it ahead of time as doing it in the moment with so many emotion is harder. I appreciated this detail and was able to get it out of the way. At our scheduled appointment time, Dr. Naun came to our house. She has a calm and peaceful energy to her. She had some further paperwork for me to sign then we started the process. It was peaceful, and of course sad, but Dr. Naun brought comfort to the situation and we're so grateful for a service like this. We chose to have our dog's ashes returned to us and about a week later, we received a beautiful urn and our paw prints. With the service, they have a chaplain who you may access to talk to if you need help. I did not use it but they do also offer at home palliative care.
